My thoughts are the RedWings made a fatal mistake not drafting him! Set our franchise back for sure. LOVE what Q Hughes can do. Simply amazing player !!
4. His intelligence quotient in hockey is quite high - This effects his playmaking, how and when to use edge work, his offensive prowess and escapability..notice how he rarely receives any contact whatsoever
I hope he does. In fact I hope he does so well as to actually beat Cale Makar for the Norris Trophy. This from a fan who doesn't even like the Canucks & doesn't dislike the Avalanche.🤣
@@paraglenner Well it's the trophy given every year to the best NHL defenseman. It's named after James E Norris a Canadian/American businessman who owned the Detroit Red Wings.
His shot has improved dramatically since his rookie season. Let's not think it's just his skating ability. His ability to read the ice and see where everyone is and where they're going is phenomenal; it's hard to see on TV but in person, he's always looking around.
Obviously he has spent countless hours training his skating but I bet a significant component is being one of three competitive brothers. I can just imagine a 16, 15 and 14 year old set of brothers out on the ice, playing keep away. So much sibling rivalry pressure to not lose the puck that his legs were fine tuned to a razor's edge level of ability.
Puck handling too, if players like mcdavid and hughes cant protect the puck or move the defenders with their dekes they could just be another player similar to mikheyev or zadorov
Thanks for warning us about the Canucks lol! Another Hughes!? Scary! I just read Hughes bio- wow! this guy was born into hockey. His dad was with Bruins player development for a while & with the Toronto franchise Brothers Luke and Jack drafted to NJ May have been on Ice before he was born - in his mom who played hockey for University of New Hampshire & in the IIHF Women's World Championship! This kid was born with skates on! And we have yet another hockey family dynasty in the making! As a Bruin, I'm both laughing & chuckling nervously! Oh geez! Another round with Vancouver... Luckily they'll be on the East Coast while Bruins are on their West Coast Road Trip - so we've dodged that bullet for now! Hopefully we can wait out there hot streak Good video - keep an eye on the Hughes boys. This is shaping up to be an interesting season & playoffs. Don't see why he won't hit 100 points as long as he's not injured. I'm betting Toronto would love to get their hands on him!
Unlikely 100pts. Karlsson did it last year, which I believe hadn't happened in decades. Norris looks to be between him and Makar. Whomever stays healthy wins, and Makar has become injury prone.
I think it’s likely. The league is changing, if a older D-man like Karlsson can do it, Hughes can if he can maintain the pace. Defencemen are driving a lot of offence recently in the league
Casual take. Hughes has been better than Makar defensively both this year and last year. He hasn't just been better, he's been one of the best defensive players in the league.

100 points Yes, if the season is injury free. Hoping for the best, this is the best the team has ever been 😊. Cheers go Canucks
He's Brian Leetch if Leetch had concentrated on his offense.....possibly best US born defenceman in history once his career is done
Except Hughes has been one of the best defensemen defensively in the NHL over the last two years.
I think he's definitely going to reach the 100 point mark. I'm not so shure about the Norris though as Makar is right behind him in points.
Points isnt everything buddy
Evan Bouchard is also on a point per game pace as well and is bit of Norris dark horse
Quinn Hughes +26, Cale Makar +8, Evan Bouchard +2... Yes they are all doing well, but 5v5 is important@@gabrielidusogie9189
I was saying that about makar btw. Hughes defensive game is definitely outperforming makars thus far.

norris? fuck that he's taking home the conn smythe
leading the league in +/- and his partner hronek is right there with him
I hope he does. In fact I hope he does so well as to actually beat Cale Makar for the Norris Trophy.

What is the Norris?
@@paraglenner Well it's the trophy given every year to the best NHL defenseman. It's named after James E Norris a Canadian/American businessman who owned the Detroit Red Wings.
its his skating. the rest really isnt a factor. the guy can skate circles around most players inthe league
His shot has improved dramatically since his rookie season. Let's not think it's just his skating ability. His ability to read the ice and see where everyone is and where they're going is phenomenal; it's hard to see on TV but in person, he's always looking around.
It's his skating, IQ and shot.

Yo this guy really wrote an entire book just to link back to the Toronto Maple Leafs
He was in the league first out of all the Hughes brothers- I know beantown is a bit of an echo chamber but what rock have you been under dude

Needs his Defense of Game not great coverage needs to shoot more can he score goals
Well hes 2nd in goals for defensemen. And hes very good defensively because he always has the puck
