Kenyan police in Haiti engaged in a gun battle as they patrolled a deserted street in the Caribbean nation.
The officers have been patrolling the streets of Haiti with heavy armored vehicles.
The team from the General Service Unit’s Recce has been patrolling the local streets and port as part of their mandate to fight gangs.
Kenyan police officers in Haiti and their Haitian counterparts have managed to take over a port that has been controlled by gangs for the past five months.
The officers, who are part of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission, managed on Wednesday, July 17, to recapture the Auorite Portuaire Nationale (APN) port, which fell to the gangs on March 6, 2024.
The port is located in Port-au-Prince, the Haitian capital.

You did good Enoch. I have supported the Haitian Mission from the onslaught when Foreign Minister at the time Alfred Mutuwa posted on X that he had volunteered to give 1,000 police to Haita a year ago.
He had to rush home to tell micro manager William Ruto what he had done, and Zakayo fired him for committing Kenya into a treaty without consulting President "Zakayo".
Ruto later received an amazing reception here in Atlanta where I live , and attended the meeting , and then went on to DC landing at Joint Andrews AFB onto the White House, the oval office and the Pentagon
All this was as a result of Alfred Mutuwa's bold move to put Kenya on the map.
If Haiti succeeds and yes it will, Kenya will be a recognised leader in peace keeping around the world.

Haiti, defeated the French under Napoleon and caused them to sell huge tracks of land from Louisiana all the way to Alabama, Parts of Georgia and as far as the Texas border to as far as South Kentucky. ( Known as the Louisiana Purchase), Napoleon sold all this land for pennies in order to sustain the war against the Haitian People which he lost.
It is not by coincidence that Kenya and Haiti now meet in a joint destiny. Kenya is here to liberate Haiti from an evil that has held Haiti since the Haitian Revolution.
On the other hand, I want to reveal to you, that a Global Leader, is going to emerge from Kenya by 2025. That is all I can reveal to you today.
