- Thank you for all your help picking this song! Also, I may say the word "beautiful" about 100 times in this video because of how beautiful the song is.
ATEEZ is a very emotion-provoking group when you dig into their discography as a whole. Hongjoong and Mingi, the two rappers, write much of their own lyrics for their raps alongside their production team and it’s really so raw and beautiful the things they create. The ending melody is a callback to the song and music video Wave and hearing it makes me tear up. They’ve had a long journey together.
I love how emotion-provoking the music is even without me knowing a lot about them. That shows how amazing they are! I'll add Wave to my watch/react list
@@kiwimosier If you’re a fan of stories/story-line content I actually heavily recommend going in release order!! There’s a couple of lists out there but essentially it’s the treasure series, the fever series, and then the World Series. Chronologically/time-order wise is different but this way you also get to see the way they grew as time went on ☺️

@@kiwimosier Also there’s a callback to the beginning of the Fever album series since the album Turbulence is on is the end of the Fever series. In this Hongjoong says “passion young fever” and that’s a callback to that same line that Hongjoong also says in the song they have called Fever that is on their album Fever part 1.

I followed your Halazia reaction and now I'm here again, you gained another subscriber. ❤ You speak so kindly and sincerely. Thank you for allowing yourself to give our pirates a chance, I'm sure you'll be even more surprised by each one of them, not just for the songs, but also for the incredible human beings they are. I highly recommend watching Turbulence Band Live later on your own. on It's Live channel, there are two performances, watch both, I'm sure you'll love this song even more. Next month it will be 1 year since I met the group and since then I don't regret it, I've always seen many speaking well of the group, and San and Hongjoong always appeared in my feed, which ended up making me more curious, because they looked intimidating, which which surprised me when I went to dig deeper into the personalities of the members and they are completely the opposite of what I imagined. And never forget, Ateez live performances are always 100% better than your dance practice, trust me. When people say that they are the best performers of the 4th gen, it's not a joke, it's scary how strong their stage presence is. Sorry for the long comment, I get a little excited when I talk about them. 😅

I heard this live a month ago during their tour. I teared up there are just amazing live! They have such an amazing discography and the members themselves are just so amazing and talented. ATINY love and respect them so much. If you want another beautiful song and moment check out Star 117 as well as the "221202 ATEEZ 에이티즈 - Star 1117 Project in Hamilton/Toronto" from last month during their last stop in their world tour. I was honoured to be there that night and I cried during this moment - as did the members

I was there too!! OMG it was the best night, they cried, I cried, everyone cried. Hearing them live is a whole new level, I mean you know they are good but until you hear them live, you really don't understand how good they are.

Yes the first guy is indeed Yeosang, good job at getting him right after only one song that you have listened from them. Turbulence is such a special song and it's definitely a complete shift from Halazia but that's the good thing about Ateez...they are versatile but manage to be the best at everything they do, whether it's a hype song or a ballad. A quick suggestion, watch the live band version of Turbulence too, you won't regret it trust me :)

Nearly all of Ateez songs are part of their storyline. This one included. Their complete story is told through Music videos, story video and intro trailers, and “journals” that come with physical albums and tell the story of that episode. Each album/EP is titled with a chapter name and an episode name and number. As you read the lyrics of each song in order it provides a soundtrack to the story. It’s complicated, but the abbreviated version is that Ateez are pirates that can travel between dimensions and through time using a mysterious hour glass that was given to their leader Hongjoong (the first guy you said was beautiful) in one of the first trailer videos. On their travels they look for treasure, explore different worlds, have adventures, and fight against these guys with no faces, sometimes with the help of Halateez. Halateez is the Ateez members but from a different timeline/dimension. They are distinguished from Ateez by the hats they wear (like the one the scare crow was wearing in Halazia) and sometimes by masks. Halazia is set in the dystopian world that Ateez find themselves in in the current chapter, where they are fighting against a totalitarian government that brainwashes emotion out of their people to better control them. Turbulence comes at an earlier part of the story after their hour glass had been broken at the end of the previous chapter and they were at a loss as to what to do next. A situation that was resolved in the music videos for The Real, and Don’t Stop.
Judging from what Seonghwa said, if you wanted to fit Turbulence into their storyline it would be at the very beginning, Diary Film time. Don't Stop features Halateez though. How do you figure The Real fits their storyline? It's usually considered a separate AU.

The first guy is indeed yeosang. The other person you were wondering he the leader/captain of the group his name is hongjoong. If you liked this song I would recommend "star 1117" and "be with you." For more up beat songs I'd suggest "answer" "thanxx" and "fireworks (I'm the one)." I recommend you check their Immortal song performances- they won 3 times making them the group with the most Immortal song wins! Their Kingdom performances are a must as well as award performances, KCON, etc.
Also fun fact: 4 of the members debuted as actors in a drama called Imitation (drama about the lives of Kpop idols and the industry) - Yunho is the second lead :))

Turbulence is a beautiful, moving song. The first time I heard it, I actually cried. It was just such a needed song at that particular time in my life and it felt so...healing? It's always wonderful when a song can bring comfort and is relatable, you know?
My other favorite song from them is a ballad called Be With You. Again, gorgeous vocals and incredibly beautiful, comforting lyrics.
Thanks again for checking into Ateez. It will be fun to watch as you discover more of their music. I can't emphasize enough how wide and varied their range is musically, but I will not spoil it for you. Part of the fun of digging into a group is discovering that for yourself.

Seriously, though. Only two reactions in, and I already love her personality. It's always such a pleasure to find reactors that give off a positive vibe and genuinely seem to be interested in who they're reacting to.
And I couldn't agree with you more about Be With You. First time I heard it, I was busy with something at home, and had found a random Ateez playlist to have on in the background. I was still getting to know them, so there were still several songs I wasn't familiar with. Since I was preoccupied, I wasn't paying much attention to the music, but when Be With You came on, it literally stopped me in my tracks and took my full attention. The music, the melody and their voices were just breathtaking. It was so heart-wrenchingly beautiful and I fell in love with it instantly (which I don't often do). I made a mental note to look it up when I finished what I was doing. After reading the lyrics, I got to where I couldn't listen to it without crying. Every. Single. Time. As soon as the music would start, my throat would get tight and I'd be blinking double time trying to prevent the tears. Never worked.
I'm finally able to listen without the tearstorm (unless I'm already emotional), and even though I've discovered so many more Ateez songs since then, it still remains one of my favorites. Every aspect of it is perfect. (It's very similar to how I felt after hearing Your Eyes Tell (BTS), and my eternal love for that song)

Hope you can continue to enjoy the journey together with our Ateez. Turbulence is such a pure jewel, seriously, gives me chills everytime I listen to it. The lyrics are so intense, at the beginning breaks your heart but at the end you can feel all the confort and the hope, with the sun rising to light the city again... The verse "Wings are broken and swept away, I'm scared" torns me apart every single time, cause Mingi write Turbulence with HongJoong after his 8 months hiatus due to psychological anxiety. It was so difficult for him and for the other members too, I always listen to Turbulence like a ray of light at the end of their dark tunnel, and it was just an amazing way to see and feel the light again, for them and for us Atiny too.
If i can suggest a guide, my favourite one is The Ultimate Guide to Ateez by ofallthekennys: yes, it's a bit long and it's 9 months old, but it's the best imo.

what makes me cry the hardest about this song is that they used the same melody from "wave", which is a very poppy song for atiny. the lyrics are "there are no troubles" in "wave", so seeing the melody of "wave" in this song of worry and anxiety reminds me to trust in myself. the ending of all of them singing has gotta be my favorite part, and it makes me cry everytime i hear it. i was tearing up so bad during this video

It hurts more when you realize that Hongjoong (the man with black hair who you thought was beautiful) and Mingi (the other rapper with a deep voice) write ALL their verses. so everything you read from them is coming from their heart! they write ALL their verses and ALL of ateez's songs. every single one, literally.

I love this song. It gave me goosebumps the first time I listened without the lyrics.
One thing I love about Ateez is their lyrics are often very powerful. They rarely write a song that’s just fluffy even if it sounds fluffy.
Ateez vocals-all of them can sing and they all have different vocal colors which allows for versatility.
They sing all performances live and have from debut (some exceptions-usually where they were told they couldn’t).
The attractive guy with the paper plane is Hongjoong-he is a rapper, lyricist and producer. He is the captain (leader) and definitely is beautiful.

I literally weep through this song every time I listen to it, because it is so relevant to where I currently am in life. I relate so much to "I'm already overwhelmed to be myself, barely. Is anyone listening? Can someone just embrace me?"
I totally felt that part too! Life is so overwhelming and hard, but it's comforting to know ATEEZ feel the same way. I'm sending a giant hug your way!
That's the thing with Ateez, no matter what the emotions in a song are, sad, happy, cocky, uplifting, angsty, they always feel genuine, especially in live performances, probably because the songs are always relevant to them in some way, inspired and co-written by them. Once you get to know them off-stage you'll see that they're incredibly kind-hearted, soft, fun, honest and open people.
As for their songs you'll be listening to (very impressive list, I'm in awe of your notebook), the first series of albums is Treasure and it mostly establishes their concept and worldbuilding. There are a lot of songs about starting the journey and searching for the (metaphorical) treasure, lots of seafaring metaphors because of their pirate concept, lyrics about conquering obstacles, about friendship and togetherness (between the members but also them and us - you'll see that some songs can be interpreted on at least three different levels), building up to an anthemic finale. I recommend watching Intro: Long Journey first, it's like a micro-prologue.
The second series is Zero: Fever, and its main theme is youth and growing up - their storyline goes back to day zero (there's a longer prologue video called Diary Film, it's a must-view if you want to follow their story) and then the story progresses including some events we saw in the Treasure MVs, specifically Say My Name and Answer, and leads up to the current series, The World, staring with EP.1 Movement (which has two trailers and a teaser, very useful for understanding the context and worldbuilding). If you're interested in it, some events are described or explained in the text included in Fever and The World album booklets, they're available to read on our fandom sites.

Thank you so much for reacting to Ateez and i will like to welcome you onboard the ship! Imo the best way to enjoy the ateez journey is to read the lyrics as it sort of set the them of the different series.
For the first series, we have the treasure series. For me, this series talks not only about Ateez’s journey to find their treasure but also everyone’s journey in finding that treasure. What the treasure is up to your own interpretation be it friendship or love or finding your own self. There will be ups and down throughout the journey but you will find your way.
For fever series, it touches on the topic of youth. The journey of being a youth and what we feel throughout this journey as you can see through Turbulence. Through this series, we learn that it’s okay not to be okay, we’re not alone and also to love ourselves. Personally it’s my fav series as i can really relate to alot of the message they are sending.
For the World series, it’s a new series that we’re currently going through but so far it’s giving me the message of rising up and being able to break through any obstacle.
Also for Turbulence, the message that their producer and Ateez wants to give is not to sort of comfort us in saying it’s okay but to find comfort in knowing that we’re not alone in this journey.

I'm going to throw you a curveball in what to react to because ateez have a such diversity in their discography there's a little bit of everything though their lyrics are always relatable and beautiful in even their more hard hitting songs, I'm going to recommend "The real" which was released at the same time as Turbulence, and also Deja vu and/or Eternal Sunshine.

This list pretty much also let's you follow the lore bit by bit aside from going in order of their release. ATEEZ has a habit of doing Double Title Tracks, it's like one side portrays a story and the other portrays a parallel to that story. Hi there, I just found you through your Halazia reaction, and I have to say, I am so happy that ATEEZ's lyrics are so touching to you. They're such a special group, and a lot of their lyrics are based off of their own feelings and experiences. In fact, ATEEZ's name was kind of a mission statement about their intent. ATEEZ stands for ATEEnagerZ, which means that they were (at the start) a group of teens that wanted to express the full breadth of experiences, from A to Z. As such, they've always had very personal, touching songs, even from the very start.
I don't know if you're open to reacting to lyrics videos, but if you are, they have some truly phenomenal b-sides. Their song Fever is one of my favorite songs ever, ATEEZ or no, and songs like Be With You, My Way, and Not Too Late (and a lot more) are incredibly personal and emotional. Hongjoong, their leader (and the man you thought was beautiful here) composes a lot, and his song Sunrise is one I would recommend for its lyrival emotion. It was written based on his old diary entries from his trainee days, when he was the only trainee at KQ, and feeling alone, wondering if this would all be worth it. And if you wanted a more upbeat song that is still personal, their song Thank U was also written by Hongjoong to Seonghwa, and is a very wholesome and touching letter to him for always being there as a friend.
ATEEZ really have so so much to give, and I really hope they continue to surprise and delight you. I look forward to seeing more!

@@kiwimosier I love Celebrate. It's fun and puts a smile on my face. And Jongho takes us to church! Speaking of encouraging songs, one of my faves of theirs is One Day at a Time. It's comforting and feels like a warm hug after a rough day (imo). My favorite verse in the song is when San sings, "If you think you're trapped, you're in that box you built yourself, I'll help you break it." The entire song is in English, but I listened to it and sang along with it an embarrassing number of times before I even realized that. In my own little clueless world where it never even occurred to me to wonder why I could understand and sing along with the entire song. But it's probably because I genuinely enjoy and **feel** their music, whether I know what they're saying or not. They're so good at conveying their message(s) and telling a story through their powerful vocals, choreography, facial expressions and music. I'm just grateful that I found them. Aaaaaand, here's the end of this novel.......

'Turbulence' is such a beautiful song, I think it's a song, especially a lot of young people today can relate to.
The lyrics is very much the core of their lore and their message ❤️
That said, this song and MV is actually a good start, because it's like a prequel to their storyline. So I actually recommend continuing listen to and reacting to songs and MV's from their 'FEVER' album series.
ATEEZ discography is sorted into different album series, which you could call chapters in their story.
The 'TREASURE' series is their first releases, with their debut songs 'Pirate king' and 'Treasure', HOWEVER, cannonly with their story, the 'FEVER' series, comes first.
The leader HONGJOONG, (the one that caught your eye in this mv), explains it a bit, in an interview they have with Sunmi.
'Turbulence' is part of the 'FEVER' series, which the story of eight boys, who becomes friends. It tells about their struggles to find and be themselves. They each have their own story/background and things they struggle with.
I'll actually recommend, for the next view, to watch ZERO: FEVER part. 1 'Diary film'. It's a 16min long video and not an MV, however it tells the beginning and background story of ATEEZ's story and it's really beautiful and touching. Their acting is so good 😳

Omg, as soon as you showed your diary qhere you wrote all the suggestions down, I got jealous. As a person who has really bad handwriting, your way of noting down suggestions and handwriting is so neat. I could only wish.
I'll be the lone dissenter here and say that the one thing I don't like about guides is that they can be very spoiler-y. That's fine in general, as people are watching the guides to learn more about the group, including the music. But for a reactor, it can expose them to stuff too early and potentially take away from the intended impact or emotion or surprise of certain moments. I'm not sure which guide or guides I'm thinking of regarding Ateez, but I know some of them spoil some very big moments. And as viewers, we live for those moments, lol. The excitement and anticipation of knowing what's coming and waiting to see how the reactor is going to respond is so much fun. So......there's that. 🤷♀

Who are your biases in BTS and skz?
My BTS bias is Suga and I've had a hard time finding just one bias for SKZ. Haha. Maybe Felix? Who are your bias-es?
@@kiwimosier in BTS also Suga! In skz, I changed bias a bit in the beginning lol until I settled with Lee Know. For Ateez.. Seonghwa was the one who brought me to them haha and now I'd say my bias line is Seonghwa, Hongjoong and San (also known as the demon line!) but Yunho and Yeosang are strong contenders hehe I really hope you'll get to love them too.
