Honestly, I am all here for a Ninjago live action adaptation. As long as they respect the source material and adapt the pilot seasons of the series, then I’m all here. Ninjago actually makes sense because in the show, there’s no Lego at all, so it can be easily adapted. I have faith. Plus, it could help bring in new fans of the show and give Ninjago more fans into the fandom and enjoy the series.
For me personally, I'd love to see this, along with a movie for most if not all of LEGO's old franchises, such as Galaxy Squad, Ultra Agents, Power Miners, and so on. That would also probably revive LEGO's in-house themes, but overall, the chance of ANY of this happening is fairly low, sadly.
YEAH! The world of HF could be easily fit in the movie. They could even work with an original idea of the Villian factory under the Hero Factory. And Makuhero could be the twist villian who creates a problem, the villians, and then sells the solution in the form of heroes.
I wouldn't call the original Lego movie a live action/animation hybrid, it's an animated movie with live action segments. I'd argue the Lego movie 2's biggest failure was leaning too hard on the live action side of things.
They specifically said that the new Lego movies will be life actions. The old Lego movies were animated with life action inserted into some scenes. That’s two entirely different things.
Was worried about Ninjago being live action, but then I remembered that the show is hardly Lego. The character designs? Yes (though they never acknowledge it like the movies do), but the world? Not a single brick or stud to be found.
Mate, it’s only nature, like the trees, grass, water, smoke, etc. everything else, like the buildings and ,of course, the characters are LEGO. But the cat thing is still kinda weird. But I do like that movie, Maybe it’s just nostalgia or something.
I am completely down for a new Ninjago movie that is actually respectful to the source material. Ninjago though is really cartoony though. I mean 70% of the villains are very much not human like.
A live action Ninjago adapting the pilot episodes with the choreographers from Shang chi would be pretty awesome if done right. If a live action one piece can be good, so can this.
To be fair, the original Lego movie had live action scenes, so I wonder if they’ll go with Lego figures come to life and interact with the child that plays with them? And the figures are animated like stop motion? Honestly not a terrible premise, it just wouldn’t be as groundbreaking as the original Lego movie.
@ that’s literally what I was thinking that it’s just a Toy Story ripoff, but pretty much every movie just rips off something else in one way or another
Ninjago as a ripoff of Toy Story? Terrible idea. Human actors in colorful ninja robes using Spinjitsu and using elemental powers? Now that's what we'd want to see.
I understand that Ninjago is Lego's biggest franchise, but a live action Lego movie is just a bad idea, even for the Lego Ninjago movie. The fun part of the original movie, the batman movie and a bit of the sequel, was that everything was made of Lego, water and the sky, all special affects, fire even used those little flame pieces. The two biggest problems with the Ninjago movie were that it didn't feel enough like Ninjago, but it also didn't feel enough like Lego and those 3 live action movies are going to make that 10 times worse.
TBH, Piece by Piece ought to have been released in this past summer because of setting and also because more audiences would probably have seen the film (and also because most of the scenes have beaches in them too.) But at the same time, it kinda had the vibe of an Art House / Film Festival film (which probably would have done good there too.) It's a good film, tasteful too. But definitely should have been released in the summer.
I don't think anyone really gets how good Ninjago is. I recommend to any who hasn't seen the show. Start with season 8 or the new dragons rising series
First Minecraft, now Lego? Hollywood's obsession with making animated media into live action is really getting old. Speed Racers was the only time this actually worked.
I usually reserve judgement until more information releases, but I do have questions and concerns. Namely, who wanted this? Who is this for? I'm a big LEGO fan and I enjoyed most of the LEGO movies, but even I didn't ask for this (unless by "live action" they mean stop-motion, then I would be more keenly interested). Regardless, Ninjago *could* work, if they knew what they were doing and cared about the franchise.
4:34 My only other thought, at least for the ninjago movie is, what if we had live action ninjas dressed up as ninjago characters and having really bad sfx for the spinjitzus
Ninjago live action, well you know, it could work, especially with the original writters Theres too many directions they could take and we dont really know so i wont judge I do hope theres some freaking sick looking battles villains and vehicles at least
Ninjago has a good storyline that the first movie kind of failed to adapt, so I'm excited for another chance at a Ninjago movie. However I feel like the casting choices in live action could be extremely controversial depending on who they choose
NOOOOO I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO WRITE A NINJAGO REMAKE MOVIE :( it was going to be a retelling of the pilot but including foreshadowing information from things that were written after the first few seasons. it was going to STAY animated and it was going to be more mature with a slightly more serious tone, with Jay being the one who mainly quips and freaks out, Cole is sarcastic, Zane is serious, and Kai is a hothead and *not* an idiot like he has been made to be recently. anyways... oh well
How can you adapt a Lego movie in live action?! Let alone three of them. This just doesn’t work, it’s just a disaster waiting to happen! Keep them fully animated!
I used to be obsessed with Ninjago. My middle school self would flip her lid if she knew they were gonna make a live action adaptation of Ninjago. I’m definitely gonna be seeing it when it comes out!
I have a feeling that a lot of these Lego projects in development are all going to depend on how well the Minecraft movie goes in one case the Minecraft movie is a success because of people going to it to see how bad it is or people hear that it’s bad and no one goes to it
Lego has already made movies that don't really dive into the Lego side of things. If we look at the Bionicle movies from the mid-2000s they pretty much only stayed with the in-world lore and didn't make much of a deal of the characters being constructed action figurines.
Tbf with the Lego movies they’re prolly gonna have to put in more effort than the mc one since you can’t just slap colors around for a Ninjago adaptation which would have to be more story based
I highly doubt that would happen. Minecraft just doesn't work as a movie. Ninjago could translate to live-action perfectly fine without using other worlds or any LEGO gimmicks.
4 Live-action LEGO movies actually. 1) The Ninjago one 2) Jake Kasdan doing one based off the script that was rumoured a while back that is a ripoff of the Playmobil movie 3) Joe Cornish writing and directing one 4) Patty Jenkins directing one she wrote with Geoff Johns
Hear me out: LEGO VIKINGS!!!! Wait, that could just be a generic historical movie about Vikings and some mythical monsters. . . . In all seriousness, I think a “Mars Mission” or “Knight’s Kingdom II” film would be AMAZING. The lore and plot line of those themes were surprisingly deep for LEGO.
What do you mean "Live Action Lego"? They're literally plastic characters - why use actual plastic instead of animating it? Or are there going to be actual people within the Lego environments? The Lego movies were already loose with live action, an example being the cat in Ninjago.
I was gonna have faith for a cartoon style Lego movie like the style from 2014, but having it live action, that's the biggest Worries I had, like it might end up like the ugly sonic and Minecraft movie
Nope. These live-action movies based on LEGO IPs would actually do a whole lot better than The Minecraft Movie. Many live-action properties like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and Jurassic Park have been adapted to LEGO. So why can't Ninjago be adapted to live-action? If LEGO City Undercover were to have a live-action adaptation, it would make for a great cop comedy and Chase McCain would become the most badass movie action hero because he skydived from the freaking moon to save Natalia.
But again if the minecraft movie does end up being good and the live action LEGO movies being bad (not saying these will happen but it’s a possibility) then I’m surprised
@@AxenthedogOG But there is an even higher chance of The Minecraft Movie ending up being bad going by how the trailer presented it. We saw how bad the CGI cube animals looked. The blocky world of Minecraft is just not fit for live-action, so they had four people from the real world crossover to make it "live-action." Ninjago doesn't have to go in that direction. It has a human cast, which makes it perfect for live-action. People who watched the show have noticed that there was not much LEGOs besides the minifigures, so Ninjago doesn't even need the LEGO world. Sure, the name combined the words "Ninja" and "LEGO" but who cares about the name's origin? If anything, it makes the title "LEGO Ninjago" sound redundant. And I'm thinking a live-action adaptation of LEGO City Undercover could make a great movie despite taking place in LEGO City.
The new Ninjago movie will have ninja actors and no LEGO. The only thing about the movie that would be LEGO is that LEGO would be credited as the creator of Ninjago.
