@Arkefthos Bonsai no no, this sky blue colour is bullseye, I love it! I don't know if you have it in your collection, but I always liked how ficuses look in dark blue pots.
Thank you! I really appreciate your input and a different set of eyes! I don't have tropicals. I live in high elevation, they would be so much trouble keeping them alive...
What a lovely group planting, the blue and red contrast will be breathtaking. I was worried about the perlite being too white and one stronger wind would blow it away but you secured it with the moss, very ingenious. Thank you for the video! Perfect start into a sunday :)
Thank you! Zeolite and perlite are not the best aestheticly (though I kinda like the look) so as the trees get into a more developed stage, I tend to cover with moss. This helps with water conservation in summer as well. Though I do have pines that I need them to dry quickly and grow roots fast, that I have not covered with moss. After a few waterings, zeolite and perlite just stay there. They don't get carried away with medium to stron wind gusts. Cheers!
Very beautiful image with a beautiful composition made. I really like the calm surrounding with the chirping of birds. A real moment of tranquility that you share with us, thank you
Beautiful composition. While shopping in garden centers I’ve often walked past spiraea. You’ve been very creative in the way you manipulated their natural growing habit into a unique landscape. Thanks, keep growing
Thank you! If you can find spiraea, I highly recommend it. Finest branches you are going to see, beautiful colors, strong root system, though it's hard to get thick trunks!
Fantastic work! The moss is perfect! I love perlite but i live in a windy area and my moss supply is pretty limited at the moment, because my perlite tends to just fly away if there is no moss covering😅
Thank you! It's not just perlite. Maybe try and find zeolite in 5mm size. Very good material for bonsai cultivation, best CEC, perfect airaiton, does not break down, ever. And of course doesn't fly away in wind gusts. Cheers!
I’ve never thought of using spirea as a bonsai plant. Can you post a picture of what this looks like when it’s fully leaved or in full bloom. I would really like to see it. Thank you for your content. Have you ever made a video of your bonsai garden and all of your trees. That’s something that I would like to see if it’s possible sometime.
Thank you! I have something better. Last summer I did a video of summer pruning this tree and another Spiraea japonica "Gold Flame". Spiraea is regarded highly as a bonsai species in Japan. And "Gold Flame" is an excellent cultivar. I have not done a video of the bonsai part of the garden yet, as it is still in development. When it's ready, I will make one. Cheers!
@@ArkefthosBonsai I am very familiar with spirea gold flame. Actually as I was watching your video. That one came to mind because of the gold foliage which would be beautiful in the garden. Thank you for responding. Have a great day.
hi my friend from italy . How are you, I hope well. You know one thing I like about your videos are the introduction of videos with nature and stillness. it's always nice. I wanted to ask you something do you also have chaenomeles bonsai. I have but I would like to have one similar in style to your bonsai in this video. if there are any techniques for nebari. etc
Hi Pietro! Thank you! I purchased some slow growing cultivars of Chaenomeles and I will start propagating them and developing them. It's kinda slow but it will get there! To get a nebari like this, you need to repot the tree every year, remove thick roots and leave only the fine ones and place them in a nice outward pattern, every year. Nice well drain soil (I prefer inorganic) and don't use to big of a pot. Even during training, keep the pot relatively small, otherwise you will get thicker roots. Good luck!

Love it! That blue pot with the fiery red autumn leaves will be gorgeous!!
Thank you Chris! Wouldn't you prefer a deep teal pot though?
That blue pot is just perfect for this composition. Another great inspiration.
Thank you very much! Do you think it's perfect like this or maybe a deep teal color? Cheers!

Amazing video and good job, very compliments my friend!👍👍👍
Thank you Roberto! As always!
The root development is unbelieveble....thanks for sharing. I put this specie in my desires' list.
It can be a great species for flowering deciduous shohin trees!
Gorgeous tree! Thank you for sharing.
You are welcome Susan! Cheers!
🍁 beautiful result of your restyling and repoting. I'm inspired to start a similar projekt.

Do you do bonsai as a career, or as a hobby?

El tiesto azul, con esa coloración roja es una belleza.
Que sustrato usas? Perlita, tal vez ?
Salud.
Thank you Fabian! I use 45% zeolite, 45% perlite and 10% organic soil from the forest! Cheers!
@@ArkefthosBonsai muchas gracias.
Good show! Were these grown from seed?
Thank you Gert! Spiraea is propagated with cuttings, easily.
Buongiorno caro. Mi piace questa essenza, pensi che possa stare al mio clima? Come ricorderai vivo in Sicilia ,,,😁
Thank you Giovanni! Definatly Spiraea will be fine in Sicily. If you can find Spiraea japonica, go for it. Cheers!
D'accordo ti ringrazio per evitare che diventasse legna da ardere
