Based on this vid and both having similar equipments, the only difference between them is gameplay. Cal's best combo is to get 3 DM in 11s Libe duration, which is very tight. If Cal get staggered, it's definitely a lot of dps loss. While Yao's has a comfortable 24s Libe duration and can fill the gauge quicker with R. Skill+BA combos. Add Verity's Handle, and it's over for Cal.

Obviously he is on par with jinhsi due to his multipliers Calcharo's dmg multipliers are still more than enough to clear ToA..The problem with him is his short liberation mode, small DM hitbo, his dodge counter doesnt stack, etc. You need to circumvent his problems to dish out his highest dmg possible (for example the 3dm using 3BA + Dodge or The 4dm gameplay which is 1.5-2BA + dodge). He loses because he is a problematic unit. Thinl of him as arlan or diluc in hoyo terms or lee hyperreal in pgr terms TLDR: Although both units excel well in hypercarry and quickswap, Yao wins due to more on convenience than dmg and calcharo loses because you need to play 5D chess to make him work. Nice vid. I think a reasonable factor to add to the discussion is optimal team mates. XLY is undoubtedly better than Calc with Yinlin, but I would like to argue that's not Calc's best team. His best team is with quick swap Changli, you can see videos on yt it's a very fun to watch (and play). This is important cause if we replaced Calc with XLY on the Changli team, it doesn't mesh that well. This is because XLY wants a lot of uninterrupted field time to maintain buffs to output that crazy high dmg. And while Calc likes Yinlin's buffs, quick swapping changli gives more over all dps. Now you can argue that it's cause 1) you're running two dps of course it's more dmg and 2) you technically don't need max investment in Yinlin for XLY to do max dmg. However at the end of the day, we are always looking to the future when we finally finish maxing our characters, both Changli and Yinlin are limited characters, and you can (technically) get both XLY and Calc for free. So the echo set needs you to firstly press res skill and heavy atk to get 30% electro damage, that's why I do such a thing before ulting, also after every E yao casts he gains 5% electro bonus with max of 4 times (20% electro bonus), thats why it's important to cast those to increase the nuke dmg
Calcharo is still good…but not for me cause i dont have any sign wpn on him just the battle pass one…and my damage are half from most of the sign weapon user…
I can't seem to reach the 205k damage per screen shot of xiangli yao. I have almost the same builds, I'm only missing the attack and crit dmg traces. Does it make that big of a difference? My crit ratio with xiangli yao is 70/232, with 2200 atk, I'm using double electro 3 costs too
is moonlit yinlin really better than void thunder? if my yinlin does 10K damage per tick with her ult do y’all recommend i just try to make her a full support? most of her void echos are god rolls
I saw another comparison vid today aaaaaaaaaaand Xiangli Yao was using his signature💀literally worlds between, it's so unfair... also people say he's less clunky than Calcharo, but tbh after playing with Yao today, I actually found HIM to feel kinda weird to play (for me at least). I can't really describe why tho
Could it be that his attack string doesn’t flow very well, sort of like broken momentum. Hopefully we get used it it over time. My bad ping prevents me from doing decent damage with Calculator
@Xdeathslinger keep in mind when you say things like you did X amount on ult you're neglecting calcharo does 100k+ on his ult and depending on you're set up and investment 120-170k per set of DMs the damage is distributed differently between the but there's not a large variance
By doing the rotations right you can always have ult ready with low ER You can find a demonstration of this in this video at (advanced rotation) section: ua-cam.com/video/DruW6AqICKQ/v-deo.html
They are quite the same, but Calcharo's weapon and 4-cost fit him better than yao's situation in this comparison. That's why I added 15 secs on each of Calcharo's runs clear time, and I think if I had verity I wouldn't have to add more time on calcharo and as mentioned in the video the difference between both will be very minimal
@@sagnikmaulik This is a fair comparison, bruh. Cal's 1st BiS is Lustrous Razor (21% Libe Bonus if fully stacked) which is incomparable to Verity's Handle (free 48% Libe Bonus without stacking needed). The difference is more than twice.
The math doesn't check out IMO. How is it fair when Calcharo has 40% more crit dmg, 1% more crit chance and 12% more elemental dmg boost vs Xiangli Yao having only like 300 more attack. This is just base stats as other stats would require more math. the +15 sec on Calcharo timers doesn't make up for how massive these stat differences are IMO. Why not just put both characters on standard banner weapons and give them the exact same echos?
Xiangli yao wins here, as shown in the video if both are played at their best potential xiangli yao wins but the difference between the both is really minimal in my opinion
there's a problem here.. you can't use same echoes for both, u should be using 0 echoes... the damage formula in wuthering waves is trying to make the atk%, ele% and crit dmg% most equal as possible.. calcharo and xiangli have extremely different types of attributes, if you use echoes that equalize the attributes in one of them, it'll be a lot more stronger than the other one that isn't equal.
I get the idea of this, the thing is that they wouldn't have cleared tower if they used 0 echos, though I think this is a really good approach (your approach) to do the comparison from
Bruh how come my yao never do 200k burst dmg? My xy status; Atk=2.1k (CR=60% CD=263%) or (CR=53% CD=277%) Skill dmg bonus=25% Liberation dmg bonus=23% Electro dmg bonus=82%
Nah we cant sit here and say this is a fair comparison when Calcharo has like 40% more crit dmg than Xiangli Yao as well as slightly higher crit chance (by 1% but still 😂). On top of this, Calcharo gets an extra 12% element dmg boost from the banner weapon. THESE STATS ARE MASSIVE! If this was to be fair both characters should have at least been on standard weapons.
surely you are trolling with this comment no? the difference is literally from the different weapon used. calcharo is using a crit damage sub weapon when xly is using an atk sub weapon. did we just conveniently ignore how xly has 300 higher base atk?
@@mikelshuo9071 How am I trolling? I am stating what is being shown in the stat screen. You want to tell me that 300 base attack and 40% crit dmg + 12% element dmg bonus are the same value? go on, lie to me in my face and say yes xD
@@PepperoniRonin. ??? In the video, Xiang Li Yao has 300 higher base attack than Calcharo. That is because of the weapon substat. It's the same reason why Calcharo has higher crit damage. The fact that you think 300 attack is not meaningful is ridiculous. Go UA-cam atk vs crit in wuwa by Yune you will find your own answer. It's actually even better on XLY because he has lower base attack. Also no one said it was a fair comparison. You are arguing something no one took a stance on. The video already stated you should consider the element dmg bonus and stat difference in weapon substat. You are just being anal for no reason. It quite literally says in big white font "HUGE DISCLAIMER" at the start of the video. I refuse to believe you are this clueless that you missed it.
@@mikelshuo9071 ok, seems math class was skipped. Lets assume both Calcharo and Xiangli have an attack that hits once and has a 100% multiplier right? Ill try to keep this simple for you. If Calcharo has 2100 attack, 270% crit dmg and 82% electro dmg bonus he will deal (2100x2.7x1.82) damage which equates to 10,319.4 damage, Xiangli yao with 2400 attack, 230% crit dmg and 70% electro dmg bonus with the same attack will deal (2400x2.3x1.7) which will equate to 9,384 damage. Calcharo in this scenaro deals 1000 more dmg per attack than Xiangli Yao and this will add up as more attack happen. If they do 10 attacks, Calcharo will do a total of 103,194 dmg while Xiangli Yao will do a total of 93,840 dmg. A difference of 10,000 or so dmg. If put under the exact same scenario, Calcharo clearly has an advantage and this isnt accounting for other factors such as weapon passives which may swing things more in his favor coz he gets like 48% extra skill dmg which he makes use of when not in his ult form while Xiangli Yao only gets 10% basic attack dmg and 10% skill dmg bonus. I have no idea why you have committed to defending this when it would have been fixed by simply giving both of them the respective standard 5 star weapons and using the exact same echos on both of them. Why does Calcharo get to use a limited banner weapon, which are always stronger than standard banner weapons, but Xiangli Yao cant? Why not put both of them on standard banner weapons and use the exact same echos on them?
@@PepperoniRonin. I have not defended anything, I am just stating facts. I have no idea why you yapped this hard when the video literally pointed out this exact difference already. I am actually speechless you are still screaming how it's not a fair comparison when absolutely no one said it was fair in the first place, including the video itself. Please tell me the timestamp in the video where it says it's fair. All I see is a big disclaimer claiming the exact opposite. I think you are just delusional no? And all this yapping about fairness but you still don't realize that you failed to mention in your initial comment how XLY has 300 higher attack as if it's negligible. That is just plain hypocrisy. Just admit that you didn't see it. It's not that deep. You type all that to say there's a 10% damage difference. Wow! Imagine that! One weapon giving an extra 12% ele dmg buff and the outcome is one character is doing 10% more damage. Good job. You are really smart actually. You just proved to yourself that 40% cd is comparable to 300 attack exactly like I said... wp.

New diluc = Calculator
is jianxin a good replacement if you dont have yinlin?
Yep, she works fine with both calcharo and yao
@@Mormento thanks :>
You can use Sanhua too, the dmg numbers are lower, but her fast rotation and S6 makes a good partner.
Why you not cast ulty after Yao intro😅. I think that was damage loss
@@Mormento nice info, I forgot about his talent exist 😂. Also I use lingering tunes 'cause I can't afford tuning 5 echo😅
Calcharo is still good…but not for me cause i dont have any sign wpn on him just the battle pass one…and my damage are half from most of the sign weapon user…
I want to buy S6 on calcharo, will it increase damage a lot?
Yep, S3 and S4 already are huge damage increase and S6 is something else
I can't seem to reach the 205k damage per screen shot of xiangli yao. I have almost the same builds, I'm only missing the attack and crit dmg traces. Does it make that big of a difference? My crit ratio with xiangli yao is 70/232, with 2200 atk, I'm using double electro 3 costs too
Also I'm having trouble with clearing scar :< I only get 2 stars
Ye, my atk is +2400 that's maybe why as attack scales really well in this game even rivals Cdmg
@@Mormento oh, so maybe that's why. Thank you! I'm losing like, 30k dmg from the 200 atk I'm lacking.
is moonlit yinlin really better than void thunder? if my yinlin does 10K damage per tick with her ult do y’all recommend i just try to make her a full support?
most of her void echos are god rolls
If the case you having amazing stats on void thunder so no need to moonlit IMO
please what is calcharo's best in sloth weapon
jiyan sig
Short answer: Lustrous Razor
Detailed answer: you can check (Weapon section)in this guide ua-cam.com/video/4MFXX-oDSE0/v-deo.htmlsi=vjkW0MAZfveIFLJU
High ping havers have no choice but to bench Calcharo. Unfortunate because I like with the character design.
I really hope kuro fixes this issue with Calcharo in the near future
Why does the music sound like devil may cry? I'm getting the same vibes as nero vs vergil final boss fight from dmc 5.
Yep, they are literally DMC 5 OSTs but remixed
I saw another comparison vid today aaaaaaaaaaand Xiangli Yao was using his signature💀literally worlds between, it's so unfair... also people say he's less clunky than Calcharo, but tbh after playing with Yao today, I actually found HIM to feel kinda weird to play (for me at least). I can't really describe why tho
Ye, it's literally a weopon comparison at this point, and I felt the same weirdness too, but his animations are cool and epic to see 🔥
Could it be that his attack string doesn’t flow very well, sort of like broken momentum. Hopefully we get used it it over time. My bad ping prevents me from doing decent damage with Calculator
@@Mormentoi did 284 k dmg on ult he is way better than calcharo
@@Xdeathslingeryaos Instant Hit is Higher but calcharos follow Up DMG is higher, results in similar dps
@Xdeathslinger keep in mind when you say things like you did X amount on ult you're neglecting calcharo does 100k+ on his ult and depending on you're set up and investment 120-170k per set of DMs the damage is distributed differently between the but there's not a large variance
How to make ultimate xiangli Yao / chalcaro ready in one rotation with only 119 energy recharge?
By doing the rotations right you can always have ult ready with low ER
You can find a demonstration of this in this video at (advanced rotation) section: ua-cam.com/video/DruW6AqICKQ/v-deo.html
@@Mormento thank you, i Will try later
Gear doesnt seem to be equivalent? If you are using ages of harvest then might as well use xly's signature or give him better stats.
Well said
The math doesn't check out IMO.
@@PepperoniRonin. Does he have the standard broadsword?
did chalcaro win....didn't the data on bli bli show xianglyyao won, is that data wrong?

Xiangli yao wins here, as shown in the video if both are played at their best potential xiangli yao wins but the difference between the both is really minimal in my opinion
@@Mormento yes, but the advantage of xiangli yao is that it is an easy rotation, unlike chalcaro... it's good for people with skill issues
Iwtlg !!
Calcharo cr damage 277 and yao 237
Calcharo atk ~2160 Xly atk +2400
Basically jinhsi vs changli. Pure dmg vs fancy tech
there's a problem here.. you can't use same echoes for both, u should be using 0 echoes... the damage formula in wuthering waves is trying to make the atk%, ele% and crit dmg% most equal as possible.. calcharo and xiangli have extremely different types of attributes, if you use echoes that equalize the attributes in one of them, it'll be a lot more stronger than the other one that isn't equal.
I get the idea of this, the thing is that they wouldn't have cleared tower if they used 0 echos, though I think this is a really good approach (your approach) to do the comparison from
@@Mormento yeah, i get ur point, but maybe in another approach, idk, it should be considered too
i did 284 k dmg on ult he is way better than calcharo
He just nuke but his follow Up ist weaker
Its comfy for sure but calcharo Deals also around 400k with nuke + follow up
Bruh how come my yao never do 200k burst dmg? My xy status;
Atk=2.1k
(CR=60% CD=263%) or (CR=53% CD=277%)
Skill dmg bonus=25%
Liberation dmg bonus=23%
Electro dmg bonus=82%
You use void thunder or ligering tunes?
@@Mormentoboth of 'em
I'm using Mech abomination as active echo
Try this rotation with void thunder and , ua-cam.com/video/60ZglUukDAo/v-deo.html .and that should do the trick for you
@@Mormento bruh this link video is not available
You just proved to yourself that 40% cd is comparable to 300 attack exactly like I said... wp.
Both my husbands btw💅
