    the dvx200 has more DOF (out of focus background) I think. I have a DVX200 and I think it's still a great camcorder.

    Great side-by-side. I really appreciate the on-screen settings details. Thanks.

    It's amazing how well Sony's EX1R holds up to these 2015 cameras, really amazing. That said, I still prefer the DVX's look - the wider DR and larger sensor are subtle, but really help with the mids and blacks in details. I also like that because of the larger sensor on the DVX, you don't need to rely on shooting wide open. Whichever way, these are both awesome cameras. Thanks for this.

      Yeah .. I've been thinking of trading in my EX1R for a while now, but it still gets the job done almost as well as these modern cameras! Plus, I paid SOOOO much for it ($6200) I don't wanna trade it in and get $1000 on it and pony up $3k more to get a camera that is MARGINALLY better. Now, if and when 4k is MANDATORY (and that is very iffy, considering it is really ASPECT RATIO, not resolution that really forced HD on the public, IMHO) then it may be necessary to bite the bullet and make the switch. But I also have a Samsung NX1 that does BEAUTIFUL 4k, so there's "really" no need ... but I WANT this DXV200! (Maybe because it's red on the side, IDK ... LOL!)

      The nice thing is that the EX's retain value quite well - I bet that if yours is in good shape that you could get $2k for it - that pays half the cost right there! Dynamic range and large sensor for me are huge sellers as I often shoot run and gun work that I can't light. And hey - that red-side is badass!

      Truuuue! I also considered the Sony z150. Very similar, but with a 1" slightly smaller sensor ... and no red on the side! (But $1000 cheaper.) I don't have a low light camera, either, and I keep lusting after the A7S ii ... which is very respected in most circles, but not ANOTHER photo camera! I'd have 3....

    Hello, it seems to me that the comparison is very bad. and it is dishonest. the panasonic is 4k and the sony is hd
    the diference is huge. does not seem like a good advertisement for panasonic.

    You film in 25p in low light. so why do you set the shutter speed to 50? it costs you one f-stop?

    • @reticulan5
      @reticulan5 8 років тому +7

      +Klaus Stein tHt is normal procedure double the frame rate is your shutter. 24 f.p.s 48 shutter, 25 is 50 and 30 is 60. It goes back to the film days of a 180 degree shutter (open half the time and close the other half. Otherwise you have verticle smear. So when you are shooting at 25p the shutter is auto set at 50. Sometimes when it's dark and Panasonic don't make the lowest light cameras by far. If there little or no movement I sometimes leave shutter open longer. Hope that helps Klaus.
