    Been waiting on this one. Chypre du Nord wears so good on my skin. Having already bought Musk Khabib, I’m not sure I need a bottle of the Chypre but the sweetness/nutmeg may win me over. A perfect fall signature scent for me. Sans F is certainly interesting. Oud Loukoum is slowly growing on me.

      @@TherapeuticFragrance Yeah it’s a little too similar. I really like Chypre. I find it comforting. But not sure it’s different enough to buy a bottle having already bout musk Khabib.

    Brandon,
    Another great review which prompted me to unbox my 6th collection sample box I ordered straight from Bortnikoff and I see what your saying. Mysterious Oud and even Oud Maximus feel much weaker than Oud Loukoum that smells denser, deeper, richer, and more complex (more Oud oil per ml probably). Here is a Clash of the Titans question for you: only one bottle to choose; Oudh Infini from Dusita or Oud Loukoum Bortnikoff? I know which one I would pick.
    BTW, Loukoum is a type of Turkish delight that was my grandpa’s favorite.
    Peace

      I really like the Oud Dmitry used in this. That's still a hard answer to give you. I've heard that Oudh Infini might be reformulated haven't had a chance to sample a newer bottle to check it out. Have saved the tiniest bit from a few years ago to compare. But yeah I think your instinct is best on this one.

    Dear sir, really enjoy your reviews! Ordered Bortnikoff Oud Monarch! It was a blind buy! Was tempted to order Oud Maximus at 1st, then thought maybe Oud Monarch would be more wearable! Which one do you prefer among these two??
    Thank you for the amazing work you are doing!

    Thanks again for the reviews. Busy year... People who like Coup de Foudre and/or Musk Khabib should check out Chypre du Nord. Chypre du Nord has the warm spiciness of Coup de Foudre with the sweetness and cedary dry down of Musk Khabib with just enough bergamot and oakmoss to classify as a chypre. I can't think of a situation where I would reach for Coup de Foudre over Chypre du Nord. They scratch a very similar itch for me.
    The other two fragrances in this collection seem like responses to critics. Bortni-florals getting repetitive? He creates Sans Fleurs. Not getting enough oud? Nobody will have trouble finding the oud in Oud Loukoum. In fact, I knew you were going to appreciate Oud Loukoum before I watched the video. Just my $0.02 of course.

    • @TherapeuticFragrance
      @TherapeuticFragrance  3 роки тому +1

      Hey P Jones this couldn't be a more spot on comment. Love the Coup de Foudre comparison and as many have stated the Khabib is spot on as well. The big hit on not liking Khabib is the Price to ML. It makes no sense how these are priced. No way they all cost the same to make.

    This collection was such a disappointment, I mean literally a scrubber. Why release such bad products. I can't remember any good Bortnikoff for a while. Sans Fleurs smelled like old wet furniture 🤮

    • @TherapeuticFragrance
      @TherapeuticFragrance  3 роки тому +2

      I was so curious of your take on Chypre du Nord actually. He shames the term Chypre with this one. It really makes me curious his own experience in wearing Chypre's. Anyways love the wet furniture comparison. He's doing too much. Theres no shame in working on one composition for as long as it takes to get it right. Wear it, have other people who will be absolutely honest to you (not flatter) wear it. Then repeat until you see the same people being speechless at something they've never smelled before. This is what the craft is all about.

    • @CrappyProducts
      @CrappyProducts 3 роки тому

      @@TherapeuticFragrance Indeed Brandon. I feel some of these indie perfumers start feeling the pressure of delivering which in a way is very similar to music and artists where agencies put a huge amount of pressure in them to release new albums. The result is often disappointing.
      Chypre du Nord has nothing to do with what a chypre is. Yes definitions change, but c'mon, no way it is a Chypre. Want reference chypres? Diaghilev, Maai, Chypre Extraordinaire. This? nothing to do with it.
      I do have to say it was painful to watch this video. I can definitely tell when you are excited or not about things, and this was definitely not the case, but still good to see. I think it is important to call things out as they are, and you did so.
      The thing with Bortnikoff and others is that the fan boys will always defend it to death, that's what they capitalise on.
      On a side note, I've tested this since a friend sent me the samples. He said it was so bad that he didn't even want to keep them 😂
