Filming an underdeveloped rural area where many people commonly use firewood or coal as primary heating material while blaming & issuing Russians for cutting gas supply. Yeah, yeah. Everything is Russia's fault.
For every problem there are usually multiple solutions. Temporary solutions for electricity and heat: 1. Solar lanterns are very inexpensive but highly efficient for providing light as they are small and last for several hours each time they are recharged by the sun. 2. Rocket stoves are much better for cooking and heating than traditional wood stoves or gas. Biomass pellets made from recycled paper and wood waste are ideal for fuel. The rocket stoves could also heat small radiators for longer lasting heat. Everything can (and should) be produced locally or regionally. Permanent solutions: 1. Solar panels for every home and then CHP (Combined Heat & Power) and Enhanced Geothermal energy for commercial and industrial use. The three biggest challenges are always Scale, Scope, and Speed of deployment. Cost is a minor factor when the solution is immediate and the ROI is both short term and ongoing. For every problem there are usually multiple solutions.
Temporary solutions for electricity and heat:
Permanent solutions:
Nobody would ever be in the dark or cold in their homes again.
