Yeah, I think ele runes are a little dissapointing. I've been thinking about some kind of spellhance at 60. 40/20 ele/enh for 5/5 flurry. Take the ele skill that gives 9% melee crit after a spell crtit(always will proc from lava burst), way of earth and maelstrom wep, and duelwield 2 +spell dmg weps with good dps. Be agressive in melee range with your shocks while getting maelstrom procs super fast for instant lava bursts, while still being able to deal good damage from range is you can freecast
Yes but I don't think you understand the power creep Ele is getting from other places... With the raid set bonus lightning bolt will be a 1.8second cast, with it having a 50% chance to overload... Then you have chain lightning and lava burst resetting on flame shock damage... On-top of that we can send in our totems with totemic projectionand use nova which if it is like it was in other expansions off the GCD.
As an ele main, phase 2 we are already gonna be incredibly powerful. Just totemic projection and the fire nova rune is good enough for me phase 2. Duel wielding rockbiter with shamanic rage makes all our mana problems go away that we had in vanilla. With the rest of our toolkit available at 40 ele will be complained about a lot in pvp. Its gonna be awesome.
Shamanistic rage gives back 10% of sp a sec for 15 secs. Bis gear at 40 with have around 190 sp unbuffed. That's 285 mana back of your almost 3k mana pool. Way of earth is 10x better. The .2 sec cast time reduction isn't as good as the 2% crit we get from the glass cannon set 2 piece btw. And woe will cancel out the -stam from that set. And the rune that gives instant cast procs from flame shock is better dps/mana than the fire nova rune.
@twinyuccas9286 the shaman disc had a big chat about the belt rune, the proc rate and FS duration is the problem. Statistically they worked out there is a 27% chance of it not procing where as the fire nova will definately add to dps

@twinyuccas9286 that's why we use double rock biter and get more back from the AP bonus
