I think both narpy and koneko both were extremely weird but koneko really did get a lot better over the years. This "narpy" guy was legitimately telling koneko he was going to off himself if he didn't talk to him and was weird to so many other people. Neither of them were really innocent. I think koneko deserves criticism, but he clearly isn't the same person he was years ago and he was only making fitness videos on his alt channel before he quit everything. I miss his second channel content a lot and it's always going to make me sad that he just straight up left. I honestly think he could come back to his second channel at some point if he wanted to, but him leaving for now was the best move and I really hope he's doing okay now.

Something that Tom isn’t saying, but seems to be getting at when he says “context” is the stage of development of the people involved. 3 years isn’t a lot, but that’s when talking about full-fledged adults. 18 and 21 is a grey area because it’s legal, but the development and stage in life that an average 18 year old is still large gap away from the average 21 year old. 16 and 20 isn’t a big gap numerically, but the 16 year old literally has class tomorrow and for the next 2 years, while the 20 year old is already into earning a degree, likely has a job and understands more about that part of adult life and could even be in the early stages of their career.
in the majority of states across the US and across most of the world 16 and 20 dating isn't considered that big of a deal. That's literally the kind of age gap you see portrayed between George and Mary Bailey when they first fall in love in the movie Its a Wonderful Life. Unless the 16 year old has some kind of legit mental handicap I think you're kind of infantilizing them. That's a phenomena I've seen lately where I've seen people talk about "grooming victims" that are up to like 24-25 years old.

Yes it's legal, but you're potentially setting yourself up with some relationship drama between someone who's in 10th grade and you being in college by now. Easiest solution is to just wait a few years until they've matured a bit, but I know some people wouldn't have the time for that.

I was talking about how the stage in development someone is in is incredibly significant to the discussion of a relationship and age gap being okay. 13 and 15 are only 2 years, but there’s a big difference between a 13 year old and 15 year old and where they both are developmentally and in life. 13 is in middle school and 15 is in high school.

At 16 you're deemed mature enough to drive, work, and legally emancipate from your parents. My thing with a 16 and 20 age gap is they wouldn't have interactions if the internet wasn't involved. 16 year old is in high school (10th/11th grade) and 20 year old is college age (sophmore/junior). They don't have similar life experiences compared to 4 year age gap of 20 and 24.
