There needs to be more programs to incentivize developers to build more low income and affordable housing developments. As well as government funding to create more jobs that pay decent but don’t require a college degree.
@@richards1191 so, you’re saying the ones that have lost their jobs are now hooked on fentanyl, stabbing people and burning buildings now? Quit making excuses and quit crying for more of my tax dollars to fix a problem that the democrats have created throughout the country
Homelessness is not going away. It's going to get worse. The government has allowed the system to continually punish (monetarily speaking) people who are already struggling to pay their bills. If your credit is not good, your insurance rates go up. Miss a payment and your credit score goes down again. Take out a loan and you'll pay even more interest because of your credit. Josh said it's a downward spiral and he is exactly right. What do lawmakers do about it? Huge investment firms buy affordable housing and take control of the market. Now those in those communities cannot afford to live there and end up in the streets with bad credit. Affordable housing? What is that is someone who cannot get a line of credit or someone on a fixed income?
Long gone are the days of homeless communities. These are organized people using apps like wickr, whisper and whatsapp. They organize to take over areas.
Democrat city leaders in ABQ are currently allowing the homeless to camp anywhere, any time, for any reason. Although certain neighborhoods are granted favored status - you won't find a homeless village in Nob Hill. It disproportionately affects the safety and quality of life in low income neighborhoods where the homeless tend to congregate. This is the top reason I'm voting Republican for the first time in 2024, because my neighborhood is being destroyed by homeless lawlessness. My neighbor couldn't sell her house because the bank denied the buyer's loan due to the homeless situation in the neighborhood.
i reported a meth lab that supplies a large section of the central corridor, specifically the homeless encampments, they have done nothing. to stop it. my landlord finally was forced to make the "tenant" on section 8 that the lab is working out of to cut back and slow down, but they are still involved in meth and fentanyl sales to the local homeless community. the gateway center is only about 4 or so blocks away. they cook meth, and repackage the fentanyl and then they have a bunch of you guys on bikes that peddle out to the homeless community, mostly over night. i contacted the APD non-emegency number, was told to report it to apd narcotics and was given the number. i reported it to APD narcotics about 10 times, no effect. tried asking a police officer i say parked on the side of the street, she said to contact the narcotics tip line. i tried to contact a lawyer to see if i could sue the city to make them deal with it, he said contact the chief of police. i tried to contact the chief of police, no response. i tried to get the sheriffs dept to deal with it, they said its APD's jurisdiction. i tried to get the news to get help, no real interest is investigating why APD wont shut down a meth lab. i tried to contact the mayor, no reply. i tried to contact my city counselor, no response. i wonder how many OTHER meth labs APD refuses to close down? just how much meth is APD and the mayor ok with flowing freely to fuel the crime the homeless to commit.

Most programs are money grabs . They get federal or state money and buy marble mansions or luxury yachts instead of helping those who need help
