Love you guys. Hope to get an order for some digital patterns soon. Must sell more eggs first lol Our 6 chicks last year turned into 15 and now we are up to 20 this year. Homesteading is what is saving our little family and I am so grateful I started us on that path end of 2018. Supporting small business is amazing, and by supporting you, I support a friend, Allison.
Dames a la Mode thanks! They’ll be a constant in my videos for quite a while-until they move outside to the coop that I haven’t built yet! Maybe I’ll do a video on building a chicken coop from scrap wood and chicken wire with no hardware store runs
I'll be watching! I hope your Little Women content nets you a hundred thousand subscribers :) if you do decide to monetise your channel, we'll totally watch whatever thing pops up to help out.
I totally feel you on being spoiled when it comes to the setup of you sewing room. I'm currently continuing my apprenticeship from home so I neither have an industrial sewing machine nore a proper ironing station and it drives me insane 😅
I really liked your discussion on how this impacts you as a small business owner. I've been trying to explain to some of the people I know that we need to look at the bigger picture besides helping to flatten the curve. Best of luck getting this all straightened out. Someday I'm sure I will be able to buy something from your company! In the meantime, I'll keep watching your vlogs and drooling over your products!
Thank you! It's not the easiest stuff to talk about publicly, but I also think it's important to do. Hard to find a balance between "real talk" and endless optimism.
For raising the banquet table to an ergonomic cutting height, could you use stackable bed lifts? I have some that look like plastic cones and slightly pricier ones that are stackable wooden blocks. They’re a bit inconvenient to constantly take off and put on, but it’s easier than buying or fitting in a second table. But if you’re batching then you might not have to constantly add and remove the blocks for awhile :)
Lucy's Corsetry I used to have those and do exactly that. I think we’re just going to move my smaller cutting table here. I’m anticipating being in this space for...a long time.
Awesome and candid video. I'm dead worried about all of the small businesses in our hood. For most, the owners are still front and center so everyone gets to know and love them. It's good to hear that Redthreaded is staying in it because you stuck to a solid pricing strategy and it is so cool that other businesses hear you advocate the same for them. PS I know it's the Shed Series, which is awesome, but the Oh, Shit Series is pretty great, too. Maybe for when business picks up again and you are going crazy trying to keep up?
Girlfriend!!! Sewing and selling masks (no matter what you think of them ) is how you can make money !!! A friend of mine who owns a business called Party Corner Costumes in Guelph Ontario Canada, has been getting orders for masks faster then she can sew them. And they are quick to make. Sells them for $15CAN each. LOTS of Bulk Orders!!! Assembly line style them out the door and money goes in your wallet!!
Didn’t know you did digital patterns! I’ll be right over to your site. If I make a corset from your patterns is there a hashtag you prefer on Instagram?
Joel Palmer I am sure that is incredibly difficult too! I am sorry I left teachers out of my video. I am very aware that I have it “good” compared to a lot of people and am grateful for that.
Firstly UA-cam really doesn't like swearing and this could leed to a video being demonetized. Secondly I saw the other day someone said to use PVC pipe to raise a folding tables legs, cut at the length you want and stick the table legs in. I dont know how well that would work for one that has the to legs connected by a bar though.
XDonlyone we’re going to move my cutting table up from the studio. I’m sorry if my swearing is offensive, it’s been a difficult time for a lot of business owners. Perhaps someday our UA-cam will get to a point where monetization is a possibility; for now, that remains a distant pipe dream. Thank you for your concern.
@@RedthreadedCorsets It was not offensive to me, but I saw on you talking about monetization on Instagram and I didn't want you to get on trouble. I know making any money on UA-cam is tricky/lots of hard work/luck, but kept on going.
You had me at the shed sewing, but the chicks truly stole my heart!!
Was charmed by you being cute and then you brought out the chicks. I made a little sewing nook in my appartment - loving it so far!

Ok, hands up - how many of you watching went, "do do do do do," when she said, "Here comes the sun,"...?
Be honest!
This is a great video, and made even better by the wonderful soundtrack of little peeps!

Very smart planning
Thank you! This totally brightened my day. Especially meeting the chicks.
Oh shiz ya'll in Colorado? Hello from down Durango ways!

I loved meeting the chicks! Glad to hear what’s going on, and I’ll be following!
Thank you!
I think it's important that small business owners make videos like this with "real talk" about how this pandemic is affecting them.

Oh, wow! You have sun! ...Sequesterd Stories?
Do you have bed risers or bricks that you could raise the table with?

Kayla Sews Wonders a lot of folks use #redthreadedpatterns we’ve sold digital patterns on Etsy for years :)
What about those of us who are attempting to teach 80 or students from home?

XDonlyone that comment was meant more for the larger scale youtubers who *do* rely on monetization for income
@@RedthreadedCorsets Sorry about my misunderstanding. :)
