Bader, I know you've had this said hundreds of times and I'm gonna say it again. You are a very detailed and awesome person. You took the time to film every little quirk and tutorial for removing this engine and of course informing people how to diagnose and reconnect AND check the health on various things on this project/motor. “Stage 3” is such a loose term in the Subie world nowadays. Years back before the GR, GVB, and VA chassis cars “stage 3” meant a bigger turbo and supporting mods like injectors, fuel pump, (tgv’s delete optional), intake, and full 3 inch exhaust with tune.

Glazed clutch on a 15k mile WRX STI, perfect example of how beat on and abused these are and how difficult it is to buy one in good shape (internally)

Almost the same exact parts I have minus a few. I have the FIC 2150s but didn’t know if the AEM 340 would have been enough. Thanks for clearing that up, now I can order one ☝🏼

Why do you prefer to make your fuel lines versus buying a pre-fab kit? Cost? Inner diameter of the DIY kit versus pre-fab?

Hey buddy I tend to see your builds running fic injectors do you not like injector dynamics? Alot of the tunners i know wont tune unless you run id injectors. Just curious as i debated on which brand to use for months

Do you worry about your e85 barrel expanding when the weather gets hot? Do you just leave it sealed tight without any burp or bubble valve?
i think u guys should have used the smaller fuel rail spacer for the fic 2000 ? looks like u guys used the large rail spacer? not sure on the vid.

Please show your tips for putting oem inter cooler back on, it took me forever. Also I’m about to take out my alternator and would like to know how to know how much tension I need when I put it back on.
The stock IC is stupid easy to put on, you just angle the side with the turbo tube in first and wiggle it over the turbo. The harder part is sliding the clamp into a good enough position, so it catches the turbo flush. I was really pissed when I was quoted 3 HRs for a IC change from my tuner and I found out it was that easy, when I had to chase a problem with the car and had to remove the IC.
i have exactly the IAG tgv deletes, did y’all had any problems installing the injectors? cause when i was installing mine the o-ring of the injectors pinches with the wall where you place the injector onto the tgv whole and was wondering if it’s like a defective one or they just like that and have to be extra careful?
Man ever since Cobb had to get with the regulation program you basically have to spend double the money to get to the older stage 3s.

What do you think about the 625+ head studs on a closed deck block? What boost level would you recommend to stop at before head lift ?

B’s STI 12 WRB STI Limited Id be happy with anything in the 500-600hp range, I’m in the middle of putting the motor back together and already have those studs so just am wondering what my psi limit is. Goin to run a dom 3.5 xtr for now since it pairs up with all my other mods until I can go rotated
@Jason T 600AWHP is alot different than Crank HP. Those 625+ are in my IAG Closed Deck and the head is starting to lift. I cant run over 28PSI right now without my coolant overflow tank blowing the cap off and shooting coolant everywhere. It use to hold 36psi when it was fresh putting out 650 AWHP on a mustang. Im at the point now where I cant just pull the short block and go from 11mm stock head stud size to 1/2 inch HS without boring out the block and replacing pistons and such. More than I want to do. If you are shooting for 600 , its not far off from the limits of those head studs. Im looking at IAG Magnum with Fire Rings right now. It comes with 1/2" HS. Just food for thought.

One is vent to atmosphere and the other is recirculating
Josh also does a cool mod with the race AOS where he bypasses the upper turbo coolant reservoir.

the fa20dit has been out since 2014. i know you had a wrx converted to a kinda sti wrx hyrbrid which i hoped would have more videos but it was sold. thats not a surprise because thats the car i want my car to be. my question is why no fa love? its the future whether you like it or not. i know the ej has been around decades but the fa out does the ej besides the carbon build up in many ways. i always enjoy your videos. thank you for sharing as always.

I remember watching a video where Josh said he didn't believe in using that never needed it with his builds. The kit does seem like it would help in improved cooling.
It does help with cooling and the jdm subarus do run them

Yes the subarus made in Japan have a nipple in the back of the block and tend to get plugged when shipped over. Why they do it I don't know. I will try and find some videos to link.

Last car had ID injectors, it’s not the injectors that is causing an issue. It’s the actual TGV

Yeah I’m just about to do these along with my turbo upgrade. I called IAG and they said they fixed the issue a few months ago. Unfortunately, I bought mine a few months ago from Oakos who probably got their shipment 3 months ago. Wtf!
Do you guys still have the stock hanger lying around that was fitted with that fuel pump out of Travis car? Or is it hard to modify the stock hanger for a larger fuel pump supporting 500?
Its not the correct way to do it using factory hanger. I only offer to close friends that understand risks or personal cars
i have the same down pipe but a grimmspeed intake. I'm currently running stage 1+ with the intake do u think it would be wise to slap on the down pipe and rock cobb stage 2 ots?

Hey bader a 38mm external will work fine on an fp zero its a stock location turbo? Or can I get more whp with a 44mm?
If you’re gonna run an ewg with a 78lb turbo it’s a good idea to get the 44mm so that you can regulate boost effectively, especially if you’re going to push the turbo

Car will not pass emissions with accessport maps that we run anyways. We don’t have emissions in my state.

Future plans but I think for right now he wants more precise boost control and better response. Also, with the stock turbos they tend to hair line crack from waste gate exhaust housing to turbo exhaust housing.

you would need a new block , the wrx stock block can’t handle that reliably

I was running 553 wheel 489tq closed deck stock was fine but it’s always better to have more/better flow, cooling and if you track it then it’s a must to upgrade but koyo all the way. My coolant temps dropped from 198 to 185-189 now.
Does an air pump delete cause a funny idle? Please inform me😊
i have it deleted on my sti and i haven’t noticed anything too weird. cold start is normal and idling seems to be as well. only thing i have noticed it that it drop down to 4-500 for a second then jump back up to 700.

Always aeromotive. Cobb doesn’t not work.

For 4g63’s, hopefully my car will be finished this year and running on a stock turbo but I’m either going with my sheepy kit FF turbo and t4 6466 or, gonna sell that and just buy a bolt on FP turbo but for twin disks in the evo. Which do you recommend ??

I snapped my motor mount on my 2015 Sti and then when I launched it the turbo coolant reservoir hit the hood and snapped off the coolant line fittings 🥴
