His aim might actually mess up if he plays other legends because you hit from the legends eye not any fixed point so it might be a bit harder to aim but your right this guy is a beast
Same, I noticed the long fence with the short straggler off to the side seems to be very important for him when someone ends up trying to push him in the back he uses that one to set his next barricade instead of finishing the circuit
It looks like the teams he's fighting should try to bring down her ult if they can. He's still good without the fences, but his ult is just giving him fence after fence.
I’ve seen some clips from his enemies’ POVs and they know that’s the assignment yet they still get punished.. his regen placement is just as strategic as everything else he does 🤌🏻
Thanks Toodot! Something we learned is we need to be "warmed up" to each other before we start recording, so we played some games before this one. Also I think we enjoyed this video the most, so we will look for more unique things to watch!
@@saltedbleach4512how’s it cap lol. He’s the one who definitely made it his thing and he’s known for it. Definitely popularized it. Who knows who invented it
I feel like a dope follow up to this would be you guys hopping in game and trying to use Watson and these strats for a few games and seeing how it goes
YES! He gets it!! When the guy said that Wattson is forcing you to make a choice, that is exactly right! That’s why I love to play as her. If you appropriately fence, you really limiting the opponents choices and you can play accordingly.
yeah, I think that's something Wattson and Caustic have in common in those certain scenarios--- and sometimes other legends but those two in particular Maybe also Catalyst I guess that's why they're the Control legends lol Rampart: am I a joke to you?
i died to lamic on the streamer building and although i didn't hit the fences it limited where i could play so much that i didn't really had cover while he had, dude mastered this playstyle and its incredibly frustrating to fight against, unless you literally leave the building he is at and waits for him to be on the open you're in for a long fight with him in a building
as a wattson main, whos completely inspired by lamic, watching him still feels the same way "what does he have we dont, why doesnt my wattson look like that" even as a wattson main istg watching lamic looks like his wattson just gets twice the utility and half the cooldowns i dont get how he optimizes her so well
Tbh my fence placements and thinking 10 steps ahead are on par with him but thats pretty much it. Ive always wondered what I'd look like if My aim and movement were top tier and i had more time to play the game. Well here it is...and i love it ❤❤❤❤
I love lamic. Not only is he insane with wattson, but he has great guides and tips for playing her. Also, you comment on the mantle jump, he spent so long both on and off stream learning it and he's become insane about it.
Its weird to me- when watson was revealed i never once thought camp a door or pre trap doors. I have always been a rush player in many games making my defensive game my weakest part, however ive ppayed league of ledgends and immediately remembered Irelia and how her skill 1 is the same but it applys stun for irrelia where as watson has a valuble slowdown. I genuinely thought i would see more players using watsons fences as an irellia esk move with the benifet of dropping half of the ability at any time (meaning you still pre trap but you actively use the second fance/skill for the stun/slow respectively to the champ) Seeing how he plays is just like watching an active irelia main. Always using prediction and active information to land the crowd control effectively allowing for more time to land extra damage
This is the first video I've seen from you guys, got recommended it while just browsing since I watched the new Resurrection trailer, and you guys work very well together. The commentary is absolutely lovely to hear and super understandable in all means. I feel like I'm learning new skills from you guys explaining whats happening in such a quick amount of time. Definitely got my sub.
Being a wattson comes from understanding that the trap doesn't deploy until you step out of it, so he drops straight lines that are inside of him, and then he activates it by side stepping. I can't wrap my brain around it but yeah, the ones who do it are nutty big brainers.
even if i don't make it happen everytime i think it's a very intresting way to play apex because it really change the way u thinking ig and also its help a lot to finish a squad without being disrespect by other team. making apex a better game because the mechanic skill just unlimited wit this
After just one minute of watching I see what makes him so God teir and I'm super jealous. I like wattson but just like most other wattson players, I generally try to play defensive and use the fence as a way to hold my ground. This guy uses 3 main components. 1) his keybinds. His fences are on his thumb button on his mouse and im assuming his scroll wheel has weapon switch and reload or holster or something. He can be super quick without sacrificeing much thought to it. 2) his movemet and aim is amazing. Id be scared to play this guy with any character, let alone wattson! And the biggest one is step 3. He ALWAYS has at least one node not being used and is always 3 steps ahead. He uses fences as an offense tool. Using his movement, he consuses his enemies, and using hia GOD teir fence placement, lures them right into his traps. He plays around the fences and uses them offensely to block off key areas first, then gets them to go where he wants, walking right into the trap he just set up before during the confusing movement phase. He's playing mental chess with these guys. Always staying 3 or 4 fences ahead, utilizing the enemies fear of the fences to his advantage and luring them right into his traps. Absolutely amazing ❤❤❤
You actually never have to holster your gun as watson just switch to your tactical and when your done placing or need your gun press your tactical button again and youll have your gun out
Well i guess your semi holstering your gun due to both hands being used for tactical. Also what i mean by you never having to fully holster your gun you can activate your tactical run with it out(which is pretty much the same speed with your gun fully holstered) when roaming. if you dont want the tactical to be out 247 try mixing it up by repeatedly activating/deactivating your tactical(the animations are pretty fun with you rubbing your hands together and clapping over and over😂). Add some slide jumps, can pull off quick zigzags, etc can be pretty fun then when you need your gun deactivate your tactical and boom you pretty much never need to fully holster your gun
i know its a year old video, but i been playing wattson and about 7:20 him "changing to his fences and gun a lot during fights" there's actually a really interesting fact with wattson: her fences come out IMMEDIATELY. like when you click Q it instantly brings her fences up. and her fences are the same weight as having your weapon holstered so he is kind of "holstering" his weapon every time he brings his fences up, because it acts as not having a weapon making you faster. if you get used to this "putting down fences" and "holstering to run faster" become the same action, hence placing fences during the fights a lot easier (specially with his movement) im not saying this shit's easy to do, im just saying how it may be slightly easier to process
Theres also a clip from Lamic which looks like a lot like this sequence at 02:45 where he actually killed Faide in a game. Faide even threw a shoutout to Lamic for his brutal fences :D
It feels weird to have the 'why are you here' be related to faide so much, I did it so much before I even knew who faide was, and it's kinda funny actually, cos my friend pointing out how I scream and yell out like him is what actually introduced me to him and opened a whole ass new play style for me.
I Mained Watson for over 10 sessions. ...i was never this good. Holy shit. Lol. Like I'm proud of how skilled i was, Certainly. But i know when I'm outclassed. XD
Hey played in the second tier of pro league. But he slept in one day and missed their matches then left the team. Idk the whole story but it was sad for his teammates. They played as a duo and gave it a good shot but didnt qualify.
its levels to wattson and hes on like ultra instinct lvl spring traps building WHILE shooting finishing traps node control, also triangles are like the strongest shape in many ways from actual construction to zoning really well. im still learning the door traps and stair traps and still struggle and i do high iq plays for being on controller
Love that he knows every exakt place ppl are around corners, specialy with so much noice going on 🤔. Ppl are so blinded by streamer starstrucks these days.
I have been on the opposing side of this guy a few times (same region and i play late when he happens to be on as well) and its so FRUSTRATING!!!!! Near perfect fence placements, and crack aim and position. I dont believe I have ever taken him down.
