"This is the same Matt Turk who held all 14 records in Punch-Out. The guy whose records stood strong, despite the combined efforts of some of the greatest players in the world"
i remember the first time someone passed me a joint. i sat for the next couple hours in this state staring at the grooves in a mouse pad--just chasing that dragon ever since.
A being who lives in a dark empty void with nothing but a single screen where he sets world records that take years to beat or even tie with. And the runner… was Matt Turk.
For some reason this made me vividly manufacture an image that fit with this comment. It is comprised of a few shots, it starts with a zoom in shot (which is also slowly spinning) from the left 3/4 of a man, sitting crosslegged infront of a 1980's CRT TV, the screen showing insane gameplay, the background and floor featureless black void. The second shot is from on top of the TV, the man sits there in timelapse, endlessly gaming, a glowing representation of the hands of a clock in the background, aimlessly spinning rapidly, doing nothing to make the man stop. Third shot is from over the shoulder of the man, the game on the screen comes to its close, the man places the remote on the black floor, leans back and nods his head once. The CRT TV turns off and the black void covers all. And this image made of your comment is repeating. He is destined to infinitely set records.

@@richardpender3178 “it turns out, Punch-Out wasn’t his only interest.”
@@Gerfuggery "at first it was only his fourth record, but soon it was clear this was a different type of run."
And he held that record... until a player by the name of Darbian came along.
