- Fantastic scenery on the drive down Van Reenen's pass over the Drakensberg mountains in South Africa. The pass is on the N3 highway between Durban and Johannesburg, and is a good, well maintained road. The pass drops 590 metres from the village of Van Reenen at the top to the Sandspruit turnoff at the bottom, on the way to Ladysmith. The weather here can be treacherous, with high winds, snow, fog, rain, smoke, hail or all of these at once! Traffic is usually heavy, so caution is advised.
Nice background music as well, very relaxing. Thanks.
Such nice views, very kiff
Wow I have travelled that pass numerous times I cannot number. Done it by car, bike, bus and truck, but is now many years since been there now living in the Cape. I knew every bend before you got to it. 😂 . Yes, hectic pass when there is dense mist, high winds and snow
Reminds me of climbing that mountain with a hiace, trying to save diesel and walking it up with the trucks😂 Until tour managers started reprimanding me of it! I am a freak with saving fuel
Haha! You could do worse things than save fuel!!
