Nice job. Pretty piece. I like your proportions, thickness, rim detail, and finish. You have a good eye for aesthetics. I will def be looking for more of your work. Thanks for sharing notes on tools and finish. Here in the NE I have never heard of bay laurel. Must be a southern shrub that can grow into a small tree?
It is Bay as in Bay Leaf Laurel one of the spices or a seasoning and the trees get very big. I have seen one here that was about 4.5 feet across at the base and 40- 50 feet tall. Thanks for the comment Adam take care!
Great looking piece. I use Yorkshiregrit a lot but I've started using "Cut & Polish" from #chestnutproducts, have you ever tried it? Regards, wooddude.uk

We have tons of it here in California. Bay Laurel & coastal oak are like weeds here.
Beautiful bowls. And my tools often tail out on the curtain in my small space too!
Thanks Valerie!
Both bowls turned out great. I may have to make a bowl from some of the other bay laurel I have. The chatoyance is amazing!
Thanks Stephen!

I sometimes find you sound levels to be VERY low and hard to hear, but especially so on this last video.
Thank you very much for that input I am using a new editor that has some sound issues and so does my camera
