Youth turns out to be far less exciting and far more unstable than we expect.
When we realize the weight of our lives, the weakness within ourselves, we feel small and suffer.
There is something important about these difficulties and that is for whom we overcome them.
Recently I began to strive for youth with an open mind, not getting trapped inside my own self,
rather than youth dedicated to worrying about what's to come and planning only for my future.
I hope the young people, including myself, get to make the time on our hands most interesting and meaningful,
and stop obsessing over how hurt we have been in the past, how different we are from others at the moment,
and how successful we push ourselves to become in the future.

青春は期待ほどワクワクもせず、予想よりもはるかに不安に感じられる時間だと思います。
人生の重さ、自分自身の弱さを感じるたびに苦しくて萎縮されます。
しかし、このすべての困難を、誰のために乗り越えるかが、本当に大事だと思います。
最近になって、自分だけのために将来を計画して悩む青春よりは、自分の中に閉じ込められないで開かれた青春を過ごしたい思います。
私をはじめ多くの若者が、傷ついた過去の自分、他人と比較される現在の自分、成功した未来の自分に閉じ込められないで、より意味のある楽しい時間を作っていくことができればと思います。
우효입니다.
청춘은 기대만큼 설레지도 않고, 예상보다 훨씬 더 불안하게 느껴지는 시간인 것 같습니다.
인생의 무게, 나 자신의 연약함을 깨달을 때마다 아프고 위축됩니다.
하지만 이 모든 어려움은 누구를 위해 이겨내는가가 정말 중요한 것 같습니다.
요즘 들어서 나 자신만을 위해 미래를 계획하고 고민하는 청춘보다는 자기 안에 갇히지 않는 열린 청춘을 보내고 싶다는 생각을 합니다.
저를 비롯한 많은 젊은이들이 상처받은 과거의 나, 남과 비교되는 현재의 나, 성공한 미래의 나에 갇히거나 얽매이지 않는, 좀 더 의미 있고 재미있는 시간을 만들어 갈 수 있으면 좋겠습니다.

원래는 DAY 버전을 더 좋아했었는데 들으면 들을수록 NIGHT 버전이 더 끌리게 되네용, 새벽에 하늘위에서 수영하는 기분이에요
표현이 귀엽네요 ㅎㅎ

for people comparing this to kpop and shitting on kpop. this is not kpop. two different genres. shes is/was indie and 1thek features alot of indie singers. this sound is her signiture sound. and songs on youth have been made across kpop as well. if you only listen to the tittle track of a comeback, ofcourrse you wont know what the rest of the songs in the album include. many kpop artists too have created music with messages similar to this.
sooooo what i am saying is: stop comparing and judging and enjoy this beautiful lady's remarkable talent. live in the moment of this song, follow the presice message she is trying to make.

K-pop isn't a genre of music, K stands for korea and pop for pop. Analysing music, pop isn't a music genre, pop stands for popular, pop music is popular music = trend. Pop today is electronic music, r&b and trap.
So k-pop means Korean music, that isn't a music genre.
This song is k-pop because is Korean and musically is electro pop.

청춘에 대해서 막연한 동경심을 품다 막상 청춘이 된지 이제 5년이라는 시간이 흘렀는데 햇수를 거듭할수록 느껴지는 바가 점점 또렷해 집니다. 꿈을포기하는 방법도 배웠고 처음으로 내가 좋아하는 사람과 헤어지는 방법도 배웠고 스스로 고독해지는 방법도 배웠는데 핀이 정확하게 맞아갈때쯤 저는 어떤 모습일까요 허허헣!! 여러가지로 고민도 많고 힘든시기에 청춘이라는 제목을 가진노래는 청춘에게 힘이되네요! (하지만 원래 우효의 팬이라는건 함정)

If anyone is curious, the only difference between the DAY and NIGHT music videos that I noticed, is that this one is a bit longer, so it uses some scenes longer (but no new scenes), and some of the blurring effects are less used. Music wise, this has more of an edm vibe with the electronic instruments in the background rather than guitar and drums in the other.

I feel like both the Day and Night songs and music videos capture the strange melancholy of youth, yet depict a beautiful aspect of hope. The imagery of luminosity fits amazingly well with the lyrics of 'i want to be your beautiful star'

I don't know what the lyrics are, I don't understand Korean at all, yet somehow both versions of this song connect with me on a level that I haven't experienced before.
