Nothing to really report of substance here...it's great but still WIP. Expect to be patient and enjoy what it can do for now. Train with your friends.
Guys, this is a half-ass review as you already know...the Strike Eagle is not complete and it's AWESOME. I'll be on Vacation for most of the month of July (Backpacking the PNW) and Google is your friend on up to date information.
In the mean time, check out this quality content by @CasmoTV and @BogeyDope to stay up on capabilities and developments. It's going to be a good flight. ~Juice

I agree: having everything half-assed is worse than having a couple of things missing but what is there is workable. Yeah, I own the Hornet and having a plane than changes over time is a bit of a pain, but it's a price I'm willing to pay. There is so much to learn on modern jets, it's crazy.
👍
Is the hornet complete?
@@CapitanTavish no. No weapon cartriges and the FM is broken
Left CTRL E x 3 still works...
@@spinningsquare1325 how fm is broken?
I’m only just getting my teeth into learning this module. So far though, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how intuitive and user friendly it’s been. The big wide HUD is phenomenal too, I’ve always been a fan of interdiction and deep strike jets so this is right up my alley. I still adore the Viggen for Cold War action but as a modern platform the Mudhen is absolutely bonkers. It’s all the best parts of other modules, wrapped into one package.
I am learning the differences between the Viper, the Hornet and this aircraft. It seems to remind me a little bit of both. 😉
@@AIRWARFAREGROUPexcept this thing can’t really dogfight it’s not a C
8:50 🤣🤣🤣 Very good!!! I am a spotter and when an avion passes the words are left. You are getting me to rethink the purchase of F15...🤔 Really good video, nice job 😉
🫡 Hey there now. My goal with this adventure was never to get someone else to jump in feet first in the F-15 strike eagle. I honestly, and I mean it on scouts honor and using the Air Force core values, I lived by for 20 years of integrity first, can seriously say that I did not do these videos to entice other people to buy it. I’m just sharing my own adventure for free on UA-cam with no advertising. Cheers!
What you said about the systems not being all there from day one is spot on. Too many people complain about "planes not fully implemented." I'm fine with not everything being there day one. In fact, that's true to real life as a pilot learns a plane and advances along with it. Stuff will change as they learn. While certain bugs may be annoying as a function of software, ED's bar for early access has always been decent. People think because they can kind of take off and land, they're good to go with flying the bird. Skipping out on how it handles in different weather and weight conditions; skipping AA refueling, etc. Sure, that's basic competence, and to each their own -- have fun with it. I love being up very competent with the oldest of modules I've learned. With the new ones, I get in the air and can manage, but with a lot more mental load and less capability to detect, understand, and resolve problems.
Well put. Thanks and Let's be patient for sure...it's going to get there. Training and setting up controls takes me a while to get the fit I want. And I love to train in a new jet with my wingmen too before going to war.
They waited for me to finish my summer project, I had to re-deck the deck and I finished a week before they released it (I had signed up the day they announced the preview release).
So far, I have been having fun, there seems to be a learning curve even though I've been flying for years. I think it's because I've been spoiled and this plane is an oddball. Lol!
I flew in a Mustang last Wednesday that used to serve in the Royal Australian air force, but for me besides DCS, the only stick time I get is when I vacuum 😜
I'm having fun learning the Strike Eagle. I have been doing the same stuff tou shown in the video. I'll be doing self escort ground missions.
I stop flying the M2000c, and AV8b NA as my self escort ground attack.
I still fly the SU-27, 30, 33, and 35 for my dog fighting.
Awesome...you said the world "Escort" and I was drawn back to my Mustang and B-17 missions instantly. I really think that multi-aircraft joint ops is where it's at. ua-cam.com/play/PLroS5xjXW90uimm4Lh6dHps3VpqdgnIR3.html
2:43 Those external shots of it coming to land just show the mighty and beauty of the Eagle. Also, your Nevada map is looking great, Juice!
I sure wish it was a REAL EAGLE...😜
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Those external shots as she comes to land is just a beauty to watch. How did you manage to get those shots? A tutorial on that possibly?
I’ll do one, it’s probably gonna be pretty boring. Wait to you see tomorrow’s low approach video.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Alright. Thanks for the consideration.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Yes, please do that video! The shots are fantastic, very cool! Subscribed.
The "approach and go" is just called a low approach
Didn't I mention that? I call it Approach n Go vs Touch n Go but yes, Low Approach...Ironically, that video is in the barrel for tomorrow morning scheduled for release. Here's the Preview for ya.
ua-cam.com/video/fON4afJPHcE/v-deo.html
Great vid and to anyone somehow still on the fence, its worth every penny!
Also I believe the operation you described at the beginning of the video is referred to as a "low approach".
I don’t even regret spending $64 after the pre-buy but I wish I would’ve been one of those lucky SOBs that got it for $25 during the error episode when the pre-buy started. I met one of those guys on discord.
I loved watching the Eagle flying around with music. Joy to watch.
The STREAGLE might be a pig but she is looking good.
I like it a lot more than I thought I would. I wasn't interested at first, either, but seeing screenshots of the cockpit in development piqued my curiosity and eventually won me over. I figured it'd be essentially another Hornet or Viper just with a bigger bomb load and your plus-one in the back, but it has a really different flavor that feels delightfully unique. They do a fantastic job capturing the sensation of immense weight combined with immense power and surprising quickness-I don't think we have any other plane right now with that same kind of "champion sumo wrestler" energy.
The avionics are surprisingly straightforward and user-friendly as well-On day one I was able to just hop in and start dropping bombs and firing missiles in a quick "shooting gallery" mission without so much as glancing at the manual or tutorials until getting serious later. When it eventually gets a newer TPod, JHMCS, and AIM-9X it's gonna be a real monster, especially with a WSO in the back to whip up those patch maps. I bet people are going to figure out all kinds of crazy JDAM tricks when those finally come out as well.
I was thinking it was going to be part F 18, part F 16, part F 14, and elements of the front seat in the Apache for the experience I was going to get. But this is a whole new animal! 😉 If I had to pick one airplane to be a professional and a DCS world with a second seat in it, of course I would pick a single seat F 15 C, fully functional aircraft over any. But this aircraft could be a crew aircraft for two friends for years with total enjoyment.
I didn't see me buying it either at the beginning, but gladly I did catch the hype when it came out as a preorder. Backseat is fun with PS-controller operating AG-radar and TPOD at the same time. You can even fly the plane and drop bombs from back seat hud-monitor being your eyes as the normal view is blocked by pilot's seat. Would say as easy as Hornet to learn at least basics.
👍 that sounds a lot like what the Apache pilots are doing in the back of the controller. With all of the backseat aircraft, we get a DCS, Thrustmaster and WinWing I’m going to have to come out with some backseat HOTAS equipment. 😉
I was flying out of KVGT in 2017-2018 when I was working at Nellis and although it was stressful as a student pilot I always enjoyed getting vectored over Nellis while fighters were below me entering and exiting the pattern. Red Flags definitely got stressful though 🤣
😉
Nice to see a fellow Kunsan vet. PUSH IT UP! Pantons!
Panton class of Aug 92/93 😉
For me it’s the sounds, I can do engine starts all day, reminds me of back in the day launching and recovering birds at lakenheath
All I need is a candle it scented like JP 4 exhaust, and I am back at Kadena 1983. 😉
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP aviatorfuel.com/products/jet-fuel-scented-candle
Thanks, do you know if it smells like unburned jet fuel, or the post consumption jet exhaust...I'm looking for the latter.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP I was looking through the reviews n it looks like exhaust smell 👍 I mean, who gets off on UNburned fuel anyways? 🤢
I still think its one of the best early access released modules and that razbam set the bar pretty high for others to follow.
Good analysis...I can't say I'm deep into it enough, but I feel like the Apache was about the same level of quality upon release. I'm just glad we don't get told of a module and have to wait 5 years for it to be released as-is. Getting it with basic systems and flight model is perfect for me as I like to learn to fly a plane first before employing it in war.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP I wish more users followed that approach instead of sending it on a multiplayer server asking game chat what to do
Those damn video gamers 🤪
Tom, I'm waiting for our KC135 Veteran to confirm before publishing but check this out. ua-cam.com/video/yo1qLCTEsNs/v-deo.html Will redo it if my data is incorrect. J
I'm living vicariously thru you as I haven't flown DCS in almost a year next month. Warthog stick inop and need a new cpu it run it like you are.
🫡 Hey, I’m just glad to serve!
Nice video! Summed up beautiful and I've always been a viper fan myself wasn't that much interested in the strike eagle. Then ED drop the trailer now it's the only thing I will fly currently!
The only thing that has slightly griped me, where's the famous intake howl/screams, hear it so many times on the "mach loop" videos in the UK.
I also like how the upgrades coming later to the jet is modeled like a tech life update with adding the litening pod etc
Same thing exactly happened to me.
Got it for a late birthday gift a few days ago. Gotta say, I like it a lot more than I thought I would (but I'd still rather bein an F-4E doing everything it does but worse LOL)
I will say some friends and I jumped on Tempest Blue Flash tonight and I GCI'd for them on redfor. Man! Some of you strike eagle guys gotta learn when to skate man, and don't wander into M2k landmines. :s
French bouncing betties are rough!
😊
An F-18F would really do it for me. Happy for everyone who enjoys the Mudhen! Can't have enough High Fidelty Jets 🤘
That would be awesome… Another module for the fans to complain about 😉
@@AIRWARFAREGROUPall I know is I would enjoy teaching people Carrier Ops in the F-18F and also taking it to battle Multicrew 😊
Well obviously where the SE excels is moving mud. It has the good BVR DNA still and an outstanding FCR but yeah those who bought this to dogfight are going to be sorely disappointed.
The SE can be a switchology nightmare compared to the 16 and the 18. I am looking at you ground strafing pipper.
Even so I have been enjoying some seat time and did one round as a WSO but since the pilot didn't have pods on the aircraft and he was learning as well it was just training drops thus pretty low on things to do.
Never got to work on any of the F-15s but did get to pass by them every day on the way to working F-16s until Luke got rid of them for a 16 only base.
So true...there's a reason that pilots in the military are almost always only qualified on one aircraft, sometimes for an entire career.
Great module launch. ED should consider releasing the two seat F-16D & F/A-18D variants to go with the single seat jets, for training & multi-crew, Thoughts?
No they need to focus on making the game more immersive
I agree with @RW-zn8vy but also with @jpgabobo. I'd love to see an expansion for those 2 with multicrew
@@sheepy2688 yea I was editing it to say after then yes I would love for ED to add such things. But they themselves have bigger fish to fry.
I find that our job.
No no no. You mean B 17 G multi crew aircraft right? 😜
Smooth flying + relaxing music = great video. Love it, thank you! What kind of FPS does Tekada get on his 4k monitor? I am asking this, because I'm thinking of a 42" OLED screen.
Tekada said he used to get between 70 and 100 FPS. But he hasn’t flown on the big screen in quite some time since switching to the reverb G2. NFPS is so relative to your computers capabilities your graphics card, the type of monitor and what your settings are in game. Anything over 30 FPS the human eye can barely notice. I’m getting on my 27 inch monitor maxed out at 144 Hz a lot of the time, it’s 138 down to about 70 depending on where I’m at on the maps. ~Juice.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP The possibility to reach 70 to 100 FPS in 4K sounds encouraging, thank you!
Agree with all the impressions here! Love the videos.
I’ve basically learned everything in the streagle at this point. I have a couple of a2g radar functions to work out as I’ve found it hardly useful the way I play. Hi res maps for me are difficult to get any data from, probably an elevation thing, idk.
Regardless, I fuckin love this thing. Best module since the F-16.
Love it-Let’s all use this to refer to the F-15E “STREAGLE” 👍 It’s been a while since I heard this word.

Great video!
I do love this bird but the F 14 as well so I do not know what to choose for.
All help / info is welcome.
The “Speed and Angels, the Campaign” seems to be very good but how are the training missions in the DCS F 15E model?
Still evolving from what I have seen. Too early to tell.
I've been flying it nonstop as well. Still a couple frustrating bugs mainly on multiplayer like the CDIP pipper going INOP with high-drag bombs and sensors going off into neverland that hopefully get worked out in the next patch.
Don't get frustrated...realize that it's EA and has lots of things. We've all come to understand when we agree on the EULA that this product is not complete and doesn't represent the finished product.
i dont own the F16, i own everything else. been waiting for this for so long , A10 with afterburners and more fuel than a tomcat. is been a blast AAR is fun. gettign the hang of that and the approaches for landing etc, nav flir is cool wish we had TFR
Good comparison and really highlights the totality of this module.
great module
Module, it’s an official ED aircraft. 🫡
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP sorry sir o7
You’re good 😜 I was just hoping that you didn’t think it was a free mod although at its current current state, it might be 🤣
Its like an A10C on steroids, really enjoying it with SEDLOs missions, although point tracks are pretty useless atm, an cant wait for new features, especially some sort of fuel page, as cant tell if ive come off tanker or not
I had the same problem on the tanker until I realized that I needed to keep an eye on the ready light on the canopy bow.
what are your reshade settings that looks wonderful
In game options, system, gamma set to 1.5
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP and that's just because of this setting have everything on ultra
Let's see ... I own A10...kinda know systems. I own F14B...don't know squat.... I own F16, kinda know systems from back in the Falcon 4 day's. Should I buy the F15 (my favorite jet outside the F4)? Add it to my collection of learn it...someday?
Well, if you’re talking about this monstrosity, “not a real F 15 😉“ I would just get both since the Air Force probably not gonna be up for a while
My biggest complaint is the lack of IAM implementation. JDAM is such an integral part of this jet's flexibility. As is the AGM130/GBU15/GBU28.
I'm also REALLY SADDENED that the F14 Strike role is now over... with the current AIM54 implementation it's air to air role was over too. Now that the SE is a more reliable A2A platform, it's even worse. :( We need a B(U) or D to restore some order to the new chaos!
What is there to complain about? It’s early access 😉
@AIRWARFAREGROUP I mean... the whole early access model allowing certain things like JDAM to not be on an aircraft at launch? For one.
Heatblur had it right on the F14 launch. Almost all of the systems and all of the weapons were delivered at launch. Sure, the F14A was missing, but few people fly that model anyway.
@@Whiskey11Gamingthe f15 has similar capabilities to the f14 right now, iirc, so i wouldn’t worry too much about your tomcat and strike.
I would love to have this thing if they made it automated re: back seater. Til then, probably ain't gonna happen.
Good point...I think having a Bot in the Back like George or Jester would help get more people into it.
@AIRWARFAREGROUP I'm not sure it is super necessary though... the only thing the back seater really does are FAC-A duties and turn on some systems. After that it can all be done up front.
Ive been facing huge problem with the INS allignement especially with the random GC HOLD
I think it’s a procedural thing for me, but I was able to eventually get an OK alignment once I parked. I haven’t read the manual if it’s needed to have the parking brake set like you do in the Hornet or the Harrier but try that and see what happens 😉
@@AIRWARFAREGROUPYes it does need parking brakes on.
Having gone through the hornet and viper release this one is excellent as far as dcs goes. Tbh the only ones that were better at release that I can think of was the Tomcat and The JF-17.
And Razbam has obviously learned alot. The Harrier was unusable for a long time.
👍
On rotation the front gear seems to stick to the runway. Should be able to pull back half way for rotation and it should nose up nice and easy, but you have to pull back hard and then it noses up hard. A/P ALT Hold does not seem to work very well either, it noses up and down constantly in level flight. Only complaints I have so far.
👍 that’s a good observation and I think I’m seeing it too. We had a similar problem with the C101 a while back. I had to add a considerable amount of curve to the pitch axis, because it seems to porpoise a lot.
Cant wait till the F4 comes out then hopefully get to see some people make some great red flag campaines from the 80s with F4s F5s A10s F14s Harriers Mirage 2000s Mirage F1s got to go to Nellis in 96 before they did the land grab and it was awesome. Even got an F15E WSO waveing at us. Also got some of the last F111s from Cannon there. Even got a vhs tape a guy was videoing there. Was really great.
That sounds pretty neat! I was there in November 1984, with F 15’s from Okinawa.
Does AWG have a server?
Sorry. We don't...just a rag-tag group of veterans that try to merge every once and a while. We play on various servers like 4YA and Tactical DCS. Check them out...maybe I'll see you there. ua-cam.com/play/PLroS5xjXW90uimm4Lh6dHps3VpqdgnIR3.html
Just wish they would fix the gbu tracking. It's a 5050 if it works
If you dive a little it hits every time
Yeah, everything from Sounds to Physics is still being dialed into this Jet. I'm going to work on the basics and crew coordination training with my guys until it improves.
Point track is what im struggling with, not even 50/50
I just love the looks of this aircraft. But I also think the Warthog is real pretty, so I'm a bit of a freak that way.
I am mainly interested in deep strikes at night and regular CAS ground pounding. I look forward to training with the ground radar and planning missions against HVT's, POL stations and hangars.
But everything starts with basic flight craft, so I will be studying your video's a lot, Juice!
Those mission sets are perfect Oracle because that’s what the aircraft which is line for.
300 mile mission on GreyFlag PG, no problem! lets go! This module is amazing.
I wanted fast low level attack. It’s a beautiful aircraft and can be a missile truck.
Someone has probably done that...UA-cam search bring anything up? For that LOALT strike, who's covering you overhead and who's providing SEAD support?
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP’m sure, just was why I bought the F15E. Kind of an F111 replacement. Bwahahaha 😅 would need some F16 love.
