Great video. Wow 20oz jig...that is pretty heavy for that area. I guess if you have a lot of guys on board and the drift is fast, its safe. But man you can barely feel the fish with that kind of weight 😁
What's the best way to find new water out of Garibaldi we smashed the salmon out of Garibaldi last summer but really struggled to find rock fish we even took a charter hoping they would fish south of the jetty but it ended up going up around cannon beach anyway about how far south is the closest place to find rockfish thx hopefully closer then north we are in a smaller well equipped boat so like to try and stay closer if weather comes up thx for any tips
I just got cable back and found you on #62 on Sunday at 7:30 👍 I agree 100% about the fisheries needing better monitoring. If you go in the straights of Juan De Fuca, the seasons and limits for those fish have been cut WAY down due to low stocks and years of over retention. Obviously you guys were observing the regs and releasing the little guys to grow bigger which is awesome. Keep up the good work. I like that you share information instead of push products!
It sounds like the captain got a bit mixed up about the rockfish species he caught with the olive that he misidentified as a yellow tail and the one he said was a China rockfish but wasn't black and yellow.
Stayed in the Garibaldi motel. 2 weeks.

Thank you Justin. I really like how Pro does a really good job at explaining everything he does as a guide.
Nice to be able to use 3 hooks. Washington has a 2 hook maximum.
Headed north through there look to the right next to the river I helped plant all those trees in the late 70 early 80s.

These guys were fishing around 3 arches. About 7 miles south of the jetty,
What depth were you guys at? Off three arches?

I love that place! Favorite spot on the oregon coast. Except for Gold Beach that is.
Hey! angler West! is that legal to put a Jighead like that on a Shrimp fly in CA too? Thanks!
Sure, just remember it counts a one of your hooks so you might have to eliminate a shrimp fly.
Nice place to fish.
who was the charter with?

Yeah the other one was a quill back
why gaff it when you're releasing it? kind of unnecessary damage to the fish you're not keeping
What charts does he use?
