That's why I cut at a different angle every time I mow. I have some Ballard gold blades they cut very nice but my Predator blades have more lift and throws the discharge much farther.

So to clear up some misconceptions it’s not that your stock blades are making more lift it’s that there lifting more and over filling your deck for the speed your going your mid rise blades are doing better because there’s not lifting as high they stripe a little less but they cut a little longer and more evenly because you not overfilling the deck
Also your not comparing 1 to o one blades in size or use case of course there going to have a wide performance gap
The blades are bent up because the down pressure from the lift flexes them down

I bought some for my X-One 60" and they sure do throw the grass out further! They also do cut better than my oem blades.

I have used 3 different Hustler Super Z’s with the 60-inch VX4 deck over the past 7 years. All came with the 3-inch-wide OEM blades. I have mowed commercially since 1989 and liked these blades better than any that I have used. They cut well and run 4 to 5 times longer before sharpening is needed.

Yeah the Oem are hard to beat. I’m going to try the Ballard gold when available for comparison

The Ballard hi rise. Has so much suction and cuts everything at full speed and we use wright zk mowers and mow around 11mph

I find oems barely have any lift. Don’t believe me try the puddle challenge. Run your mower over a puddle at 3 inches or 4 whatever. Oem won’t suck uo any water. The Ballard hi rise will suck all the water out of that puddle

@@jaybrown29 that may be so with a Wright mower but hustler runs a much better Oem blade than most. Go back and watch the first video.

Has anyone notice a very loud rumble with the Hustler Super-Z OEM Fusion blades? I've read in some forums others had that noise also. I switched to different oregon and ballard blades and the roar went away. Wearing ear muff type hearing protection was unbearable so I went to inserted ear plugs when mowing with them. I often use the smaller skinnier blades for X-blade setup but this spring I stuck the OEMs on and wow it was almost ear piercing type of a rumble roar. blades were balanced and sharp. I've got about 60hrs on my Super Z now. I have a set of Ballard Gold to put on next. I think the hi-lift ballards cut a tad better than the razors which are a mid lift when cutting as a single blade setup. I use the razor and ripper for X-blades typically with great results after the spring growth.

Honestly don't know if that matted effect you are getting with the tires is a function of the blades so much or the time of year and height you're cutting. I've found, particularly if you use the same couple of tracks to cut, that this will happen as the year goes on, regardless of the blade, particularly when cutting tall. Have never used the Ballards but have similar experience with other blades and mowers.

I think this is correct. I’m doing testing again now with both Oem and Ballard. I’m starting to think it was just that part of the year. Thanks for your input. I will make a full correction video when I get my full conclusion. However I know for sure they don’t hold up like Oem hustler blades. The gold series may be different

@@americandream_89 I would like to give them a try on my Exmark Lazer. The Exmark comes with a high lift blade, and I’ve tried one that’s even higher lift, but it’s a wider and thicker blade than OEM (looks like your Hustler 3” OEM). With a 25hp machine, I found they rob too much power. The Ballard looks to be the same width and thickness as the OEM Exmark, plus gives the added lift.

I’m waiting on a good review on them and I don’t like the thinner blades eather
Was told they don’t stay sharp at all and sharpen easily but have to keep sharpening for every job
    Not for me

Ive found that a blade is a blade. I run copperheads on my toro because theyre cheaper but almost identical in thickness and whatnot. I did run a set of knockoff blades and bent one the first time i grabbed a tree root. I think hes just putting his name on a blade made by another manufacturer anyway so. I dont have any desire to buy the ballard blades but id try some out if they were free or on deep discount. We go through too many blades and beat the crap out of them too.

All excel factory hustler blades are 3” wide. But I’ve got a video coming out. I think my problem last year end of year was great health. It didn’t have that spring summer reflex to it. Also repetitive Passes over same lines. I know the excel factory hustler blades hood up better but I’m thinking the Ballard are still a great blade. I’ve been sitting with them back and forth this year testing. Both blades cut well.
