Great job!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Fantastic work! There are so many good techniques in this video! I love the results!
Outstanding!
This is very amazing sign. Thanks for sharing
Fred, that sign looks awesome! You did a great job giving it a vintage look and I'm sure it will stand out beautifully in it's home. You must have had a really good crew helping with your CNC upgrades, too!
Thanks Tyler. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. Yes, the CNC upgrade crew gets all, well, some credit too. :-)
Fantastic!
Absolute HOME-RUN sir!! Great work as always from you. It looks so amazing!!
Great job ! I’m glad I saw the entire video because I had no idea how much work was involved and creating such a great replica
Wow that is so impressive brother a lot of man hours great job.
Wow that is nothing short of amazing sir, awesome job ;)
Now that is cool!!! Never seen anything like it. All the prep work paid off. Super job Feddie!!!!
Wow, that turned out excellent. Good to see a video from you Fred! Take care!
So nice to hear from you Kortt. I appreciate you watching and sharing some kind words.
Hey Fred. You hit the nail on the head making this vintage sign. Looks fantastic. Nice to see another of your projects my friend. Be safe buddy.
Hey Feddie, gotta tell ya, man, your skills are sharper than ever! I’m with ya here. There’s something about vintage signs. Reminds you of times when things weren’t necessarily easier, but definitely simpler. We could sure use some of that now. You nailed this project for sure. Well done, buddy. Hope you and yours are well. Troy
So good to hear from you Troy. I appreciate you watching and the kind words.
Cool!! I have so much miscellaneous stuff piled up here I might take a shot at something like that. Nice Job!!
Fred, that sign looks SO good. You got me wanting to copy your technique to make my own.
Thanks Greg. Whenever you take a notion let me know. I've worked all the hard parts and can share with you. :-)
Very cool! Great work as always!! Always good to see you on here, hope you have been well it's been a minute.
Feddie,,, This turned out fantastic, another great project by a great builder. You make it all look so easy, but you and I both know all the planning and work that goes into making something like this. As I'v said before you remind a lot of the way Norm Abram does his work,,,, Great job my friend.
Thank you. You are too kind but I appreciate the words. Come by this week and take a look at it in person!
This is amazing. What material did you machine the letters out of?
Its amazing i would like to try something similar with a vintage oil sign, how do you know the voltage necessary? You connected al the stripes in parallel right?
Excellent work! Any chance you could post a link to where you get LED strip lights like that?
Nice work! Could you add a sequential blinking to the arrows? That would make the sign pop further.
Thanks for watching Tim. I looked into one of those relay thingy's for that. Might do it on the next one or retro fit this one later on.
First of all, congratulations for this great project. I would like to ask you such a basic question:- What is the name of that black plastic sheet you had used to machine led neon channels. Thank you.
That is awesome! At any point did you have issues with where you had to cut the strip vs the size of the area you needed to fill?
This is excellent!! What is the black material you cut with the cnc to create the channels?
Good to see you post something haven't heard from you in awhile nice work hows the shop going? Wasn't sure if I need to make some corian cutting boards?
Thanks for watching Todd. I've actually posted several videos from the new shop. I worry that folks aren't notified but they are on the main channel page.
But in big cities like New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and many, some of those Neon or Light Bulb sign panels were metallic, just like the Channel Letters that placed the light bulbs or fluorescent tubes, but also were they metallic?
Man, pocket holes and CNC, I thought this was a woodworking channel. (Just kidding, but I figured I would beat the haters to the punch )
Awesome work brother!
I thought about using mortise and tenons on the sign box.... :-). Thanks for watching Mudd.
Damn... What a beautiful work, man! It turned out better than I could imagine! 😃
About those metal things you used... I don't even know their name... But either way, look for aluminum standoffs. We use them to build quadcopter's frames. They're pretty strong and cheap! (And you can put a screw - usually M3 or M2 - on each end.) 😊
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks for watching MC. They are called binding posts. I could not use a traditional standoff because the channels did not have enough room for the LED and a nut. Believe me, I studied on this one a long time and this is all I could come up with to work. I'll look into the RC world for a better solution now though!
@@GotItMade Absolutely, do that. There's lots of things from the RC world that can help with woodworking. 😊
But it wouldn't use a nut. The standoff itself is a big and long nut... You put screws on both ends. 😊
Very Nice. I just would have made the letters in white or maybe yellow neon LEDs instead.
What material się you use to black hide led ? (the black one you cnc cut out)
Hey Fred! Cool channel you got here. Took me only 2 seconds to get convinced and subbed 😁 Anyway, do you like building guitars too? Cheers
Thanks GKW! I really appreciate you taking a look! I started a Tele recently. It is my first try at it but am having fun too far. Video'ing for a series soon the channel so stay tuned!
Fred ,
Happy Birthday to The Marine Corp and thank you for serving .
Love your work .
Health and Happiness
Tom
What kind of plastic did you use for milling?
Good job overall but I have to only give 9 out of ten for using a perfectly good piece of oak as a scrap piece of wood when you were drilling the channel for the LED "neon" strip. Why damage it like that?
What brand led neon is that?
Poorly designed, the arrows are atrocious. Thanx for your service. Try harder next time.
That sign looks fantastic!
