I think it should be canon that, like FudgeMuppet, Sulan Dres is a bit embarrassed that he doesn't have the same gravelly voice the rest of his Dunmer folk have. Everyone thinks he is cold, quiet, calculating and mysterious. When in actuality, he's simply embarrassed by his own voice.
This is definitely one of those occasions where immersion and beauty has run into the practicalities of filming, because most of the time you're in a dungeon, I only see your hands.
That is why I don’t use elfx or lux, I use enb, but these lighting mods, they look really good and realistic but aren’t practical for actually playing the game as in a dungeon you can’t see anything.
Eh, if you use night eye potions or spells it helps with sneak characters. For other characters it actually gives a purpose to torches/lanterns/light spells. To each their own though!
I like to imagine some of the side commentary is the characters thoughts to himself. Sneaking through the frozen wastes at night to avoid a daedra: "The red moon is the big one, right? Yeah, reds the big one. Funnily enough, I don't think about the moons all that often."
Not gonna lie, watching your videos and hearing the lore has inspired me to make my own lore-heavy characters, these videos are so good. I've got Ysvina the Forsworn necromancer now and I'm working on Cylia the dunmer, class pending. Might make Cylia a priestess of Azura, but the lore's so rich it's hard to decide.
I agree. I made a nord, born and raised by dark elves in morrowind. Never set foot in Skyrim before the playthrough, experiencing how alien his homeland seems compared to morrowind. Very fun!
Update: I added a bunch of mods and started working on Neviznak, my Dwemeri blacksmith. He's become a recurring character in the writing I do with my friends as well, we're having a lot of fun exploring the lore and theories together.
Also Enaisiaons mods (Vokrii, Wintersun, Morningstar, Evenstar, Odin Magic), Nordic UI, Vibrant Weapons, Believable Weapons, Immersive Interactions+Take a Seat, Alternate Conversation Camera, some headtracking mod, Leviathan 2H+Vanargand 1H Animations (and the sneak/archery animations by the same mod author), JKs Skyrim / Dawn of Dawn of Skyrim cities, Daedric Shrines AIO, rougeshots Skeleton Replacers, Bears of the North. These are all the other ones I could see or were mentioned in the vid
@@JaymzGames You replied to my other comment a bit back but what do you mean Heavy Burns 2021 graphics list? I skimmed through his channel and couldn't find it.
Strongly recommend trying Mephala's Devotee power, Whispers of Betrayal - at least on rare occasion. Sometimes slightly buggy, but man is it satisfying to pull off. Find a good hiding spot near several enemies, pray & activate the power, and take control of the one closest to you. Like Frenzy that can be cast through walls without needing to aim. Then it's fun to throw your "puppet" over the ledge for extra oomph when you've beaten the others. There could be some awesome RP moments for Sulan Dres later in this playthrough. Food for thought!
We all hope to see more uploads of the story to continue. And hopefully we get to see them soon because this is a very interesting series that you have started.
This was great. I loved the recap's. Awesome visuals and some good storytelling. Dark elves have kinda been the least interesting to me, mainly due to ignorance. I just don't know too much of their lore and culture. But this is really got me liking the Dunmer. Thanks a ton, Scott. 😄
Sera, you must go back to Morrowind and experience the Ashlands and the Great Houses and the ruins of Dagon Fel. Float, untethered into the sky and rain fire and ice and lightning upon your foes. Learn the secret truth of the Sixth House and play their bells.
My dear ignorant Outlander, you should try to get into the OG Morrowind. Especially now that thanks to the OpenMorrowind engine, you can play the game on your smartphone with full access to mods. Better than most mobile games with a heavy focus on monetization, anyways.
Great character, storytelling, looking forward to the next episode, also I have never played with mods as i play Skyrim entirely on Nintendo Switch so I'm always excited to see a modded Skyrim LP, keep it up Scott you're doing great!
Me: “I wonder what kind of thoughts run through Scott’s head to create such wonderful builds and stories?” Me after watching this let’s play: “Existential dread and Elder Scrolls VI graphics. Yup, that’s what it is!”
Personally I like the Tweaks Glowing Baubles mod for portable lighting. You can craft it at any cooking pot with an Ebony Ore and a filled Petty Soul Gem. It's quite bright, comes in 8 colours, equips unslotted, and turns off automatically when sneaking. You can get Ebony Ores pretty early in the game if you ride a horse to the top of the Throat of the World (where you get the Notched Pickaxe.) It's very much a set-it-and-forget-it kind of thing.
My compliments, Scott. Your writing is some of my favorite! Awesome content man. Will always happily consume any of your original in-universe writing. The chapter intros read like in-game journals for which I'd happily cross Skyrim, searching for each installment on some great quest haha. I've said this before, but I'd love more of those in universe short stories which you guys wrote and narrated, such as the one where the adventurers delve into the dwarven ruin. That type of content seems evergreen to me! Cheers, brotha!
One way I give personality to my characters when roleplaying in Skyrim is I imagine my character saying something similar but not the same as the speech option says. Like imaging my character saying "what do you sell here? May I have a look" instead of saying "what have you got for sale"
As Sulan Dres discovered the word wall in the forsaken Crypt, I imagined him assuming wrongly that - unfamiliar with the strange ways of the Nords - he had been 'marked for death' by some ancient magical writ of the Morag Tong for trespassing in a family tomb, and spending the next week looking over his shoulder.
As someone who main dark elf Oc is a House Dres member , I'm looking forward to this I can see him helping the thieves guild and destroying the dark brotherhood, since the morag tong consider the heretics
NO WAY! First Askeladd and now THIS GUY! You guys really know how to spoil your fans with Skyrim content! I hope this is just as successful as the Tale of Askeladd

I've never encountered any problems with the quest blood on ice. But your problem probably stems from the fact that you didn't explore the house enough. More specifically the fact that you didn't read any of the pamphlets on the shelf or find the Necromancers amulet
34:22 I noticed here that if you aren’t in eyesight when you cast the spell, and they hear you, but you move away from the spot where they heard you/the spot where you cast the spell then you become stealth again like they can’t detect you or they don’t know where you are. Cuz the first draugr couldn’t see you, but the second Draugr who was in the room the second time you cast it knew exactly where you were.
I'm so excited for this one! Can't wait to see where the story goes! In regards to the cold thing... There would be the Pre talos skyrim, being a jungle basically. And then even ignoring that, as you mentioned, Atmora, north of skyrim, is a frozen deathland. Perhaps whatever caused Atmora to freeze over as it did, is just potent enough to influence skyrim aswell. Or maybe it is something that very slowly is starting to grow in strenght, and unless (somehow) stopped, at some point down the timeline might threaten to freeze over all of Nirn, as it dis with Atmora.

Ok, I don’t know if you figured it out in the video since I’m only at 2:15:00 but, for “blood on the ice” you need to get the amulet and the small notes you find in the home, then you speak with the steward, go see Callisto for the amulet then viola for the note with the notebook of “The Butcher”. Then you got two options: A) Go see the Steward and arrest the court mage which will lead to someone else getting killed and you having to resume your investigation, B) going straight to the court mage and stop another murder from happening.
What's interesting about the Skyrim "climate change" is the stories of Atmoran settlers coming down from a place that became way colder. The timeline in Elder Scrolls is 1000s of years. So basically, in Skyrim, we are going back the equivalent of Summerian city states and old kingdom Egypt. The untimed era pre first age brings us back to the Ice Age, wolly mammoth and Neanderthals. Tge greening of the Sarah happened thousands of years ago, and yet Berber tribes don't recall "distant green summers" in North Africathe way Kodlak does for Skyrim. No one sings about when we chased wolly mammoths or lived in caves. Kodiak makes it seem like climate changed in his lifeltime, when the changes occurred before the oldest elf alive was born. So they're REALLY living in the past. Let it go Nords, Let it Go.
