  • The world’s fourth largest smartphone producer is a Chinese company called Transsion. However, few people in China seem to know about it. That’s because their phones are not sold in China at all. Instead, they account for over half of all smartphone sales on the other side of the world, in Africa. In this episode of InFocus, we explain how these Chinese phones have won over the African market.

I'm using an Infinix Zero X Neo for about 2 years now, along with a Redmi Note 8 Pro (my primary) and a Vivo X80. Back in August the speaker started to sound crackly and not long after, the fingerprint reader stopped working. The charger also isn't the best: it doesn't quick charge all the way to full like my Xiaomi charger does. Apart from this the SIM tray broke, grammar in XOS is sometimes funny (happens with Vivo too, to be fair), the camera isn't very good (though it's not the worst thing ever), the software has some niggles here and there, etc. The cleanup app is very good though, which I can't say for Xiaomi's fake-ish cleanup app.
Infinix, Itel and Tecno are fine but it's like eating at a cheap buffet. That's not a bad thing, but just understand why they're cheaper. To be fair though, I like the Infinix more than the X80 which is far more expensive (though for other reasons). But Xiaomi remains my primary phone because it's just so easy to use. It's also the oldest of the three.

Just as a little fact, these (Tecno and Infinix) are selling VERY well for the last year or so in south america too.

I have seen INFINIX phones in mexico and always dismissed them as cheap and probably mediocre phones, this video has made me see them in a different light, huge respect

woah, this is indeed my first time hearing of this brand, smart move, adapting to the needs, population and environment, especially the battery capacity and signal boosting, something often taken for granted and only available in pricey customized phones meant for outdoors.

I think brands like this are those that allow everyone to enjoy technology. Not just releasing smartphones that are very expensive and can only be enjoyed by rich people.

Got myself a Tecno Pova 5 P 5 Pro not so long ago. Hella cheap and I must say that I love it.
I didn't expect to see Tecno as being owned by Transsion, it caught me by surprise.
