It's hard to describe how important Circa Survive is to me, exactly, but I'm just so thankful for what they do with every release. Catharsis at an entirely different level.
it’s like i don’t even know what kind of adult i’d be if i didn’t grow up having been blessed with this music…it molded me. so idk what kind of person i’d be today without them
Dude you're dedicated! I saw this comment on the last song haha. But seriously though, I'm with you 100% I just moved to a new school in the fall. The new ep release was timed perfectly and now these songs kind of embody my transition to a brand new town and people. Even better is my absolute favorite.
I remember seeing them for the first time - I was watching and opener and Anthony was literally standing next to us. He was cool and Circa/Saosin has been a part of my life since highschool. I have found myself always listening
Cant believe back in high school we all were jamming Circa and here we are 15 years later and they're still producing magic. Havent lost a single beat. Music has only progressed over the years in the most amazing way possible.
Tbh not the best choice to comment it for this song lol, not to say it's bad it's a great song but it Is a family generic catchy pop song, I think all there other stuff is a lot more unique and hard to describe, this stuff is a lot more easier to digest and slower
@@203-g7w I have heard it several times, I think they would even tell you themselves it's a pretty generic pop song lol, at least in it's main core, obviously there's things like bass and actual guitar riffs but at it's core it is a catchy driving pop song, which is fine, that's not really a jab at it, just the guy said being themselves when literally any other album would've been appropriate for that lol
I thought Imposter Syndrome was my new favorite CS song, but I think this is might be it. At this point I'm just so happy to have new mindblowing extraordinary CS songs!!
Damn this has such a good groove to it. This and sleep well are currently on repeat, just as imposter syndrome was when it first released. Loving the new music!
This band gives me a very polarizing vibe, and it has a lot to do with how unique Anthony’s vocals are. Such a beautiful voice and it gives me the same vibe of the same one of a kind voice that Geddy Lee of Rush had. People were and still are turned away from that band solely because of Geddy’s ability to hit a high register. He broke boundaries with his vocal prowess and so does Anthony. Definitely an inspiration for me to want to improve on my vocals.❤️
I like what I’m getting from this. It’s like a new piece in my journal on this journey of life. I’ll listen to this EP 30 years from now and be like “yep, this is from that one year everyone stood inside and played on their drum machines”. Being able to create with your friends, some who live across the country, during a time where you can’t come together is no easy feat and I applaud you Circa.

Effortless vocals - like floating it really gives me a early 90’s vibe for some reason - gives me the same feeling when I heard Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - they’re not even Connected musically just a vibe - much respect
I've been trying to find the lyrics to 3:03 to 3:22, and haven't found anything about it. The best I can make out is "The empty hour grows, exemplified..." after that I'm not sure. Maybe I'm missing something that was released?
This song truly does make you want to drift, somehow circa can make a song where I feel like someone is describing my mental state in a song, and in another they can make me want to fucking speed on the road
Ok I love circa first of all but guys help me this is driving me crazy from 2:48 to 3:04 sounds so familiar to me and I can't figure out what band or song it is SOS if you know please comment it's driving me nuts.
trying to decipher this part too.. To me it says, "static crown, but (burn, and, then) it rise, ???? dimple the skin" I can tell the word, but to me is far off of "let" sounds like and F, or PL word.
This EP is beautiful but I can’t help but feel overall the instrumentals are neutered a bit. They’re holding back from the talent they really have in their instruments.
I agree that the EP is beautiful. I'm really caught off guard by these electronic drums. Even when the drums sound more real, they still sound electronic.
if youre already givin all songs out for free, you may as well just include a link for a free complete album, so i can just download it all at once and start becoming a fan of the new album, and perhaps donate to their patreon if there was such a link, or go see them live if theyre ever around me. i wont pay for something thats already out for free, but i'd download it if it was "one click" away. This is shaping up to be the only album, heck the only work of Anthony Greens career, that I don’t like. I mean, violent waves grew on me, but I initially liked what I was hearing. Just didn’t understand how the band evolved in the way that they did, but every following album was amazing. The Amulet may even be better than On Letting Go. I just can’t see this aging like fine wine the way Violent Waves did for me. I think I was finally handed a flop from this band.
I totally agree... Circa has been a huge influence on me since I was a teenager.. well into my 30s now they've always blown my mind with how they create music that grows with me and gives me chills listening to them... but I really don't like this.
I could totally see how this could apply to A Dream About Death, but not A Dream About Love. ADAD might be their worst project they’ve put out. ADAL is fucking awesome. Still sounds like Circa just a different vibe. ADAD though, is just not good for them.
I was in the same camp until about a week ago. For months I just shook my head at these EP’s like wtf this is the only music Circa has ever done that I don’t enjoy. Recently at work I had some alone time and I popped in headphones and put them both on and really really tried to absorb them and it turns out they blew my mind apart. I’m totally inlove with these EP’s now and think they’re phenomenal. Now Circa has nothing that I don’t love again. Hopefully maybe the same will happen to you! If not that’s cool 👍 they have a lot of other music to enjoy
It’s definitely different. Its not that I don’t like it, but I can see what you mean…I figured it would be more atmospheric and slow when they announced the title of the EP.

Most emotional I’ve gotten from a circa song since battle, my love
This has a certain level of funkiness that I really appreciate
What I like about this song is that it's not too busy yet it has a lot of nuance to it. There isn't a dull moment at all. catchy groove too - so good!

Doesn't make it ours to condemn
Static cry, flesh and blood
Let it dimple the skin
Pomander
In the shape of a heart that should never believe

Does it matter if it takes my life?
Broken arrow glass in the fire
Missing pieces of a stigma mind
Will we cut the wires in time?
How can you honestly say forever?
Take you what you needed to keep together
Losing our focus in ten different ways
Tripping in out of pretended desire
While you collect to convey, surrender
In a wave you can see splintered mirrors and blood evolving
You don't have to follow every step
In the empty room that you cry
I'm not looking for a reason to stay
Never knowing who to betray
Our sanctions were ready to write on the cubicle wall

Gray static come slowly it will never be the same again
Gray static if I make it, we keep on making all the same mistakes

I don't think they're holding back anything, it takes a lot of talent to create something simple yet so beautiful.
