    Welldone Ben, another fantastic episode. I liked the gear review and seeing what other hunters take. Learning wee tips and tricks always helpful.

    Super uplifting , most feel good vid I’ve seen. No less entertaining if the only thing harvested was a bag of muffins and a packet of crisps...magnificent scenery, real person commentary...top shelf...Bender’s standard unsurpassed...Bang!

      @bendb_wildaboutnz  3 роки тому

      Cheers mate, yeah I go along time between shooting animals, so usually the muffins and chips are the ones in trouble haha. Hard to beat that beautiful west coast scenery! The more time I spend there, the happier I am!

    Another great hunting doco👍, love the effort always you put in to explore what’s over the next ridge line.
    That Osprey backpack is definitely money well spent, with the best warranty on the market. I’ve had mine for 4 years and do multi day tramp/hunting on average once a month usually loaded up to 35kg. My shoulder strap tensioning bit broke while I had it loaded with 50kg carting out a stag last month so we just emailed Osprey and told us to take it to Bivouac, they replaced the broken bit no questions asked.

      Cheers Mate, thats the beauty about hunting in the southern alps is the opportunities are endless if your willing to keep going further. Yeah mate, 100% the warranty is one of the best, hence why I switch to that pack after the debacle with tatonka. Plus the Aether is waaaay lighter than the Tatonka Bison I was using and they are such a good pack for carrying heavy loads considering they aren't a heavy pack. Hope the mountains are treating you well mate!

      Cheers Mate, DPM's are the bees knees in terms of camo. Unfortunately the DPM pants arn't very durable, hence why I not in full fatigues haha

    Great messages throughout Ben interlaced with spectacular scenery. Always enjoy watching your wilderness backpack hunts, you definately squeeze that last drop out of life!! Ps that chamois buck in the creek bottom looked like a nice animal, i presume you have set your standards higher again? Minimum 10.5 inches perhaps?

      Yeah mate, really trying to pass on my knowledge as a well qualified solo backpack hunter haha. I just hope these films can inspire, as well as educate up and coming hunters. Life's so precise and beautiful, hence why I search for the most fulfilling adventures possible. I evaluated that chamois in the creek quite meticulously and he would only be in the 9" class, just didn't have the height. Nonetheless, hope life is treating you well and another epic mission is just around the corner!

    Another awesome vid mate, love the hard work over multiple days, just a question on those crampons are they the k10 or KTS ones, I’ve used the rubber instep type but as you’ve said the rubber is a weak point, but they def helped in that tussock. 👍

    • @bendb_wildaboutnz
      @bendb_wildaboutnz  4 роки тому +1

      Cheers Mate, love putting in those hard yards as its so fulfilling! Yeah mate agree the rubber ones become unserviceable fairly quickly. I use the k10 (www.gearshop.co.nz/collections/snow-ice_crampons/products/kahtoola-k10-hiking-crampons) highly recommend them!!

      Hey Mate, Its the Ridgeline Evolution jacket. I've trashed that jacket since reviewing it in 2019 and its a bloody good jacket (lightweight as well). www.hamillstaupo.co.nz/product/ridgeline-evolution-jacket/?attribute_pa_size=s&gclid=CjwKCAiA_eb-BRB2EiwAGBnXXjf9jMHgJGVnBP-IreNvuff-AvrmZRKWs-RX1p3Dw2kp0dIeHDunthoC1AIQAvD_BwE
