I did SPS for Ross and this is hilarious. They want you to be as amped-up on the customers without harassing them. Since it's considered "soft security", we can't lay hands on them, so we stalk LOL
Dude, last month I went into a Ross for the first time in probably fifteen years and I saw these guys running around the store blatantly eyeballing people and stalking shoppers with an EXTRA level of energy. Wtf is going on in there?!
seriously? is this a thing? is that why he made this video? This is one of the funnies videos ever. I thought UA-cam took it down. Glad to see it's back. It could easily go viral like covid.
@@aaxtreme925 I'm a ross sps and we aren't too rough we actually can't put our hands on people so they really urge us to be up in people's business so like just hard stalking to make thieves uncomfortable so they leave
Same . Where i work we be like “would you like me to get a cart for that merchandise you have stuffed in your pants so it’s easier to carry?” . What’s even more funny is they usually say yes and then feel awkward and ditch the stuff .
You shouldn't have been fired for this. If anything, they should hire you to do commercials for them. They prolly got mad cause of the tongue in cheek thing...but you brought attention to the brand. They're dumb for not seeing that. Props to you. Looking forward to a full length feature film someday.
IM STILL MAD THAT THEY FIRED YOU, THIS WAS GOLD. You honestly deserved to become the Flo of Ross, but I guess they don't want the customers to get their panties in a bunch about being watched by security. WHICH IS THE EXACT STATE IN WHICH THE PANTIES OF A CRIMINAL WOULD BE.
I work for Ross and I can't believe what they did but I Love your video. We have got to act up a little every once and a while it's the life of retail smh how do they expect us to survive lol 😆
I have done loss prevention for almost 20 yrs and ten of them at Ross. Yes I'm quite and I will watch people go through the store and I just give the thieves extra attention so they can't steal and my alpm wanted me to go to work at another store but it was 50 miles one way. I told him that and he knew it was too much to ask.
Me too! I'm also quiet. But i acknowledge. And i am very aware of what's going on all around me. Whether u know it or not. So much so i have deterred countless attempts of major theft in just my first month alone. I wonder if I should start documenting that during pay raise meeting? 🤔 So what does that mean for you though? Was he wanting to fire/"get rid of" you? Or was it that your approach would have been useful to teach the the other store if they were struggling? I hope the latter.
I think lost prevention is the most hated job in the world, because the store targets literally every employee, as a means to get employees to do their jobs. And they use lost prevention either for legal reasons against employees, or to bully employees into doing work.
My wife showed me the TikTok and I thought it was so funny I had to look up UA-cam and find out who that was. I worked in loss prevention for a large video store chain (back when those existed), and some of the ex-cop investigators were like this and more.
Edit** to add i get paid $16/hr due to my "experience" previously as an acting store manager. Would've been $15 otherwise. 😑** You get to walk around the store freely?? I have to walk in small circles near the entrance all day everyday while "keeping my head on a swivel". I feel like a tweeker on a hamster wheel. I'd so much more enjoy being mobile sps and walking around the store finding defeated hard tags, empty packages, catching people in the act, working with the staff's & sps' call outs on sus behaviors, & thus providing just the most wonderful the most extra helpful customer service to our C.S thief friends throughout the store as I do "go backs" 😇☺️🤭🤗🫠 and then I get eye rolls, comments, attempts at distractions or compliments, and finally a visual irritable display of defeat. And leave their whole carts in the store and just ditch the plan. Come back later? I'm still here biznatchhhh!
Yea sps wasn’t that exciting at all when I did it. Especially once a different dlpm took over then even as the full time lead guy it still was extra boring. Glorified loud door greeting job imo. 😂
Former SPS here, the job is basically to be professional stalkers lol. Its really a joke job though and most sps dont actually care mucb besides look busy when the nanager is around. They aren't able to really do much besides watch from a distance and thats it. They cant touch you, accuse u of anything etc. Biggest giveaway to know if one of them is watching you is if they do 1 of these 2 things. You noticed they have walked past you more than once in a short period of time or 2, they offer you a cart for your items. Lol
I know this is just exaggerated bullshit, but playing along with it, he's talking a big game about his dedication to his job but yet he's allowing filming go on within the store, a no-no loss prevention should be on top of.

Ross loss prevention is a little rough then others. I do LP for a grocery store but I maintain distance and stay hidden
