He's been in America a lot so he's probably losing his accent and has been influenced by the people around him. When he was talking about Harry's song he sounded so weird (honestly seemed like he had drank or smoked something right before if I'm being honest😂) but his voice is definitely changing.

I could never understand him before. Thankfully I can now.
My theory is that he just tunes his accent down a bit when he's not in the UK so people will understand him better. You always subconsciously or consciously adapt to the way the people you're talking to are speaking.

the first time I heard "Strip That Down" and heard the 1D line, I had to think about what I thought I heard then dismissed that thought. listened to it again...still didn't quite get it....so I looked for the lyrics. saddened by the words, I started searching...and found this interview. Thank God I did. I do think they will get back together and was happy to hear Liams words. and by the way, I LOVE this song! His voice is truly amazing!

Jasmine Prather she refers to the use of the past tense of the verb "use"... The lyrics goes "you know I useD to be in 1D..." as if 1D doesn't exist any more..got it? She is not making reference to the "now I'm free" part :)
The One Direction Contract was really horrid, low pay, constant work, really controlling, very abusive. So the line in the song now I’m free... not hard to relate to. The initial contract with these boys has no doubt expired.

I think the interviewer was very professional like he didnt go to off topic into areas that Liam was uncomfortable with. Many interviewers do this and u can tell it makes people uncomfortable
I love how he keeps saying "we" and "us." Like instead of making it all about him, he acknowledges all of the crew and everyone who contributed to making the songs and making everything happen. It wasn't just him. There are songwriters, managers, and other crew members that make things happen. But most singers don't bother to really acknowledge them in interviews. Major respect to him for that.
Also, the interviewer is really dope and not annoying like a lot of them.
