Had a v6 diesel jag in today , sure enough the throttle flap was sticking ,bunch if codes map air mass turbo pressure etc . Anyway the new unit was 500 quid 😮. Found out later that where the boost pipe joins the intercooler theres a sort of box/ chaimber that had split on the seam , as a result of this flap getting stuck probably. Should have smoked it also 😖....Doh! Kicking myself for that . But much thanks for the info. I knew where to look and what to look for ,thanks to you . I just need to engage the brain a bit more .👍
Good job. I used to have a Citroen C4 diesel automatic and when it started to do a burn I would keep driving to let it complete the process. There was no indication on the dash, but the engine sound changed, the engine felt rough on idle. I kept it at a lower gear to keep the revs up to help the process finish, didn't take long. It's a pity there's no indicator light to let drivers know the DPF is going through a cleaning burn process. If you switch off before it completes, the whole process starts again, burns more fuel and lowers your mpg.
Jimmy, you are a clever lad, i really enjoy your vids. That engine is a VM Motori unit. Same basic engine is in the Grand Cherokee. They like to eat crank bearings.
I think maybe the dealers think regen works all the time. but once you get to a percentage % not sure what thst is? It cant break down the soot or doesn't run long enough to do so. Thats apart from other system failures sensors etc. Great video Jimmy. Dealers WTF
£800 quid for 3 oil changes??????? Bloody hell!. Costs me fifty quid to change my oil and filter myself. Perhaps I should set myself as a "Maserati oil change specialist"????? I'll be a millionaire this time next year Rodney!
800 quid for an oil change.. Playing with the Big Boys.... Advice from Dealership.-we might need to do 2 or 3 oil changes.... Guess they saw an opportunity
Ambient temperature sensors might not even give a fault code. They might be partly working, sometimes giving bad readings because of corroded contacts. Water tends to run down the wires in the door from the mirror, or through the window seal, and get in the connector on some cars. Another dealer unable to figure out what the real problem is.
FIAT bought out Abarth, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari (road cars) and Maserati, then merged with Chrysler to become FCA, then merged with Peugeot to become Stellantis. A conglomerate that will never produce a cheap simple small fast light 4 cylinder small capacity mid engine rear wheel drive easy to fix fun to drive car, because well you know why... it's all political.
I think Maserati is a cheaper version of Ferrari, no joke, they have Ferrari engine, not sure what the deal is with diesel since Ferrari don't think they make diesel engines
What Model of Diagnostic tool are you using here please? I went down a rabbit hole, as my Autel didnt have the function to regen a DPF on any maserati. Just Ordered a Launch X431 something or other, but i wonder if there is a difference for this function between the models?
Great video jimmy, Given its likely this car has had many failed or forced regens, did you recommend the owner to have an oil & filter change.. i would also suggest they do it asap with an air filter too. It just makes sense to educate people about oil changes too, esp after dpf issues…
Maybe realising all London Taxis up till recently were diesel will help you understand why people buy diesel vehicles that live in large towns. Putting it simply they use far less fuel.
@@JimmyRS2.2 I’ve only had diesel cars since 1985 and the biggest bill over the last 38 years was a repair to the engine computer that cost me just over £300. 38 years and about 570,000 miles in a Peugeot 205/Citroen ZX/ Citroen Xsara Picasso/ Honda Civic.

Still a good find but yes,I smoke everything now👍👍
Nice to know that Maserati Dealers charging £200 an hour haven't got a clue, they fire the parts cannon until the owner sells the car.
WELL done THAT MAN 👍👍👍👍
Good job.

Nice one 👍

2-3 oil changes for £800, not for 1.

Jimmy, Maserati is now owned by Stellantis which owns several other brands including Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Ferrari.
FIAT bought out Abarth, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari (road cars) and Maserati, then merged with Chrysler to become FCA, then merged with Peugeot to become Stellantis.

Everything is orchestrated
The reason they won’t produce one is nobody would buy it in numbers large enough to make it profitable of affordable.
When politics governs how engines are built then Jimmy will be worked off his feet, nuff said
Ferrari were spun off in 2016.
Maserati diesel why ?
Nice one Jimmy👍
Bet the dealer cleared the codes.
Definitely fiat Jimmy the rev counter ìs same as mine on mito
Great video loved yeh music lol 😂
Where is did you get the scanner? How much does it cost?
Hi Jimmy
Where did you get that dpf cleaning gun nozzle from please?
That's the Ecodiesel

Launch UK Euro Tab 3
It could be that they would of done a few forced regeneration and changed the oil each time.
Yes I don't know why I didn't think of that
Good job, why don’t the dealer do this as well. Just so poor on there side.
maserati 3.0 v6d engines have a problem with there dpf i had mine replaced under warranty at 95k as it had full maserati service history
FIAT Ferrari group so is FIAT engine

@@keithwelton Surely that fuel economy is offset by the big repair bills that come early in the life of the vehicle.

Because years before dpf egr cars went on the smell of diesel like vw and they also ran on red diesel which was some saving for van man😂
Whats that device that read any car?
