Just a small note on his supers for those unaware: His Tri-beam and Neo Tri-beam deal self damage, disallowing you from doing more shots of Neo Tri-beam if you get lowered to 1 health by these. A reply has kindly informed me you can still do his level 2.
However, this self damage is reduced by both sparking, and limit break, and with both active you take no self damage from his level 1 and 2, (I think you still take damage from his level 3 or its additional shots; but I could be wrong.)
Also, don't do Chiaotzu Super on a sparking opponent unless you are sure it will kill bc the time before detonation and the mourning animation take so long sparking can usually mess you up and regain about 1k health through out.
The level 2 does NOT cost any extra health. This is FALSE. As long as you have the extra bar you can do the level 2. Also while in spark AND LB, the level 3 also costs no health, but each follow-up DOES

Been telling some people that tien might be the best anchor in dbfz since the season 4 patch notes but nobody cared that much about tien and now its good to see that some people are woke how strong tien is
I don’t think he’s even top 5 anchor in the game over Z Broly 21 Janemba Vegito or Baseku

Lmao why is there a full wall of text from the editor at 13:37? The most “erm ackshually” editor I’ve ever witnessed on yt. I am only interested in Cloud’s thoughts and opinions, constant text popping up is distracting. It’s not even worth reading because Cloud says almost the same thing less than a minute later, just in a more negative light. If you think your thoughts and opinions are so important why don’t you start your own channel? Either Cloud doesn’t watch all of these and doesn’t know the extent of your detracting edits, or he doesn’t have the backbone to tell you to stop.

I used to play Tohan/Vegito/Tien (variant of Yasha's old team)and the meter build + super damage with extra meter dump options was nonsense. I just got really tired of Tohan's stubby normals and pressure.
I think Tien is not as commonly used because he seems like a "hard" anchor (one who isn't as strong on point/mid as alternatives but excels when he's your last man standing) when Z Broly and 21 exist, both of whom arguably are more flexible if they have to come out early (21 especially). Also the European scene plays more "soft" anchor teams who use the third spot for a great assist, even if the character isn't a traditional anchor, and/or plan to swap into the third spot to run their gameplan after corner carry/winning neutral. Also Tien doesn't have ignorant normals like the fusions rn
I still play him anchor tho, he's super solid, hella fun.

When I play tien I typically don’t use chaotzu lvl 3, except when my opponent is in the air with no meter, practically a Guarantee

Yesterday he talked about a weak character now he’s talking about the actual best character in the game according to an EVO CHAMPION I mean u can’t hit tien out of his command grab but broly after one hit full combo and broly still takes damage it’s just unfair buff broly…
Broly's lariat is minus. Tien volley ball fist is -5. He's not Mini Me Broly, he is Mr. Steal your princess Trunk at this point.

then yeah, it’s actually much preferable you just take the chop. Using chaotsu is a resource gone for only 50% hp, and neo tri beam will spend a lot of bar and resources for damage comparable to just getting 2m I’d rather get damaged the same amount but they spend almost all their bars for it. The 2m will legitimately get you the same damage as a full neo tri beam for even less bar.
With broly cmd grab instead of 5LL comparison, I see what you mean. But it’s not comparable because ex grab on grab on broly can get a full combo right after (correct me if I’m wrong on that), Tien chop instantly puts you in knockdown so unless you get and air chop there is no combo to be had afterwards. In broly’s case, neither option matters, ex grab and 5LL will still result in massive damage and a full combo if there are decent assists, at least a bar for vanish, and/or sparking and limit break. In tien case the chop is heavily dependent on how much bar he has. even more so than broly since tien can only combo chop into supers after if the opponent is near the ground. If tien has no bar he isn’t going to get anymore damage.
One last difference is that tien was only in sparking for the 2m combo whilst tien in the chop combo was sparking AND limitbreak. So that proves getting hit with a 2m by tien is much more damaging than a chop into supers.
And the limit break 2m combo would have straight up ToD if he did level 3 instead.
So yes, it is better to take the chop especially if tien is low on bar. As for broly, don’t get hit in general.
Excellent explanation, as a Tien main myself I'd take landing a 2M in LB over landing an EX chop in nearly any situation. The return is just way too high compared to chop, which is best used when you either just want to force another knockdown, or can kill off of it with raw supers
I just wish he had his cell saga outfit. It’s so much cooler. His super outfit is so lame and I feel like way more people would play him if he wasn’t wearing his lame ass super outfit

So we know tien is high tier for sure with all the good stuff he has but the real wuestion is Cloud what do you think as far as placement? He does beat everything broly does with invul armor. And his armor on medium volly ball even goes through beams. I say hes in the top 15 for sure. What are your thoughts?

Everyone so quick to call Tien B trash, then proceed to use it in neutral instead of in complex air combos where it actually shines. And also ignoring the fact that Tien is usually run anchor, which means if you're using Chiaoutzu, it's usually gonna be near the end of the match/you have no assist anyways
Tien main here, I always save chiaotzu for the end of the match not only for the insane damage you can stack onto the end of your combo, but for the great midscreen oki he gets.
An assist that's only usable in combo is trash brother. Especially nowadays when almost all assists are multi-purposed.
Even if we ignore all the top tier assists like Vegito A, Bardock B, etc. Typical assists now all have good blockstun for mixup, good hitstun for combos/conversion, and around the same speed of 25f startup. Tien B has god awful startup so it's awkward to use, zero tracking in neutral and only hits one specific spot on screen. It's trash and you're better off using Tien A or even C, which have more usage overall than purely a combo assist.
@@Snowyy201 I never once said it's ONLY usable in combos. Just because an assist isn't multi-purpose doesn't make it trash. Yes, a lot of assists have multiple uses, and are average at all of them. Some assists have specific strengths and weaknesses over others. Tien B has excellent blockstun AND hitstun compared to general assists. If it had the same startup as them it'd be busted. It's PERFECTLY OK for assists to excel in one or two areas in return for some other weakness. That's literally the entire point of giving every character 3 assists. It's called decision making. Some characters get tons of mileage out of Tien B(Zamasu, Vegito, and Gogeta Blue all come to mind), while others might not be able to utilize it's utility as well and will prefer A(Tohan is a good example).
His A assist is miles better

He's good on any team. But what does he do better than 21 or broly?
Also the chaiotzu level 3 is so bad. It will miss a crouched opponent, sometimes it misses a falling or dashing opponent, and it's not fast enough to catch a super dash.

Only time I use Chaiotzu lvl 3 is when I have 3 bars and I know normal neo tri beam lvl 3 won’t kill. I also use it when opponent is on their last character, has 0 bars, and I know they will jump round start 😂
