- The guys in the shop are at it again, doing what they love and building the best Toyota Land Cruisers on the planet. In this episode, we feature this stage 2 FJ60 restoration with just a few upgrades. The H55F 5 speed transmission and aftermarket fuel injection are all modifications this FJ60 needed to start its second lease on life. Plus...most people agree...short cuts are bad, and taking them while restoring any vehicle, especially a classic Toyota Land Cruiser is a terrible thing to do... so STOP IT!
Its a crime that this channel doesnt have more subscribers! Great work team! Just picked up a FJ60 myself and she is going to need a lot of work
Nice work on the 60!
Outstanding build as always!
Thank you , always enjoy your humor.
Thanks!
Love those powder coated wheels on the 60. Outstanding work!
At least my seat mounts have clean welds and are nicely powder coated!
Really they're there only attractive part of my interior right now when my GF isn't sitting in it 🤣
Looking at the Stop It section, I'm willing to bet where that car came from...
I like to send my fj60 to you for resto ,, good work men👍🏼👍🏼
Hahaha love the stop it’s. Afraid what you guys would find with mine
Beautiful work! Thank you for the spray card that I ordered!
Absolute beautiful 60.interior especially is awesome
As always you guys do Beautiful work!!
So far this is my favorite FJ60 after watching hundreds of UA-cam video.. .. what is the tire size?
Looks great! Any chance of getting the carpet source and color code you used on this one? It’s exactly what I’m looking for for my 60 series.
the things I see on the trucks I find in VA on my channel are just as bad with the home made stuff. makes me laugh all the time.
Sweet 60 build. It's cool you can get aftermarket FI for those. Are you going to be selling those ARB roof racks for the 80 series?
Thanks! The aftermarket EFI options have improved a lot lately, making it a good option. Yes, ARB does have a base rack for the 80 series!
I want one!
Thanks Gary!
If you would be so kind, brother, if this car is available, I want to buy it, and how much is it?
I'm sorry, it's a build for a client. All of our builds are.
Why we don’t see Toyota V8s in FJ60s restorations?
I must say that when you poke fun at the dumb modifications and repairs that people do is a little lame. We were all young and stupid once. We had to start somewhere. Al of us don't have access to thousands of $$$ of equipment and professionals who know how to use them. Maybe its a 16 year old kid who doesn't have the money or the tools or the knowledge to do it correctly. Someday this same kid is going to want a 6figure restoration and will choose a different shop......just sayin
I understand your point. I saw this coming, and I really don't mean any offense with the stop-its. Here is why I went ahead with this stop it. I see, over and over, clients who buy these types of "restorations" that have been dressed up just for a quick flip and intentionally misrepresented by sellers. It's a business model that's all too common in the classic 4X4 world. The truth is slowly creeping out about these types of vehicles, but not quickly enough. You are right, we all have to start somewhere, and obviously we had to go through (and still are going through) a huge learning curve to get where we are today. The difference is, we didn't come into the market as amateurs who don't know any better trying to represent our work as top of the line, and charge accordingly. Plus, most of the work I point out wouldn't have taken thousands of dollars in equipment to do right, just the willingness to care a little about what they were doing.
Still....I really do appreciate the feedback. I'll try to make sure our stop-its are aimed at being constructive.
@@procruiser Sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about trucks that were supposedly restored. I assumed you were talking about trucks you bought and commenting about the work that the previous owner did. Sorry, my mistake.
@@vin9114 Not at all. I completely understand your point. I just get frustrated when people do things wrong, especially when they were things that would have been easy to get right with little or no extra money / effort.
@@procruiser You shouldn't apologize, your stop its are a public service. While all of those "repairs" were cringe worthy, many of them were serious safety concerns that put the driver, passengers and anyone on the road by them at risk. The sad thing is your customer paid a premium over an unrestored unmolested Land Cruiser and is going to have to pay you again to undo the damage.
There is a time and a place for quick and dirty repairs and bubble gum welds, but if one is going to restore a vehicle it should be done properly. That doesn't mean a concourse finish, but proper fasteners, trim, a competent welder. A favorite saying I picked up from a friends grandfather is, "If you didn't have the time to fix it right the first time, where did you think you'd find the time to fix your half assed repair when it fails?"
rich mans toys
yep most all that was a hack job on the stop it stuff very lazy stuff
