Extra time in prep definitely makes the welding easier. Thanks for the comment!

Yes indeed, Ivan's little room will be warm and cozy for our freezing winter nights very soon. And I LOVE that big picture window he chose on the west end. 🥰🥰🥰

Anything worth doing is worth doing right......
Great install job on that door, those welds are all your gonna need out there, that's about the level my welds are on these days, and i'm pretty sure mine will never be looking like rolled dimes on any of my future welds like a lot of my buddies seem to pull off....haha
Side Note: We built our main youtube channel solely for family to tag along with the process however surprisingly have over 1000 subscribers now and building a couple more channels, your content will be popular my advice from trial and error due to not really putting a lot of effort into the details of our videos and channel from the start would be to add more details in your description of what your doing and tools and materials you are using, it tends to attract more fresh viewers searches etc.....
    Keep on keeping on.......

Thanks for the kind words and wise tips.
My previous channel was about as low effort as they come, hehe.
Now that we have something more meaningful to share, it certainly behooves us to raise the production quality and explain more. Sometimes it's a challenge to coordinate filming, explaining, and doing. Cheers and thanks for your input! We really appreciate it.

@@1millionpumpkins542 I just shoot from the hip and ramble a lot on our channels...haha
Now that we hit 1000 subscribers i see our videos popping up more often on peoples feed or the feed our other channels so i think the description will continue to help with people searching topics.

The window and door installations are a great place to start if you liked my Stitching idea door the container build out content.
Another fun piece of content if doing a walkaround of the nucleus of the homestead; outside walkarounds of the various buildings, and their purposes, a look at the various animal residents and their pens, your various gardens and there distinct purposes, different views of the open range N-E-S-W where you head out with the ladies for their wild forage walks and where you come back - those kinds of things that you might learn from a detailed map+ if there was one. 😉

      Excellent suggestions as usual!
The guys seem to be camera-shy and reluctant to star in content about their work. They have done some pretty cool things to the container apartment but I only have oddball snippets and still frames. We will see if the cold season will make them more eager to produce content. It's our best performing topic, this shipping container stuff. Last i looked, one little video has like 11k views. They also have done solar power and diesel heater stuff that I wish we could post.
I can do a walkabout for you though. Things look kind of drab and dusty but that's valuable to see as well as monsoon greens.
      Have a great day 😀

@@1millionpumpkins542 Interesting to know that the container gets over the top high views. If you could put the container, solar and diesel heater together and just have Matt narrate - that will work. AFter about 30 seconds of watching a repetitive activity - content goes stale pretty fast. So do you think perhaps running the camera and letting Matt talk / point / etc would make it more tolerable?😉
I like the "Transition to winter on the high plains" angle
I'm not trying to make work for you - just help you grow your subscribers - presuming that is something you'd like to do. 👍
Loose Natural hit 1000 subscribers and has gotten a lot of additional exposure as a result.

@stevejohnstonbaugh9171 thanks, I don't see you pressuring for more work, just being helpful.
      I checked views again. 1-23-22 has 18.5k, and 1-26-23 has 12.8k!
You're not the only one seeking more footage from the guys' projects, so does the family, lol!
Part of the problem is that I don't do editing. Matt does, but finds it quite a bore. I think they call getting them to perform for us "cat herding" lol!
We will see how things roll.
As far as developing the channel, we didn't really expect much from yt. In order to monetize, they require our location and phone number. I enjoy the dopamine from views and likes, but the conversations like this one mean the most for me....
Maybe that will evolve as time goes on. 🤔
If I put more effort in at the desktop rather than purely using my phone, the quality would certainly improve. Thanks for putting up with the shitposting level I operate on! 🙃🙃🙃

      @stevejohnstonbaugh9171 Рік тому +1

@@1millionpumpkins542 I know all about cat herding! Believe me 😅 Two thoughts:
Do you have any interest in learning how to edit? I'll bet you'd be really good at it as an artist.
Just shoot the content live and post it raw.
Buy a decent wind cancelling microphone and use your phone. I don't think the quality of the production should be a barrier to new content. Your content has qualities that others with the best equipment don't have (they're boring). You've got your unique setting in the high plains, your care for your animals (and quite a menagerie it is), your sincerity and soulfulness and your poetic use of the english language.
As to the location and phone number; well - there is a reason why you live off the grid. So I appreciate the reluctance. From the other perspective - what is Google going to do with that information? Sell it to a telemarketer??? 🤣
My daughter (the PhD) works for GOOGLE in Seattle. So I can tell you from almost first hand experience that the place is locked up tighter than a drum. She had to sign a VERY long non-disclosure agreement on penalty of termination for even taking a picture in the cafeteria of the building!
Realistically from my perspective; One - they want to know where to send the check and two; If you go all Rambo on YT someday and the FBI comes calling- they have to know where you reported you lived. Of course, it's a highly personal decision, But I'd like to know you are making a buck or two because you deserve it! And Gary is counting on new hoses this spring. 😉
      Some food for rumination👍

As it turns out, the cutting wheel is better since a Sawzall has teeth that would snag on the thin metal. Thanks for asking!
