EA's basically eliminated skill gaps because there's only so many ways that plays will turn out in a game now. The way the ai's are now are how the game is played is based off a set of programmed instructions which is why the ai are absolutely garbage at reacting to real time events and playing like real life people. I can't even play NHL for more then an hour because I start to feel like I'm in a simulator that makes up the outcome of the game for me. It's ridiculous, i can be all over someone, and then my ai will slash a guy 5 times in a row (to the point where you know that you couldn't avoid it), and then the game will open up every possible scoring opportunity for my opponent. During these moments, sometimes I can't even choose the right players to be and my ai will just shut down completely and go mute in the play. I just find it annoying how easy EA's making it to see their flaws now, I've been playing NHL 18 long enough to know exactly how things are going to go down every time.Sorry got carried away in frustration, but all people do now is find out how to abuse the games flaws in the best way to score goals. To me, the new "Skill Gap" in this game doesn't have alot to do with your overall skill and knowledge about hockey, its basically about which people realize that this is just a video game and that there are certain ways of abusing it physics to get wins. An example is how your ai will shut down and take stupid penalties automatically if someone gets a near one minute of uninterrupted time on attack on you. I've played people who just puck rage until my ai breaks down. At this point, these people aren't even playing me, i'm just another guy along for the ride. Anyways, I think this game is completely bullshit, I liked it and all it's new dekes at first, but it only took me a month or two to start hating it by the day. To me the overall game isn't even a finished product, I might wait until 2025 to see if theres something worth my $90 by then.

Your team skates super fast. And it's not because you have fast skaters. I do too but how come certain gamers seem to blow me out of the water with speed when I have faster player's then they do? I feel I might be doing something wrong

The manufactures put in a program so average players get alot of breaks. Im one of the top players on 16,17, and 18. But go less than 50% wins on 1 on 1 versus mode. 8-10 cross crese perfect passes that wont connect. Stats: 45 shots to opponents 11/ Time of possesion %85 percent. YET they win in OT 2-1 with a bs goal. OVER AND OVER AGAIN. All of you are very lucky they put this in the game or (zeugirdor22) would destroy all of you. Including you bacon. if your not modded of course
I hate how some ppl only go for those far side or short side snipes, it’s not always easy to defend against cause the AI still don’t know how to play positionally properly and allow ppl to get into those spots and get the snipe off every time, no goalie can stop them when the shot is let loose from certain spots and that’s what makes me wanna break my controller time to time, I almost lost a game I was up 7-3 because the opponent got 2 last minute goals in the 3rd from the same shot in the same spot, long story short NHL is still a broken game and will never be better then other sport games out by EA, they don’t pay enough attn to nhl for it to be a fair yet enjoyable game 👎🏼 EA FIX UR F’n game it’s ridiculous 🤦🏼♂️
Sometimes easier said then done, all my players are 91+ with 2 legends (Bure&M.St.L) some games my team plays the game feels normal speed and it’s always a tight back n forth game, but other times it’s like the players are tired and I get beat to pucks in the corners by players on the opposite team with 88 speed that are skating faster then my 93Gaudreau with 99 speed, and it’s games like those that frustrate me to hell cause I know I can beat the opponent but my players are playing like I got all 82ovr players, it’s not my connection cause I’m not using Wifi, I got my PS4 connected via Ethernet cable and my DL Mb/sec fluctuates from 190-240Mb/sec so it always got a good connection (I have Fibre-Optic Internet) That being said,what causes my players to revert to playing like minor league players losing battles in the corners, losing races to the puck wherever it becomes loose, skating and losing the puck by being poked from 5’ away from said player with puck, it feels like the algorithm is somehow incomplete or it’s missing lines of code or whatever makes the game work the way it does, I don’t have a clue I’m just guessing but either way the game still needs to be fixed so it’s more consistent on a more regular basis cause for me it still feels like an up n down advantage game where each game one opponent is given somewhat of an advantage over the other player, JS I’ll play anyone who wants to play, I’m not saying I’m the best cause I definitely ain’t but it’d be nice to have consistency from game to game so everyone has the same chances to win, so if you suck them you suck n will lose more until you learn the game better and improve your skills as opposed to EA giving slight advantages over the better player so they don’t get murdered 25-0, imagine if they did that in a COD game, ppl would go nuts and cause an uproar, look what happened when SWBF was released, they had to change shit up to make it suit the needs of the many, yet they won’t do that for us NHL fans who spend millions on their game and even more in the HUT store throughout the year 🤦🏼♂️😵💥🤛🏼🤷🏼♂️

I was destroying 3 opponents in a row, then started fourth game, I was destroying him durring first period like previous players, then I created party durring first intermission to talk with my friend and the game became slower but his players were the same speed and I started to have troubles with him which was ridiculous. I won by one goal while I could score 5 in the first. I had that much of chances. Just because the party on ps4 took a bit of my download speed connections.
