Version 1 def the catchiest but the radio edit was also interesting. It was a combo of both versions and with a better tempo of v2. v1 is more earfriendly and in tune to the britney sound we know. i imagine a remix version of v1 would be played on edm based radios or clubs. i wonder what happened with the other verses bec she only sang the hook.

Pitbull decided to not release it because they wouldn’t be able to promote it w/ Britney not being able to hang out, make videos, etc with them. Same reason why he used Camilla instead of Britney with “Hey Ma”
@@KartiMarti it’s so sad that Pitbull really wanted to collab with Britney. But he made the right choice. It would’ve been impossible to promote a song with Britney due to her restraints. That’s what Iggy claimed happened with Pretty Girls. That is would’ve done better if it was promoted better and Iggy hinted that it was the companies fault for lack of promotion. I believe that’s also why SMS with Miley never got a music video as well though Miley really wanted it. When Britney is free, and if she is willing, it would be nice to get a collab with Pitbull and any other artist that she wants to collaborate with without restraints.

What's annoying is Jeff Duran, one of the producers, said a 5 track CD was released with the song on it to promote Blackout so there is a finished version out there somewhere. He also claimed to have posted it on YT and some torrent sites but was forced to take it. So there are copies of it out there somewhere but the question is where. He did say last year he would be willing to post it but wanted Britney's permission to do it.

These songs were years before she was in the conservatorship, that album was about transitioning from teen to adult. Lonely was about moving on from a relationship where the boy made her feel like she was single. And overprotected was about the media telling her what she could and couldn't do cause she was a young women in business. Lol

They were recorded in 2018 right before the Piece Of Me Tour. That's why Pitbull raps about selling out arenas in Europe with Britney. He was the opening act for the European leg.
I feel they both sound generic, the dance version sounds more britney and pitbull. But the salsa sounding one sounds like the trend every artist is following atm where they need to add some Spanish influence to every song. They are both ok. I just wish she had more vocals lol 😆
