I only started watching this channel last year. I find The Woodsman to be one of the most genuine and likeable people on You Tube. His passion and love of the outdoors shows in his videos. Unlike many of the egocentric You Tubers, the Woodsman videos are about the subject and not all about him. My wife of 43 yrs. passed yesterday and videos such as this have helped me get through this, if only for a brief respite.
Please accept my deepest sympathy. And I agree with you about the Woodsman. He has made this pandemic easier for me, and I hope you will find peace as well. My prayers go with you. 🙏
I had an aunt that used to live on Main Street in Moc I know that area very I listen to your Channel and you are very educated in the woods keep up the good work
I forwarded this video to my uncle, who was born and raised in Moc along with his 2 brothers. He said he has been to those ruins, and one of his aunts said that those ruins were part of the village of Mocanaqua which his grandfather John Kollar first lived in before he built the home at Main street in the early 1900's. Maybe that one building that looked like a church, WAS a church?? Who knows ....
The old Blue Ridge Coal Co. I used to live in Moc. That's my old stomping grounds. You should do a video of the Powder Hole. There's a lot of History there. Peace Brother 👍👍💪💪💪💪💪✌✌
Those ruins were fantastic just loved it. I’m so pleased you not going down the holes any more, best be safe than sorry. Thanks so much for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
@@richhoule3462 hello! I consider anything outside of NYC upstate ny. The southern tier, south of Buffalo to Binghamton is the southern tier - which does border PA. Sorry for the confusion!

You are an absolute awesome person!!!!!! Great video! Glad you took that lower trail by the quarry. We accidentally went up that before finding the bigger ruins, lol. Wait a minute, who's Todd! Lol!
Great video!😊That’s pretty cool to just see the ruins of a building like that out in the woods. Must have been some sort of coal processing plant That’s really interesting 😁. 💕 Thanks for takin’ me!!☺️
Don't bend the knee to "the powers that be". The coal mine videos were some of your coolest. As far as encouraging other people to do the same just bc they watched your videos, that's some nanny state bunk.
@@jamesvw769 Next they'll be against filming vistas because someone might slip and fall, or cemeteries because someone might vandalize, or ruins someone might get hurt...
He now has to be responsible FOR others bc they cant be safe and be responsible on their own...very sad, especially since Cliff always said how much he enjoyed exploring mines and caves. At least he was safe and smart about it!
I know you took down your coal mine videos, would you be allowed to put them on Patreon as an exclusive? Those were a fascinating peak into Pennsylvania history.
They are. The village of Mocanaqua was built for the miners. I lived there for a while, great little village, with great people . It really got hammered by the flood of 2011.

this and the 1,000 steps in huntingdon country are some of my favorite ruins. the cold air rolling out of the old mines in the summer feels awesome

My aunt used to live on Main Street in in Moc she passed away in the 80s I used to go there when I was young every summer to visit her
I've been out there about 10 times and theres still places I'm looking for. It's an amazing area
My buddy grew up riding dirt bikes around here and dropped me a few pins for holes in the ground :)
A such beautiful place. Thanks for the trip.❤️
It’s amazing what was so important then is now forgotten.
DESTROYED AND HIDDEN BY THE CONTROLLING FREEMASONS
Thanks Cliff of another part of history that seems to be slowly being forgotten.

Looks like an old steam power plant...good find..let me know when you plan a return trip. L8r
Just incredible adventure!! Thanks so much. Really enjoyed it.🥰
Thank you for what you do.
Educational. Therapeutic.
Hi Cliff, a very cool adventure. thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖
That area reminds me of my grandparents land in Virginia. They own 500 acres there are 11 old coal mines on the property with old buildings
This also Appalachia.
WOWWW that has got to be awesome!!!!!!!
Super cool!! Thanks for taking us along. Be well.
Those are some neat ruins. I may have to check them out sometime for myself.
I'm waiting for the folks - who's kin worked and lived in that mess... to jump in and explain what those building usta be.
Very interesting explore!
My thoughts are that the big ruins were a boiler house / power plant for a coal operation. This can be seen in the vintage aerial photos.
Its sad that you had to stop exploring mines because other people cant use common sense...thank you for another cool video exploration!
Not being stupid is good advice wherever you are.
Whatever you film, we will watch.
Godspeed Woodsman.
Even just hiking there is an adventure. The Loop Trails are great with high breathtaking vista views of the river and valley below.
Beautiful ruins and wonderful scenery. Thanks for a great video.
It's nice to go traveling to see many places without leaving home and some historyas well.
Looked like a beautiful day for a hike. Cool ruins.👍🏻

I wonder if there are people left who are familiar with structures at coal mine like this.
I used to live in Moc
Pretty cool ruins !
Some of this reminds me of areas around Duluth Minnesota and of the Iron range of northern Minnesota. The rock outcroppings and woods are similar.
Creepy, like the Blair Witch Project....I can hear banjo's in the background.....
If those buildings were in a city there would be a condemned sign on them and ENTRY PROHIBITED due to unsafe conditions.
22:22 makes me think it might have been a ' Coat Room' ( every place had them at one time).
Far more vast area back there. Rode back the quite a few times

I looked up that book, but it is way out of my affordability, at nearly $50. It's just as expensive on a used book source! Yikes!
That's because it's been out of stock so private sellers are taking advantage. Trying to get that fixed with the publisher ;-)
@@RusticVentures That would be great! I would be most interested to buy it and will check into it weekly. Thanks!
Real nice video !! Close to home for me.
I wonder if that building was a dormitory for the miners?
Have you found any ruins you would like to restore if you could?
Its really cool how you and Kathleen just happened to meet there
