It'd be awesome if Whitley and Winter join the team. Whitley would slow them down, but Oscar and Jaune (idk how to spell his name) would be able to help him become stronger. It'd be good character development for Oscar because he also was unable to fight for the longest time (he's still not the best at fighting), and Jaune was the same as Oscar. I don't think Whitley would be interested in becoming a hunter, but he could travel with them. It's most likely not going to happen. I feel like Whitley is going to stay and help pick up the pieces.
Honestly, I don't want any new recruits to the team. There's way too much of them already. Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang, Jaune, Ren, Nora, Oscar, Qrow, and Maria. That's 10 characters in the main team. That's a lot already.
@Edgier Boi Probably it will be a good one. We are in the finishing volumes, nearly every event and scene needs to be meaningful to the overall plot. Even though they are made to be believable characters (guided by their personal desires), from a writing perspective, at this point, they are there to advance the main plot.
I mean I always got the impression that Salem was doing it out of a need to get back at "the world." The gods cursed her to walk the earth forever, so she set out to make sure there isn't an earth to walk.
I know some people felt Whitley's turnaround was weird or didn't make sense, but think about what he overheard. Not about Atlas or Nora, but what May said about her family. She wanted to protect Mantle, and that created discourse between herself and her family, and she ended up cutting ties with them, deciding they're not family anymore. After she finishes explaining that, she tells Weiss "They have Henry, yours have Whitley", thereby connecting what happened with her family to what has happened with the Schnees. It's always easier to look at others than to look at yourself, and when you see similarities in someone else, you start to realize something about yourself. Whitley had to hear about the Marigold family and feel the familiarity of what has happened with the Schnee family before he could understand that Winter and Weiss drifting away wasn't necessarily them being awful sisters but the effect that their family dynamic has had on them and their relationships.

Jaune is easily shooting up to my favorite character, going from some kid who lied his way into huntsman academy, to the best brain on the team who can keep the plan moving forward and isn't stopped by pretty much anything.
@@drakenn342 Jaune stood no chance against Cinder and would have been killed easily by her if she had wanted to kill him. Jaune was just acting out of rage over Cinder killing Pyrrha.
It’s kinda ironic. The boy who didn’t know basic huntsman stuff due to his family’s negligence became the brains of both teams. But I agree, Jaune is one of my faves too. I love underdogs.
I legit hope that this was the beginning of Emerald's redemption arc. She's never struck me as an inherently bad person and now she's actually starting to question things around her. I'm hoping that she ends up helping Jaune, Yang, and Ren inside the whale.
I do wanna point out that, while it seems like that is where the show is headed, we shouldn't forgive Emerald super easily. Even ignoring the fact that she used her illusions to make Pyrrha kill Penny, considering Penny got "revived", she is still a literal murderer regardless. Mercury and her killed that faunus bookstore owner (what was it, Hudson or something like that?) in... I think it was early volume 3.
I did not know I needed the Ren symbolance evolution thing in my life, but this was one of the coolest moments in the whole series. Cannot wait for February 6th!!!
Feel like I gotta point it out. Nora being strong and hitting stuff ISNT what she is, what defines her. She’s so much more than that and she is being reductive and her leaning into those thoughts are portrayed as LITERALLY self destructive.
Well when she's just now becoming a character and realizing that's all she's been doing is being the thing that just rushes in and hits stuff with a hammer while making unnecessary commentary like a mascot. Yeah its probably gonna hit when you realize that's what you are after like two years and gain some sentience.
She gonnna; One jump ahead of Salem, That’s all, that’s no Joke. This faction ain’t gonna appreciate the fact she broke XD Okay joking aside, Emerald mainly follows Cinder and will obviously do anything to please her and protect her. I’m think if she’s gonna go after the Lamb her “wish” is gonna involve Cinder and if she does break from her mold, Emerald might ask about the Truth when it comes to Salem Motives. Jinn can only answer questions about the past and present. She can’t predict the future or what will happen, I just hope either way Emerald ask the right question
An interesting development would be if it turned out that the one hundred year flip point for the first question used before the lamp was sealed away happened during the time between rwby asking their question and the present. I'm curious if each question has a hundred year cooldown timer. Or it it starts for all three once the first question is asked. Or if it has an independent anniversary reset day. Like on remnant's new years day or something.

When Harriet said that a teammate is replaceable, that struck a nerve with Ren and Jaune because even though they lost Pyrrha, she is still important to them.
I mean there is some truth to the idea that Ozpin sends children to their deaths, to fight "a war without end" as Hazel put it. Not to say that mass producing huntsmen isn't necessary, but given that the academies have been around seemingly for quite a while, that's a lot of people who died fighting Grimm for zero gain, in terms of the Salem stuff.
@@Shadowlegendlover I don’t think it’s for zero gain. Look at Remnant before the series started. The 4 kingdoms were in harmony, and the biggest threat to a “united humanity” was the treatment of the Faunus. You take another century or so to continue strengthening relations, work on the Faunus conditions, and you have a pretty good condition to bring the gods back, ask them to judge humanity, and expect a “you are not perfect, but you have fulfilled our criteria within expectations. You are worthy of a second chance.” Just because Ozpins win condition is a lot harder than Salem’s, doesn’t mean he wasn’t making progress.

I have a quote from a book of mine that I hope you will like Arnold, “A man’s emotions are what define him, and control is the hallmark of true strength. To lack feeling is to be dead, but to act on every feeling is to be a child.”
That quote is pretty much Harriet in a nutshell. She tries to void all emotion while at the same time lashing out in anger so easily whenever someone exposes the truth about her.
I really liked the fact that Harriet looked at Jaune and Ren when talking about replacing a partner with no fucking idea who they lost, clearly feeling very angry about it We still love you Pyrrha and you can never be replaced.
Whitley's development is the one thing that could repair the Schnee family itself, but possibly not the name. Also, your question from Volume 6 did raise one itself. How can Tyrian and Mercury access the Vault to the Relic of Destruction without a Summer Maiden? And who that Maiden might be?
it’s been a while since I’ve watched murderofbirds and I come back and this man has a full on beard and Afro, and it looks fucking AWESOME ON YOU DUDE!!!
My predictions for the rest of the volume: Emerald takes the last question from Djinn; Jaune learns to “extend” his aura in a shield to protect his team from the explosion in the whale; Oscar discovers semblance!
So here’s a thought: We all know Penny is a robot and her strings control her blades, thought is always LOOKS like they’re floating unless you know her. SO, what if she became human, and her semblance becomes Polarity, that way she can still control that many if not more and becomes a type of « reincarnation » of Pyrrah. I only say this because se never got to see the full extent of Pyrrah’s powers except when she killed Penny by accident. And we also all wanted to see what it would’ve been like to see our girl as a Maiden. So....just my thoughts haha.
@@krossbim3443 I think the God of Light might turn her into a human at the end of the series. Because since anyone can use the staff, it makes no sense to use it on her, because if someone creates anything else, she goes back to being how she was. Ruby and friends are probably gonna tell the Gods that Remnant doesn’t need them, but because they united the world, they get one wish. Jaune will try to bargain for Pyrrah and the they’ll tell him that it was the selfishness of one human that couldn’t let go that started all of this. And in the end, after a lot of tears, they’ll vote to give Penny what she deserves, to be a human girl. And she’ll wake up to feel her first heartbeats and start to cry. That’s how I’d write it.
@@krossbim3443 the only issue with that idea is the second they try that. Atlas falls onto mantle and thousands die. The staff cannot be used for more than one thing at a time and its being used to hold atlas up (because ofcourse ironwood would not have backup gravity dust engines installed, why would james do something practical and smart?)

You know that the situation with Salem true goal is bad when Tyrian, the crazy murder who worships Salem, is the one being logical about the true end goal of Salem’s long term plan. Something tells me Emerald is going to use the last wish which exposes Salem, which causes emerald and hazel to rebel and maybe help team rwby.
Raven wasnt even shown with taiyang. Its doubtful, also while raven could pull in some backup due to who she is and how her semblamce works. She probably wont get many people willing to follow her. The bandit tribe scattered and to the rest of mistral if not the world she is just a bandit boss. So at best she might be able to bring in a handful of people. But against salem being on the field of battle that wont be enough to turn the tide though it might be enough to minimize mantles casualties
Grimm also have regular sight and hearing in addition to their emotion sense too, so of course Emerald's Semblance would work on them. I'm just not convinced Emerald actually fooled the Seer so much as the Seer just not caring about Emerald. Emerald would be a designated "friendly human" after all.
@@jeffreysmith236 if it didnt see on its own it'd bump into things all the time. It clearly has adequate senses to navigate, and recognize people as one approaches salem with a "call" about beacon. As well as knowing to notify salem when it heard its enemies arguing over its wattz bag. They are salem's security camera/ phone system but they are also still functional grimm.
It doesn’t matter if May is right or not. If Salem gets the staff than Atlas will fall right into Mantle and more people will die so whether May wants to or not Atlas’s problems are Mantle’s problem too.
Let's be real, May not caring if all the rich people die is just as bad as Ironwood not caring if all the poor people die. But Ruby and co not being sure what to do doesn't help either. The only problem with Ironwood's point of view is that he didn't try a last-ditch effort to communicate, both with his own population and the rest of the world. Which was pretty much the problem with Ozpin, but he probably had ample reasons not to
That is the crux of the problem. Both sides need eachother to survive. If atlas shot up into the upper atmosphere even with the farmlands they had the kingdom would not survive for long. It seems naive to push for saving everyone only when you dont realize that letting one group die will domino effect into everyone dying. May does have a point in that mantle is counting on maybe a dozen huntsmen to fight off a grim horde. While atlas has the military. However the military is also being met by the body of salem's forces while mantle is only dealing with stragglers

If Hazel wishes for what Salem's hiding from him, that would be every single one of Jinn's wishes this cycle have been the same damn wish. Gotta get boring, telling the same story every to every mortal who lets you out. Feel bad for Jinn lowkey XD
I think it could be great, because Ozma just explained everything to him, so it's not being hidden for Hazel now. Jinn could turn the question and show him how she planned for his sister's death and to enrole him afterward (just a guess, but it'd be cool if it was true)
Seeing as the lamp is only supposed to bestow knowledge and not grant wishes, she's probably used to giving long answers to questions. But yes, I agree, haha. It would certainly be interesting to be in her shoes and see just how many people ask about Salem over the years.
Well we dont know what ozpin asked salem at the beginning of the cycle. Oz asking how to kill salem was pre-ozpin and is shown to ask 3 questions then meaning that was a seperate cycle. What i think would be fascinating is if it waznt oz at all who asked the first question of that cycle
@@Desdemona-XI Good question. It's true that we saw his old self ask three question, and one was already taken when Raven gave the lamp to Yang. Who could have ask the lamp when it was sealed? The maiden before Raven? What was asked? Really good question
It seems to me that it's related to periods of intense emotions, introspection, and mental growth, rather than a strictly physical one. Qrow may be going through that now, especially starting around when they encountered the apathy all the way to the loss of clover. I could see it happening. Perhaps a realization that his semblance, like Clovers, controls all luck, not just bad luck, and it's his own negative outlook on life that coloured his semblance. In clovers lowest point, when his mind was filled with the most doubt, having to arrest a friend, his luck turned sour and he was struck down. In Qrow's highest point, when he had been feeling better than ever thanks to his new friend, his luck was better than ever... sort of.
I think Qrow actually absorbs others good luck leaving them with bad luck. He did say that he gave other bad luck and that’s why he flys solo most of the time. He been unable to control it and that’s why he misunderstands it. Also, when he told rwby and friends about Salem and his symblance in the woods, they framed him in between the campfire high key alluding to my theory. Also there’s no way he’s not Ruby’s real father.
@@juri0999 pretty sure RT have publicly dismissed the theory of qrow being ruby's dad. But qrow has certainly been a major figure ruby looks up to. Basing her weapon off his. Relishing his stories. In a way its implied shes closer to qrow as qrow taught her more while tai trained yang in hand-to-hand which she improved on with ember celica. The idea that he absorbs others good luck is interesting except hes been the victim of his semblance before as well. Clovers good luck failed because like every semblance it requires aura to work. When qrow broke clovers aura he lost his luck and was immediately impaled. Conversely when qrows aura breaks the bad luck effect is dispelled. And ironwoods mettle would break too.. qrows line about being unable to keep it in check however does imply it could grow into an an active semblance. Saving up minor bad luck and then releasing a more targetted wave of it. Perhaps making enemies weapons jam or misfire or making them slip on ground they normally wouldnt.
Well Ozpin did say semblances can evolve so I don't see why not. After all it is true that Qrow is older than the kids but I don't think age matters when it comes to semblances, they can probably grow and evolve during a person's whole life

Ren is now a mood ring and once again Tyrian the crazy one always being the logical one

Yeah Jaune's character development is great. He has come so far from how he started off as.
V5 is when he truly became one of my faves. It sounds dark, but the fact he went for the kill shot against Cinder made me proud.
I also want that to happen :
Hope Salem redemption
Eugh. Maybe after we get Mercury's turnaround since he hasn't killed any of the cast or like, anyone by comparison.
wish salem would learn from his mistakes wish?
Amen. Nora has so much more to her. And i think the others can see theres more but that she simply hasnt had the chance to show what that is, yet.
Well when she's just now becoming a character and realizing that's all she's been doing is being the thing that just rushes in and hits stuff with a hammer while making unnecessary commentary like a mascot. Yeah its probably gonna hit when you realize that's what you are after like two years and gain some sentience.

That’s all, that’s no Joke.

Okay joking aside, Emerald mainly follows Cinder and will obviously do anything to please her and protect her.

@@krossbim3443 I think the God of Light might turn her into a human at the end of the series.

PLEASE Do not spoil the next episode for those who haven’t seen it yet. You guys are in for a treat 💕
So ren's semblance leveled up and changed... Does that mean Qrow's semblance can change as well?
