    Is this the first dry season you have attempted? The males look like they have color. I could be wrong , but they do go up to the top and grab air if they really need. Would you start feeding after you start the cool water low TDS wet season. I am trying to learn as much as possible about doing a dry season . Alex from fishstory on you tube just did a video that might give ideas. You will get it ... It appears that dying vegitation and algae with increased temps may be part of it.

      You can do some basic things to simulate a dry season, but for the 'right' kind of dry season, it takes doing some research around where the species comes from. Like in the case of pantanalensis, they come from the northern region of the Pantanal which runs through the Mato Grosso. Alot of the Mato Grosso is a huge fairly flat flood plain and when it dries out, temperatures increase, the water gets more decaying vegetation and the current increases in many areas as the flood waters recede which lasts for around 3 months. So I fake it by basically not cleaning the filters, stopping water changes, throwing in extra leaves and alder cones and adding a power head. When they come out of the dry season, I time it to land as a storm front is coming through. I start feeding more live foods and do large cool water changes every day starting around 3 days before the storm and going a few days after it's done. With these guys, I don't think I got them into as bad a state as I really needed to for their first real trigger session.

    Those are nice, i cant wait to put mine in a bigger tank. They seem to really want to swim around more. Have you noticed the same?

      Mine are wild adults and they seem to be more skittish. Granted, I don't keep dithers with them so that would probably calm them down more.

    What age are these and are they tank bred?

      @mbroome 10 місяців тому +1

      They are wild caught adults. It's hard to know their age, but the adult males are showing their breeding colors.

      @@mbroomeI have ten wild caught that are much darker than yours. I just got them last Wednesday. Waiting for the males to show color…if I even have males.

      Yea mine are darker too, but not much. Mine better be the real deal . I would think they are all wild caught, but who knows for sure. I believe they are Lineage 8 subclass 4. They seem to be the hungriest cories. Always surfing the glass.
