Be sure to put some towels/tarp down on the ground so when you completely unroll the door at 2:45, you don't scratch the finish.

Good spot 💪🏻 Yes definitely if you’ve got a nice door ! This one was getting replaced in a few weeks so I automatically didn’t worry about it 😂. Usually have a piece of carpet.

While the door tracks are lined up where taken off - what accounts for the wear on the roller on one side- misalignment somewhere y/n.? Did the guides get checked for vertical and the door for Level? Just asking perhaps the door wasnt correctly aligned in the first instance, perhaps?

Short answer is the tracks are just a guide for the door unlike a sectional door where the rollers sit in a groove, that means a roller door actually floats around slightly which also accounts for any slight building movement and prolongs service intervals, the door always seems to favour one side more than the other as it also floats on the shaft via the springs which can have upto 6 inches of stretch if required. This is completely normal.

My door curtain isn't lining up correctly when rolled up. Looks to be bulging one way. What's the solution there?
Great content by the way, keep up the great work - thanks mate 👍

Cheers 😁 Easiest solution until I can make a a video is to remove the tracks, pull the door out a bit past closed and see if you can roll it up straight without the tracks. You’ll then see if the door has been installed too far over to one side or not or if it was the track placement causing the issue which in that case you can move the tracks over a bit to suit.

If your neighbor is close enough to hear your garage door opening, then they are too damn close...

Have you ever replaced the Nylafelt on a door?

Attempted it 15 years ago and was a nightmare. Pretty much impossible unless you’ve got the huge factory equipment

Was this door a gliderol & wondering whats your opinion on gliderol doors. Theyre quite a bit cheaper to purchase than steel line in my area. Taurine is another option which we have on our shed they seem to be good quality. Just wondering your opinion on whether to spend about $1000 more for steel line or if gliderol/taurine would be no problems. Thankyou!

      Hi 👋🏻
Good question. Many years ago I’d say Gliderol was ok. Now Gliderol sectional doors are a very bad design with failures,
Gliderol roller doors I think are still good and haven’t really changed. I use Steel-line and I’m very surprised they are more expensive than Gliderol. Over here it’s the opposite - Gliderol are way overpriced. Taurean doors are their own brand I think but pretty sure they use old Steel-line manufacturing equipment. The new Steel-line doors are heaps better. You could also try Dynamic Door Service they supply Steel-line cheaper than Steel-line direct.
