Ssdly Peter Tomarken and his wife died in a plane crash 2006 (they were helping out with a volunteer medial transportation flight). Peter and his wife were passengers on the flight. Rod Roddy died of colon cancer in 2003. Both were legends and definitely added to the excitement of the show.
They’ve appeared a few times before this episode. The times Peter’s daughters appeared was when the Beverly Hills Sports Camp visited the show in 1984 & 1985 and they were part of the camp
When Pam won the fur coat, there were EIGHT whammies on the board so she had almost a 50-50 shot at hitting a whammy. If I were playing, I'd wait until I saw fewer whammies on the board.

This became the very last Christmas episode of Press Your Luck on CBS which they taped, Rod Roddy replaced Johnny Olsen as the new announcer on The Price Is Right, and stayed on the show for 18 years until he passed away from colon cancer in 2003. Peter Tomarken hosted the show until its series finale on September 26, 1986 to end its 3 years on the air. He returned to appear on Whammy! The All New Press Your Luck With Todd Newton in March 2003, when he made a special appearance. He was killed in a tragic plane crash in 2006 with 2nd wife Kathleen on board. May the Whammy Bless Rod Roddy and Peter Tomarken.
I was so sad when I heard Peter Tomarken died in a plane crash. I loved him. He was funny. He was hot. His smile was infectious. I also loved Rod Roddy. Bless them both. RIP.
Oh my goodness merry Christmas today these three players are after high stakes and big bucks but they’ll have to avoid the whammy as they play the most exciting game of there lives from television city in Hollywood it’s time for Press Your Luck and now here’s your host Peter Tomarken
A lot of Jewish people have Christmas trees, which I think that as a Christian is just fine. I am glad Peter and his beautiful family were able to have one and enjoy the kind and giving spirit of the season, which I believe is the point. RIP to Peter & his wife and God bless his surviving family!!!🌲🌲🌲❤❤❤🎄
Much like on Legends Of The Hidden Temple where the player misses the other Half Pendant & subsequently gets captured by the 3rd & Final Temple Guard ending the Temple Run in a Triple Seizure.
R.I.P. Peter Tomarken. Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas in Heaven from all of us
Very sad; such a kind and handsome and charismatic man!!!💔❣
Tomarken's kids did contribute to 2019's revival of new "Press Your Luck", hosted by Liz Banks.
Paul Nguyen How did they do that exactly?
@@mitchellries256 Well the Tomarkens perished in a plane crash in 2006, and they left three kids as survivors.
Paul Nguyen ...we mean what part did the kids have in the revival, paul.

He was the pilot, idiot.
This is probably the only time you get to see Peter’s children
They’ve appeared a few times before this episode. The times Peter’s daughters appeared was when the Beverly Hills Sports Camp visited the show in 1984 & 1985 and they were part of the camp
Peter also had a son Jason who worked on Peter’s other show Wipeout
Awwwww Rod Roddy looks adorable dressed like Santa Claus

Tomarken's kids survive him & his wife.
I don't get why they didn't just let him host the revival over Todd Newton.
Christopher Hamilton This is not my opinion but I guess they just found Todd Newton to be a better host for that version of the show.

Alexis and Candace are the names of Peter's twin daughters
Rod Roddy makes a cameo appearance twice in this episode as "Santa Claus."

Wow. Pam’s strategy worked.
Her strategy was to appear with two dopes.
@@kenbob1071 Not that kind of strategy. It’s the strategy to hope the opponent gets the whammy.
That disney trip was $1,500.00 in 1985.. Unfortunately that price is $3,500.00 in 2019 unless you can get great deals...
Of course you realize it's about the same price when inflation is factored in.

Are we sure that the Whammy isn't related to the Grinch? Because the Whammy was very Grinch-like in this episode.

@@plushbatfan What does that have to with PYL?

If three players hit a whammy there out O-U-T out
Mark losing a Whammy was rather pointless
I think he thought it was a free spin to lose a whammy and he get to keep that 1 spin.
Dude was not too bright... 12 geese a-layin'....lol.
Peter Tomarken was Jewish.....why were they showing him with a Christmas tree?
Eric Nelson I am guessing it's against the Jewish religion to have a Christmas tree?
