I just wanted to let you know that article you did on dementia was wonderful. I passed it to a girlfriend from school whose mother has dementia and to the 5th wife of my former husband (i was number 1) and they have both told me how useful and interesting it was to them. I am just 5ft Jo and 70 this year. You looked fabulous in your winter white outfit but I think the coat you tried on in the shop overwhelmed you. Jo your big in personality don't bother thinking about your hight. I'm 4'11 Jo never bother me, don't worry about changing your shoe's because your small. Plus youv got such a lovely shoes collection you'd then never hardly use. Don't buy the coat, the New Look one was nice.

I am 5 foot one and a half and the same age is you. I recently had an accident and tore the meniscus in my knee so no high shoes for me. Most of the time I manage with a pair of Uggs in winter and flip-flops in summer, but I love the idea of the shoes you were describing :) x

As a stylist still working in my 70's the coat was amazing but like me you are small and unfortunately the coat was wearing you. There are some styles we just have to be realistic about.

I would go for the Chanel platforms Jo. I'm 5'2 and at 60 often thought about wearing lower heeled shoes. I have quite a fews pairs now, but it's still the higher heels that I reach for, and I think you would do the same xx

I am a shorty too - but also quite 'portly'. I have always worn heels but last year had achiles tendinitus which was partly caused by lawn bowls and apparently from wearning heels. I now can no longer wear heals and have discovered the wonder of brogues and embelished flat sandals/shoes just to still have the glitz and glamour1
