Great video. Just a small note - C506, CLP12 and CLP9 have Leslie RS5T's. CLP9's horn was made in the late 2000's and is quite special because it was obtained as a new-old-stock horn from the United States. Had never been used.
We use some, if not ALL of these horns/whistles in the us as well! Took my by surprise when I first watched this. We even have the same crossing bells!
No they’re from my mate Ethan, simply because I wanted CLF1 in this compilation, I was given full permission to use them though. Also says in description.
@@ryemtrains K12 would imply horn bells are mounted on a common manifold. The technically correct term for the setup on the GT-46-ACE locos is KS-1 & KS-2 because both horns are on separate individual manifolds. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the jargon though because the sound is indistinguishable.
The K5UL-AU-LS sounds a lot like a raised letter K5LLA (American) (also, what is the grade/level crossing horn sequence there? For us (🇺🇸) it’s long long short long)
The crossing sequence in Australia is one horn of any length 400m from the crossing and one of any length right before the crossing. Friendly drivers will usually give more than required.
Australian crews seem so much more friendly than the ones I film here in the USA
You get half and half over here.
Some will blow the horn a million times, whereas others only a tiny toot when they need to
Great amount of horns, victoria has such a variety of trains and locos, and you've got some great shots and captures
Thank you
A wonderful collection of horns and whistles awsome video mate👍

A beautiful variety of horns and whistles from Australia. My favorites are the K5LA at 3:14, CLP9's horn and more. Thanks for the variety.
its good to see class 80 in service!
Leslie RS5T is my favourite train horn
2:57
at 1:01 it will always seem weird to see a freight train on skyrail
Some Of the P5s Sound Like Metra P5s! Also Great Video!
Thanks!
Same i live in chicago and naturally love the sound of the Nathan P5
Very professional Ryland
Thank you Harry
10:45 Is my favorite
@@i-Love-steam-trains hehe me too
I just realized how similar AU railroads are to the US
Also with UK crossing railroads
I’ve got to put on a K5UL on a BNSF SD70Ace
1:16 in the us some people consider those units E9 or e8 Australia, Australia calls their E9 different
We call them S class, GM1/GM12 class, 42 class, 421 class or our double ended B class.
Wow I had no Idea Australias trains has American like horns
10:45 voice crack
I think I'm biased, but the vr 5 chime is the best steam whistle ever.
3:09 shave and a haircut
Are the videos at 1:02 and 1:03 your own?

@@ryemtrains ok
Wait who put that K5LA on XR551 at 3:14?
@@OfficialSEIC2K6Not sure, 551’s had it for a little while now
@@OfficialSEIC2K6sounds like a NS K5LA

10:43 definitely a s5t/rs5t
One time comeng i think 635m (ik its an alstom) blew an rvb loudly at me
the "K5LA" is actually classed as a K5LAR24 because bells 2 and 4 are reversed and also we don't have any nathan K2s in australia, only K12s.
I was told by multiple people that GT-46 ACe locomotives have Nathan K2 horns

Can you get an pacific national Mr class in central west nsw pls
Can you a slow get all Sidney sets including the k set before it retires pls
I'll certainly try my best but I don't live in NSW...

The K5UL-AU-LS also kinda sounds like a Nathan P7X

@@ryemtrains nice
We also don’t do horn sequences in Australia anymore there’s like only 1 level crossing in the country that still requires a sequence
For Australia the sequence is short also long long short long and the post to show it has thick lines for long and thin lines for short
10:26 erie doppelganger
I wish the US of A can use these
They do
Didn't know Australia also had bells on there trains
Me neither and I’m Australian
Damn the K5UL-AU-LS sounds super good and very similar to a K5LLA. Also way better than the shitty K5CA-LS in canada.
So true
By far P5
What does the fouled mean
it means its missing a note
It's got a pair of socks shoved in it.
