When I finally convinced myself to give NFS Unbound a chance and I see this selection of cars (not all) but most of them are horrible choices... These games are no fun anymore.
I just realized that these blacklist cars are tributes from some the racers in story mode. They modded their cars to resemble the 15 blacklist members.
I can understand the disappointment, and there is a reason for it: in the game files, there are already references that in fact these were not supposed to be the Blacklist bosses, but Lakeshore racers who, inspired by the stories from Rockport, decided to make vinyls of the bosses on their cars. This can also be understood if you look at JV's LaFerrari, which clearly has Shimizu's name written on it.
yeahppv ,, because the damn FYCKING license's and manufacturer's rights.. since then games development dropped behind multiple % it's probably cost from thousands of usd up to 85000$ or even more to acquire the rights to use those older specific models again also most licenses isn't permanent at all
A good amount make sense, imo. Only 3 or 4 I maybe question real hard. The others, I can see it. Would be nice to see the SLR McLaren again. Love that thing.

The worst part about this its they literally have some original cars on the game and they make the blacklist how they want. The RX8 its literally in the game, but for some reason they put the GTR on the Izzy Car

@benjamincorotan5054 That's a good guess, but the real reason is because these Black List cars aren't the actual Black List characters cars or belong to them or are suppose to be them. These cars belong to the Lake Shore racers, they created vinyls of the original Black List cars because they were inspired by them, and wanted to pay tribute to them. This is why they made their cars this way, if you look at the in game files you can see this. This also ties the NFS Universe together like they have in the past showing that all of them exist in the same Universe and recognize each other. It's a pretty cool nod to the games. The only bad thing is the fact that they didn't present it well, you have to dig through code and lots of information from other sources to find this out. So in a way they did do the presentation poorly, but the reason for the cars being the way they are is pretty cool.
Well, the RX8 IRL is a BIG pothole to anyone's pocket, but, I really wish that she had either the New Miata or the 370z. But the GT-R R35 isn't look that bad; but; I guess it could have been better choice for Vic's new replacement of its old Supra and give it the 350z to Izzy instead...But Ronnie's case; it's a big downgrade...

Also in NFS MW 5-1-0 Vic drives Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Taz Mazda3. Ronnie on the other hand in 5-1-0 drives the street BMW M3 GTR with player's livery which is funny.
Its a good spin on Lakeshore drivers being inspired by the Rockport Blacklist. It does have it flaws. Just wish they somehow added more into the single player explaining all of this after the Blacklisted Delivery mission instead of just giving us a clue about Razor and the Blacklist. Rating: 7/10
In fact, the reason it has the beta vinyl on it is because that was side of the accident when Cross was catching player in NFS Carbon, that was the last time the M3 was seeing in history mode. So it makes sense why it has the 2006 sticker on the window and the damaged area was with betas replacement parts. Also, the lights are faded yellowing. They're not yellow from being tinted but for sitting.

I don't think some of the cars are that bad choices personally (Sonny isn't that bad, Vic with 350Z is not bad either), though I will say that they could have done a more accurate car selection for some, like Huracan for Ming, or Viper for JV, or DB11 for Ronnie, and why on earth does Earl have a PORSCHE of all things when the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX is in the game? The wraps themselves are also pretty good, aside from that of JV and Earl which...just don't feel right (not saying they're bad designs but they don't exactly feel faithful is all I'm saying). The one in M3 GTR feels kind of cool, given it has this "salvaged" vibe to it. All in all, it's not bad, but there's a lot of missed potential left here.
Bro that Webster cars are very cool, it matches with the car too. I like the vinyl implementation of the earl cars even if it's the wrong car but i enjoyed
I think much better they have downloadable “Black List Wrap” so we can incorporate it to the desired cars we want. Webster for Corvette Z06, Izzy for Mazda RX-8 so on.
I wish they would have done the same vinyls but on the same CAR BRAND but newer/different year/generation like I dunno Sonny for example would have been cooler imo if it was done on a newer Golf Jewels Mustang fits btw because she had a mustang and now the vinyl was done on a newer mustang but still, mustang at the base. The 718 Porsche is also a cool idea since it's still a porsche but different model
I’m surprised that you caught that, and that idea was what I expected if anything at all. Which is why I think barons was great, and might be one of the best tributes on here. If they kept that formula going, people probably wouldn’t have been upset, but I see why they did it

Idgi I know licenses could be an issue but there is a Golf GTI in the game for Sonny’s car. An evo for Earl’s but they use different cars. They get Jewel a mustang..
Eventhough it's not the actual Blacklist that drove this but among all of the ones that still maintained their original respective cars, Big Lou is the only one with a gen downgrade.
In my opinion, this blacklist cars is my favorite, the example is Izzy's GTR, Earl's 911 RSR 2015 (literally is a bodykit of a race car) Jewels Mustang GT 2015, Bull's Mclaren 600LT, Webster's Corvette C8 Stingray, also there are BL cars that dissapoining me like JV LaFerrari, Vic's 350Z, Kaze's C63 AMG, Ronnie's GTR, literraly didn't have the correct cars XD
I understood why they changed the cars for certain blacklist characters. The first player won all of the blacklist members back in Rockport, so over the years, the blacklist members upgraded their vehicles to newer different stuff which makes it more realistic in my opinion.
guys i’m surprised most of you didn’t even read the patchnotes about the “inspired cars from the Blacklist”. They were obviously from the story mode, but because EA is so lazy enough to the point that they didn’t even took the Golf GTI and customized it to resemble more accurately Sonny’s car (same with the others).
This is like a hint for the next NFS, next year will be the 20 anniversary for NFS MW, also the collab between NFS and BMW kinda feel like a serious thing. i know you guys might think that i should just play the old NFS MW but i really hope that the next NFS will be the continuity of NFS MW or NFS MW Remake. also the woman who play as Cross unnamed partner tweeted that the NFS MW Remake is in the making and then she deleted it shortly.
I like to say that blacklist is different with some of them going newer cars except for jewels isn't new mustang but 2015 so maybe i am wrong on this one but at least we got m3 gtr too anyway thanks TheBoss Gaming for this video and have a nice thanksgiving bye now later.
Its small stuff like this that the new developers fail to take into consideration. When I was a kid playing most wanted those blacklist cars had a certain aura to them, now it just looks like they hit the randomize button on customization 😂😂
Why it's so difficult to leave the Blacklist racers comeback on us? Putting elements (cars and vinyls) for us to customize blacklist racers would be easier and the happiest thing as before. Most Wanted Fans would buy those DLCs for a reasonable price.

@ I am aware that it has part of the Beta livery, but what confuses is: Didn’t the player in NFS Unbound deliver the M3 GTR to someone calling themselves “The Blacklist”? If so then what is this car? It’s certainly not the same car seeing as it does look the same and it has been left abandoned for some time it seems. And also, how did the other M3 go from Palm City to Lakeshore? I don’t know, EA really needs to explain the chronological timeline of the M3 GTR’s story, as well as which games are canon to it’s story.

I don't care how much work was put into these, I just don't think they undestand things right. Like, okay you added the vinyls, cool... but it's not that 'hurr-durr the cars have wrong bodykits' (like it was in some previous games afair), no. It's 'yeah, the vinyls... cool!.. Placed on a completely different cars where said vinyls don't even fit in properly' kinda situation. So, again... cool, the vinyls - but why the cars are wrong then? If you go for Nostalgia, go full-sent on it, bring back THOSE LEGENDARY cars with those EXACT bodykits & parts, and stuff. Because - I know, shocking - those vinyls were designed in a specific way, to fit on a specific body of a specific car driven by a specific person whose character was emanating through both their car & their applied vinyls. Like, if not doing things properly then why try to half-a$$ things then? Because it all ends up looking either cringe or completely pathetic, and frustrating, and "omahgawd we tried our best the people who worked on it were passionate etc. etc." - okay, I don't care tho because the end result is just a lazy nostalgia bait. Eff these kinda shenanigans tbh. My message to these 'developers' is "Either make something new, or don't make anything at all, because you're clearly just unable to replicate good old days' stuff, so just get your hands off of it then. my opinion on the cars: 15 verry good but i liked the original golf better 14 ehhh its not bad but the is300 was better 13 ok but the livery is good on it (my headcanon is he saw the prices of the supra jump up and sold his for a lot and then bought the 350z) 12 livery is perfect for that car BUT How does the no.12 on the blacklist has a better car then most of the other with a freaking 2017 GTR 11 almost the same as the old one but perfekt cours of that 10 why a convertible without that and a bit more yellow on the flame looking straight at it would be cool 9 2 porsche in a row nice but the livery fits soo good 8 i like the older mustang more but this is also a verry good remake 7 not a big mercedes fan and i like the older car better so ehh 6 its the same nothing fancy but ok but the problem was like in 2005 where its to simple in my opinion maybe white stripes around the gray would make it a bit better but thats my opinion 5 like the older car more but its still an amazing livery 4 JV made a massive traction upgrade with this one and it looks verry good 3 wtf how does a livery fit nothing at all on this car in my eyes but the old car was also not good in my opinion 2 to clean just like the old car but its not bad 1its the broken down gtr from mw/ carbon what else do i have to say All in all it gives me big hopes that whe get amazing remakes of the old blacklist cars if whe ever get a remake from the 2.nd best game of this series (underground 2 is slightly better in my eyes)
I knew they would mess up with Most Wanted... You can't just take one of the best games from your franchise and do an okay-ish job with it. Same with the Underground update, the drag races don't feel anywhere near as intense. While it's cool that they put effort into it, it just doesn't come close to the original games and now who knows when we'll get to see Most Wanted again. They should have waited until they got a better game with a more accurate car list.
I'm not gonna I'm not a fan. Every blacklist member has a new version of thier car avaliable that we could've got except the supra and lexus is 300 because Toyota don't want thier cars in game
... So lockdown is supposed to be the big masterpiece for unbound and include tributes to some of the most famous need for speed cars out there. What is criterion's big master plan? Use current car assets and put liveries on them that the community surely beat them to the punch on two years ago. Brilliant move.

His mustang was still in most wanted and I honestly remember him more for that than the M3 because originally it belonged to me, the player.
This is so bad, whoever did this didnt play the original MW and didnt understand the characther. No! Sonny would not use an EK9, No! Earl wouldnt jump on a 911 It feels lazy, like "random car selectiong go and put the livery there"

Its small stuff like this that the new developers fail to take into consideration. When I was a kid playing most wanted those blacklist cars had a certain aura to them, now it just looks like they hit the randomize button on customization 😂😂

Putting elements (cars and vinyls) for us to customize blacklist racers would be easier and the happiest thing as before. Most Wanted Fans would buy those DLCs for a reasonable price.

@ I am aware that it has part of the Beta livery, but what confuses is: Didn’t the player in NFS Unbound deliver the M3 GTR to someone calling themselves “The Blacklist”? If so then what is this car? It’s certainly not the same car seeing as it does look the same and it has been left abandoned for some time it seems. And also, how did the other M3 go from Palm City to Lakeshore? I don’t know, EA really needs to explain the chronological timeline of the M3 GTR’s story, as well as which games are canon to it’s story.

I don't care how much work was put into these, I just don't think they undestand things right. Like, okay you added the vinyls, cool... but it's not that 'hurr-durr the cars have wrong bodykits' (like it was in some previous games afair), no. It's 'yeah, the vinyls... cool!.. Placed on a completely different cars where said vinyls don't even fit in properly' kinda situation.
So, again... cool, the vinyls - but why the cars are wrong then? If you go for Nostalgia, go full-sent on it, bring back THOSE LEGENDARY cars with those EXACT bodykits & parts, and stuff. Because - I know, shocking - those vinyls were designed in a specific way, to fit on a specific body of a specific car driven by a specific person whose character was emanating through both their car & their applied vinyls.
Like, if not doing things properly then why try to half-a$$ things then? Because it all ends up looking either cringe or completely pathetic, and frustrating, and "omahgawd we tried our best the people who worked on it were passionate etc. etc." - okay, I don't care tho because the end result is just a lazy nostalgia bait.
Eff these kinda shenanigans tbh. My message to these 'developers' is "Either make something new, or don't make anything at all, because you're clearly just unable to replicate good old days' stuff, so just get your hands off of it then. Thanks".

15 verry good but i liked the original golf better
14 ehhh its not bad but the is300 was better
13 ok but the livery is good on it (my headcanon is he saw the prices of the supra jump up and sold his for a lot and then bought the 350z)
12 livery is perfect for that car BUT How does the no.12 on the blacklist has a better car then most of the other with a freaking 2017 GTR

I knew they would mess up with Most Wanted... You can't just take one of the best games from your franchise and do an okay-ish job with it. Same with the Underground update, the drag races don't feel anywhere near as intense. While it's cool that they put effort into it, it just doesn't come close to the original games and now who knows when we'll get to see Most Wanted again. They should have waited until they got a better game with a more accurate car list.
Tbh both the nostalgia-bait and the obsession with these 2 times ruined the series.

... So lockdown is supposed to be the big masterpiece for unbound and include tributes to some of the most famous need for speed cars out there. What is criterion's big master plan? Use current car assets and put liveries on them that the community surely beat them to the punch on two years ago. Brilliant move.
