Thanks for keeping us updated on Brightline's progress man. It's certainly been nice to see the privately owned and operated passenger train come back to America. Hopefully this becomes a trend and there's a "rail revival" in America. But then again, I may be dreaming with that one.
Thanks for showing all of that area I have been hard at work putting this together to clean up and slope everything that is on the design I work for Southland Construction from Taylor Creek on up to St John I've been working hard to get this dirt and shape it and get it into place a lot of work is yet to be done great job on your videos really enjoy watching the work come together thanks
Is anyone at Brightline aware of your excellent coverage of the project? You should contact them and see if you can special access. I can't see how they wouldn't be impressed with your efforts so far.
It's interesting that the stretch before the ramp is gaining more development, including the new presence of signal foundations and bungalow just beyond the Orlando International Airport. My main concern about the Cocoa-Orlando Line is the environmental impact of construction, as I do not exactly like the fact they removed the shrubs between the line and 528. I hope they at least allow the borrow pits and the equipment staging sites to be reclaimed by nature. Great update video though.
The Brightline construction is the least of the environmental impact that area is going to have in the long run. There are plans (completely separate from Brightline) for almost all the vacant land along the entire route west of state road 520 to be developed into suburban sprawl over the next several decades... The shrubs were mostly invasive species too.
i wonder on that massive bridge at the beginning of the video.. how far down they had to drive pilings to support it. i might have designed pilings but also a wide foot print reinforced concrete deck to support the weight on the surface too.. also.. is brightline looking forward to sea level rise in the next 50 years of use of this line.. building it all above the rising sea level ..
You mentioned the space between the tracks and the right shoulder of the eastbound Beachline is reserved for future widening of the roadway. I noticed that the new Brightline bridge over the St. John's River appears to be going up directly next to the eastbound Beachline bridge. Is FDOT planning to shift the roadway lanes north when they expand or replace the existing bridges?
They have built temporary construction trestles right next to the 528 to work from. The distance between the 528 and the ramp before the river is maintained the across the entire river. Once construction is finished and they are removed, there should be room for a couple more lanes. I do realize that it is difficult to see all that in the video.
Brightline does not own the tracks from Cocoa, FL to Miami, FL. The decision would be the railroad's. (Florida East Coast Railway). With double stack cargo units involved, the catenary would need to accommodate such heights. While this could be done, certain pentagraphs would be need to made to keep the contacts stable. It can be done but likely won't be considered anytime soon.
i wonder if Brightline will order some cargo type high speed trains.. to carry produce and frozen products in and out of the state... reducing truck traffic and increasing speed.. perhaps even build a few train sets that carry dirt and gravel from out of state after proper sterilizing it.. for fill dirt and aggregate for various projects. might as well get the max value from the line build ..

@@RoamingRailfan Ahh, that's reassuring with Brightline's case then. Thank you.

I've seen some pilings on this project marked to over 120 feet.
Are you going to do any videos where Brightline is going to cross over 528 between I-95 and the Cocoa curve?

Is bright line gonna just be in Florida or they gonna extend ta other states like Amtrak?
There are already plans in the works for a train from Los Angeles to Las Vegas www.gobrightline.com/west-coast-expansion

Freight is prohibited on the new line due to terms in the lease of the right of way so that is not likely to happen
@@RoamingRailfan hopefully the vegas line won't have that ..
