There's many promo only and cut-outs. Many early cds had limited runs. There are many greatest hits collections which were bought for that one rare track not on cd. I was at your store a year ago, there were only a handful of titles in the classic soul category beyond an early 10 track best of.6,000 classic hardbop jazz titles with complete catalogs of Bluenote, Prestige, Riverside, and Savoy. Full catalogs of key artists and plenty of obscure one-off's of sidemen like Harold Vick. Mosaic boxes and Japanese pressings abound. The OJC catalog is ten years deleted while Capitol/Bluenote is now licensing cd-r's to whatever company. The tide is about ready to turn on the LP and cassette revival with it's 10% defect rate. When it does swing back to cds, many of those OJCs will cost a hefty $50 bill. Furthermore, there's only a few online sellers offering the Fresh sounds, Gambit, and Lonehill jazz discs. Supply is tightening for quality titles all around.4,000 others include smooth jazz (some in demand early titles, reissues), 1% country, 1% rare early 90's singles, 1% Black gospel.This I mention to moisten the palette as it's not for sale. Discogs estimated value is around $500K. I acquired all of this over 20 or so years on average record store wage. Deep pockets and weak knees are two tools of the trade!
