      My views? I find it silly that Bethesda-Proper tries to compare the DLC to Far Harbor, despite the key staff that made Far Harbor good... not being a part of this game.
      ES6 is some strange concept that supporters will claim is a Unicorn; anybody with a nose will tell you the Unicorn is a dead horse (after they stop gagging), and anyone with eyes and ears will point out how the unicorn has a swarm of flies nesting and feeding off of it. There's *Certainly* "Hope" for the game, but it's hope held by the foolish.
      Microsoft *Needs* to outsource the Zenimax IPs they purchased, before they're dragged into a swamp of Complacent Incompetence like Halo was.

    If I had to guess, the reason why Andreja doesn't offer much to the DLC narrative despite being directly connected to the setting is because Bethesda doesn't want to lock people who had her die in the main quest out of content. Which is incredibly lame and lazy as hell, but also in keeping with how the rest of the game is designed.

      That's an interesting theory! My guess is that House Va'ruun was one of the initial factions in the base game, and the content was cut so it could be sold back to consumers at a premium.

    Here we have a human civilization that has been developed in isolation. Nobody in the settled systems know the location of their homeworld. You would think they have developed their own means to travel around the stars but apparently they go to the settled systems to shop ship parts from stroud eklund. Such a huge miss in creating something unique and meaningful, an anti-climax. Neither do we get new game mechanics like space station building or new skill traits that can be aquired by interacting with the varuun culture. It’s as lame as i predicted. I feel that the Bethesda team is lacking leadership with a vision, antention to details and an understanding what made previous titles that popular. This is not the way to keep the fan-base commited. It recembles the stratefy of The Creative Assembly and the Total War Series, most of the commited total war fans abandoned their later titles and even the online community is now dead.

    12:50 I don't know if you are just misremembering, but Fallout 3, 4, and Skyrim did not "virtually let you so anything" They had tons of NPCs that you couldn't kill. I don't usually glaze New Vegas, but that is the only Bethesda Softworks game where you can actually just kill everyone (other than Yes-Man, which has an in-game explanation). Makes sense since BGS didn't develop it.

      Like you could walk into Megaton, kill the sheriff immediately. Go up to the bar and kill Burke. And then save the town or detonate the bomb. All without talking to anyone. The game let you fail quests before you even started them by doing stuff like that. You could at least kill most of the town if you wanted.

    "DLC doesn't lack content for the price that it costs"
    Uh, it does exactly just that. For $30 this should've been damn near a expansion in terms of content. Remnant 2 has $10 DLCs that have more dialogue and story than the entirety of this slop. For $30 you can get all of the Remnant 2 DLC currently and have WAY more content, when it comes to weapons, armor, story, etc. BGS had a full year to try and make this worth $30 and they screwed it up. They didn't even fix most of the QoL concerns players had with the game. At this point I'm keen to think that BGS has pretty much given up on Starfield without outright admitting it. The entire writing in Starfield makes FO4 look like a damn Spielberg flick in comparison. Really hoping BGS doesn't screw up ES6.

Part of the problem could be my console is just long overdue for a cleaning. When Dragon's Dogma 2 released on PS5 I had similar crashing / overheating problems. At first I thought it was the game, but then after I cracked my PS5 open and cleaned out all the dust, it worked perfectly. It’s just so crazy to me how much of a downgrade Starfields base game and DLC is from Fallout 4 and it’s DLC. As much criticism as Fallout 4 got it’s still WAY better than Starfield. A roughly 100 man dev team made FO4 compared to the 400 plus dev team that made Starfield. Yet Fallout 4 feels like it has way more content than Starfield and was developed in half the amount of time. I think over the last decade BGS has lost a lot of the better devs.

  • @Narniak69
    @Narniak69 День тому

    I think the fundamental problem with Starfield base game is the conflict of core gameplay mechanics, especially with respect to NG+ The game actually functions fairly well as a looter/shooter even without the Fallout VATS system. The issue is the terrible decision that was made to make you lose all your stuff when you go to NG+. In order to organically progress XP, skills, and Star powers, you are forced to go into NG+. However doing so makes you lose everything, all your weapons, suits, ships, outposts, resources, credits, etc. And the Starborn suit and ship you get for each NG+ are complete GARBAGE compared to normal gear.

    • @davidrenton
      @davidrenton 16 годин тому

      why would you play NG+ with all your stuff, it's one of the few things in Starfield worth doing (far worse than their prior games) but playing the game again and having no loot collection, ship construction. sure it's busy work , but without it a SF playthrough would be even more dull
      You would have already done the Quests, got the loot,seen the POI's, so what would be the point in doing it again for a game with no real RPG , Choice elements and just more spongey combat.
      SF is a one and done, one i've finished it, i'm never going back to it

They took too many lessons from Fallout 76 when going back to making singleplayer games and it's biting them now. This is so sad. I’m very happy with the depth of the DLC. It is obvious that these reviewers haven’t fully played through the full DLC.

      @@SistaCitizen This is "Misthaze Cavern". It’s located to the right of the Rift. To the northwest of "MAL'EEM DAM", there is an industrial pipe. From there, you need to head north along the cliff, and at the base, you’ll find a cart with a tarp.

    The DLC is great! I do agree with the $30 price tag. It's far too short to ask that much. Dawn of Ragnarok was $30 and it offered a lot of hours of content.

    I hope there are no starfield mods. It's clear Bethesda doesn't care about their games, why should we. And I hated the intro. You can't sneak.
