I liked this description which easily lets you guess that this wine is from Alsace, but I would like to get some comments on the character of the wine. The producer is known to use the biodynamic methods and the wines can not keep very clean varietals characteristics sometimes.

Thann, where I was born :) Rangen is the steepest vineyard in France, people need a safety harness to harvest

called it Gewürztraminer too but then again; gewurz is one of the easiest grapes to identify in a blind tasting

GW usually has lychee, rose and ginger spice characters. The acidity usually is lower than M+, more like M. Clos Saint Urbain is a great wine, but the descriptors given were way too conservative and lack accuracy.

If you nail the wine I'm not sure you can justifiably say that the descriptors lacked accuracy... And I'd hardly call rose a more typical Gewurz note than many of the ones given here.
