I hated how they needed a special magnet to get the necklace off, but then when the other chick pulls the necklace out of the water everyone is like yep, must've just fallen off when she was running.
EPM 101 tbh same with me though, I looked at the poster and knew Anne Hathaway was in it, I also didn’t bother to really count. I’ve never seen the other moves either. I just saw who was in it and wanted to see it 🤷🏽♀️
Hannah Dyson I stopped fucking with an all women cast after what Ghostbusters (ooh snap I meant Shitbusters 2016) did. And Hollywood keeps fucking up these all women cast and never provides a good, yet hidden message.
'Twist' is a strong word for Anne joining the crew. I don't think it was meant to be a twist at all. The only 'twist' was that they also heisted all the jewels in the display room and not just the one around her neck. That increased the worth of this whole thing way more than just a damaged necklace would. They brought down the value of that necklace because it's name/history/design was also a huge part of its worth and they diluted its actual worth by selling by diamond, so I wondered how they were going to financially compensate for that. Anne's character did exactly the job it was meant to. She was a parody of the kind of high-ranked actresses who attend the Met Gala. It was more so a twist that she wasn't as dumb as she pretended to be, but that isn't even a central plot twist... bringing her into the crew just tidyed up the ex-boyfriend plotline so they could frame him.
I was about to say that too...video's main beef with Clooney not appearing, he helped make it. Also the investigator couldn't care less about who got the blame, he works for an insurance company not the law. He only wants to save the insurance company money, aka finding it or finding fraud. Lastly, I think they gave away the Anne Hathaway thing because the main twist is that they heisted more than the one necklace so they figured well whatever people gonna theorize about that anyway
I thought it was a fun movie, not very exciting or surprising but I thought the funny moments made it a worthy watch. Especially in a full theatre where everyone's laughing and enjoying themselves.
I seem to be one of the few that actually liked this movie lol, the cast was amazing and it was a fun blockbuster type of movie you watch on a night in with friends. My friends and I went to watch it in a packed theater and we all really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed the movie too. I didn't go into it looking at it like a "female reboot" I just went to the movie, watched it and didn't over analyze it. I didn't really care that the posters and the trailer "spoil" the big twist, because honestly we didn't know how it was going to play out. I think people just want something to hate on.
It's an enjoyable movie, quite fun, great cast, but damn they didnt pu much effort in the plot, all along I was like ok its too damn easy when is shit gonna happen and it never did and the plot twist is underwhelming

"Male hand-me-downs." That's a perfect term that even the people who support these kinds of movies can understand. Maybe they will finally realize that doing this is literally the worst thing you can do to a franchise. If you want to have an all female franchise that's fine, but just make something new.
Guybrush Threepwood It’s not creative or new but I doubt it’s “the worst thing you can do to a franchise”. This is still a pretty good movie if you just go into it thinking it’s gonna be a goofy heist movie (which it was).

Yeah, remember Thelma and Louise? That movie was amazing and bring interesting female lead without trying to piggyback a franchise series. Also don't forget Alien series.
There’s plenty of other twists & surprises in this film though. Like why Sandra Bullock’s Debbie got sent to jail. The surprise extra necklaces that they steal. & how they planned, and pulled off the heist/s & how they didn’t get caught.
Stealing the jewelry seemed so damn easy like there was no doubt that they were going to succeed all along, no point where you felt like they were trapped and at they end they are like "oh btw we also got many other jewels we got just as easily", the plot twist were hella week
I actually knew they stole the other jewels pretty early in the movie, so that twist was blah, I knew Anne was part of the heist but was disappointed by the fact that they made it so she wasn’t in on the plan all along and instead joined later after figuring it out because that just made the ladies seem sloppy, and I knew that Debbie’s ex would be implicated because it didn’t matter that she said she wasn’t after revenge, we all know that she was. Overall the twists were too expected and easy to spot. The only one I didn’t see coming was Yen.
Kim McNiel I assumed that they would take them because why plan such an elaborate heist just to get one necklace, but also early in the film they show the other jewels in a pretty prominent and focused way and they show that there is water around them. Then, when Cate’s character bought the little submarine toy at the store it was confirmation that she would use it for something water related and since we knew the other jewels were surrounded by water it makes sense that she was going to use it for that.
There were a lot of loopholes that I just let slide. Probably because I was so dazed with the big names that appeared on screen collectively. That and the fashion (our weakness) made it extremely enjoyable
Simone Umba Glad I wasn’t the only one. Maybe stupid was too harsh of a word, but I hope you get what I mean.
That was my thought as well. It was labeled as 8 but they only ever highlighted 7 people for the team. So either Hathaway was part of the job or someone from the team got zero billing. To me the twist was really more that she wasn't planned as part of it but found out and lopped herself in. I suppose they already had 8 for the job as well with Yen. So planned 8 but 8 women in the end too.
I think it may have been intentional? In the movie Cartier decided to loan the necklace because there was a generation of people who mispronounced their name and it would make them relevant with the younger crowd. He might've said is as a joke referencing that. Or not. It's unclear.
Maybe if they hadn't gotten their pricey jewels heisted from. Under the Jose's of their dedicated security crew... Then they'd be more worthy of having their brand name correctly pronounced. 👀

I didn't see any trailers but the twist was still obvious as there were only 7 girls in the gang and the movie is called Oceans eight. Although technically it should have been Oceans nine, as Chen did most of the actual stealing.

the only thing that annoyed me was when Mindy's character was on Tinder and her profile picture was literally one of herself at the MET Gala before the actual Gala and heist took place
I really liked the movie but it felt like there was no climactic point. Like there was just a twist or two but they weren’t really exciting twists lol. Also it seemed like they didn’t know how to end the movie so they just threw something in, but it didn’t really wrap it up. Everything just went through way too smoothly and according to plan
I think you missed a lot of the points of this movie, but the biggest one is that it wasn't because people were mispronouncing Cartier's name (which IS what she said), but that this fact only highlighted what they both knew: Cartier wasn't the go-to for diamonds anymore and that necklace being on the front cover of every media outlet could help make it that way again. The point was that they were doing no good sitting in a vault when they could be put on display as a marketing avenue... to make them a ton of money.
I love this review. Finally something other than "It's shit", or "you're sexist if you didn't love it". My one gripe is this: they wanted all women, but where is the ONE woman from the Oceans series? Linus's parents are these legendary grifters embedded in the CIA and FBI respectively, and his Mom plays a key role in saving the plan in Ocean's 12. All woman Ocean's movie without her is kinda a shame. But that's a wish list sort of thing, not a detraction from the story we saw, so ...grain of salt.
I like the female cast remakes , they are always intriguing and super fun ... Also I really enjoyed watching this one , and as a fan of Ocean's franchise, I can proudly say that it satisfied my expectations 😍😍
Max Da um, the character who you didn’t think was in the group, came into the group. Not the exact same in the two films, but an understandable comparison.
I was hoping in the very final shot of the film to just see a shadow behind Bullock and hear Clooney's voice. Would've been the perfect set up for a sequel.
Yo lowkey that return thing does work my buddy grabbed some Nintendo switch controllers went to the counter said they were trying return them with no reciept said no can’t do that gave him a bag and walked out with 2 brand new pair of joy cons!! CrZy lol
Retailers aren't supposed to accuse a customer of stealing if they can't prove it beyond a doubt. Losing some merchandise is cheaper to a company than getting sued for accusations they can't prove. So even if they can prove it with cameras, it's a hassle to access them and again, if they're wrong they can get sued so it's not worth the risk and better to just write-off the stolen goods. And really, cashiers don't get paid enough to argue or care. When the "customer" gets angry, the cashier just want to get rid of them rather than deal with them further. Maybe he was trying to discourage people from trying it when he said that it didn't work?
There's a trailer out for a movie called Widows. Independent all women team pulling a heist. Not a part of an old franchise, not a remake as far as I know. You might want to check it out when/if it's out.
widows looks like ocean 8(the concept of revenge) & peppermint (revenge & fury)? So far the ladies in Incredibles 2 are best. Hollywood has to do better!
Actually, Widows is an old "franchise" & the original Widows story appeared as a 2 part series in 1983 & 1985 on UK TV. The film is loosely based on the series, but the main part of the story is that 4 men are killed in a robbery & the leader of that group kept a ledger of the robbery details, which their widows then go and complete. It was quite good as I remember.
Debbie definitely has one on her brother. I wanna think she’s learned from her brother’s mistakes cuz she has everything thoroughly thought through to the letter, planning for every possible outcome
I don't understand why people are stressing about this being an all female cast pulling off the heist lol. Like, Ocean's Eleven had an all male cast pulling off the heist.
Cuz the main focus of the film was "empowering" and other bs. No one cares for that Focus on better storytelling and everyone's happy and not complain about everyone being misogynist
1:14 it works if you fit the right profile/character, aaand you know what you're doing. Which Debbie did. No random person is gonna be able to do *exactly* what she did and get away with it, if you're gonna do something like that, you have to play stereotypes. So the movie actually did that part pretty realistically.
Oceans 8 was a good reboot though. I bet a lot of people thought this was gonna bomb because of the similar all female reboot of Ghost busters. Lol I liked that movie too though. Back to the point they slammed the critics in my mind.
Riri Pari You bet I bottom? Sounds like some gay talk there. Thought you were a straight female? Gay. No no my dear there is no choice between luscious hips beautiful legs soft skin flowing hair bright eyes and her head on my chest, or ball on your chin! Lol. That is a mental condition. You may ad well say a flower isn't beautiful. Riri I hope you find love but you don't do that by pushing men away. We don't need you. You need us. Unless you see that then you will be a single woman Generation.
Riri Pari been Married once. To my best friend. You see the problem is politics. We don't want it in our entertainment. In high stress situations women can't separate emotions from logic. Just wired different. They get hurt or get others hurt. Instead of trying to be something you're not try being what you are and be proud of it.
I read some comments complaining why Anne was in the poster and subway photo when she's not part of the 8. And then I saw this video where you say she IS part of the 8. I'm kinda confused now if those commentor saw the movie or not. I haven't seen the movie (not enough budget).
She was not in group until the end which is pretty dumb. It's like Andy garcia works with Danny ocean in ocean's 13. By that logic movie should be called oceans 14
3:19 Sandra, Cate, Anne, n Helena look so GOOD! I've never wanted to eat these ladies so much in gratitude before! 💞 Maybe when Sandra was in Blindside, and DEFINITELY when Cate was Galadriel in LOTR👍🏾
Dude, You missed the biggest flaw of this movie... They were literally walking / sitting in public places talking about heisting, Sandra Bullock even got caught in the bathroom talking to herself about heisting then continued her story. She LITERALLY was walking around the museum on camera with people stood around talking on the phone about whether or not she’s in the blind spot of the cameras...
cause no one will pay attention, one people who spy at them will care about what they are talking about. tbh it's obvious cause their voice are not loud, jist enough for proper conversation and they know no one will care.
I loved ocean’s 8 . It showed women can do heists and it was so well done. I think there’s indication that Debbie wants to believe that her brother is pulling a con and isn’t really dead. That first thing she says at the cemetery “ you better be in there “ tells me she thinks that her brother is pulling a con on everyone
Wait... The female version isn't robbing money from a casino or a bank. They're stealing jewelry? And this isn't just some prologue heist before a REAL heist, thats all they are trying to steal? This is such a pathetic hand me down. They're going to far lower stakes, but without a payoff like make it more gritty and realistic.
Yeah, but this is the same time that people are extremely cynical of how over-valued gemstones are, especially De Beers diamonds. It's no good just saying a few rocks are $200 million dollars, you might as well say they are one billion dollars, why not? The industry has been caught over-valuing gemstones so much. But cash is cash. A $100 bill is a $100 bill. And it's just much more impressive ripping off a huge amount of money from a ruthless casino where you're so deep inside a machine than snatching diamonds off a woman who is obviously part of the heist as you can tell from all the promotional footage and even the title.
Treblaine they snatched the diamonds of her neck when she wasn’t apart of the scheme yet. She joined afterwords (I’m bad at explaining things and there are more details to it)
I'd love it if they went up against GREATER stakes and didn't do it for anything but themselves. Something like going after the head of state of, say, a fictional or un-named state somewhere around the Mediterranean where some Crown Prince launders, embezzles and hoards money for third world dictatorships, Yakuza, spies, even terrorists. And of course, this micro-nation despot doesn't live frugally, he has lavish hotels, casinos (how he receives his bribes and money to launder) and opulent auctions of conspicuous consumption. So it looks like an Ocean's film, they aren't robbing a bank in downtown Boston. The stakes are higher because if they get busted they're not going to go into an ordinary prison system with appeals and the place they are ripping off fundamentally has to abide by certain laws, a corrupt nation can do what they like. And it's more than money, it's secrets. What's in the vault? Nazi gold? Famous stolen artworks? Terrible secrets being used to blackmail world leaders? Because the stakes are higher, this is a place where no search warrants can grant you access, it's TRULY special for a crew to break into such a place. And this must explain why it's an all female team, in this case the sexism should drive it. The Ministry of Security of this micro-nation is foiled by his sexist attitude where he is convinced that only men could plan any serious heist against his Crown Prince, so that's why an all female team would do this, because if it's just them and no men then they're not going to catch as much heat. They're going to play off stereotypes that they're just bimbos spending someone else's money, poor feeble immigrant maids, golddiggers, trafficked women and so on. The jewellery heist should have been just a prologue, something to get most of the all female team together and they worry about the stakes, how they risk so much for so little and they decide that if they're going to risk so much then it has to be for far more than for some gemstones that they're going to struggle to sell anyway. The stolen necklace could be the basis of them going to this micro-nation, as it's the one place they can shift such a hot item without being immediately arrested. They present themselves to the Crown Prince not as thieves but one of them just as a mule used to transport stolen goods that someone else stole.
The Justice League live action movie did the Flash a disservice. He is nothing like that in the comics. That Flash reminds me of a young peter parker trying to get the approval of the avengers and the real flash is nothing like that!
They could've add one more character on the team and have her betray the team and turns out BOOM! Sandra Bullock sees it coming and have Anne Hathaway as her wild card. Ocean's 8 to Ocean's 8-1 to Ocean's 7 to Ocean's 7+1 and back to Ocean's 8.
I didn’t pay attention to this movie in advance and had no expectations so I really enjoyed it. Not even counting the Rat Pack version I like this installment quite a bit and found the plot a lot more plausible than Ocean’s Twelve.
Oh I didn’t even realize that Anne Hathaway was supposed to be a dramatic twist. But tbh I also didn’t realize that there were 8 of them bc of the title
I saw the Anne Hathaway twist coming a mile away, but not quite like I expected. I thought she'd be in from the start, and I found the reason for joining quite funny and also an obvious lie (she's an actress), she wanted the cash, probably needed it to finally become a director. The twist that they brought back the Chinese guy was the one that actually got me and I LOVED IT. Maybe I'm easy to please. But I really liked this movie, as flawed as it was.
I think the biggest plothole of this movie, also found in previous editions, was with the cameras. In this one when the amazing Yen changes the jewels on the statues, I find it hard to believe there were no cameras constantly recording there. Also, rihanna's role felt shoved in. Also, any serious hacker knows you don't just hack in anything just like that.
A woman I heard over the radio straight said she didn't want to see it because Ocean's was always just eye candy. To me I don't think women were asking for this.
I hated how they needed a special magnet to get the necklace off, but then when the other chick pulls the necklace out of the water everyone is like yep, must've just fallen off when she was running.
Michael Chai Facts, I was like, if they aren’t gonna question it then I won’t.
Also, there were cameras that wouldve showed how Sarah Paulson pulled up her skirt, very visibly revealing the fake on her knee
Right. It would’ve been cool if the twist was there was a secret investigation on why the necklace fell off.
Knowdaqueen17 then the fake lock magnet that they used will be found along side with the 10% of the necklace anne planted on the room
I always thought this would be ommitted with "everyone was just relieved that they found it" in the stress of all of it
I’m so glad I didn’t overanalyze the trailers and posters because I never saw the Anne Hathaway twist coming and I loved it!
GoldenNinja3000 “Overanalyze,” you mean look at the posters/trailer?
GoldenNinja3000 dude in todays in day and age i don't even trust trailers, they spoil everything

GoldenNinja3000 Same!!
I totally agree with the respect women and let them have their own franchise like damn let’s chill on the remakes
Hannah Dyson Right! These awful remakes bring nerds that can't handle an all female cast. I wish an original movie would get a fair show

Absolutely my thoughts, so pleased to find out someone stated this.
It was more of a Reveal, which comes a bit before the climax.
The Anne Hathaway twist was obvious, but it didn't take anything away from anything for me. I honestly loved this movie.

Also it seemed like they didn’t know how to end the movie so they just threw something in, but it didn’t really wrap it up. Everything just went through way too smoothly and according to plan
katie yeah disappointed. It was like skipping Disneyland for a vacation in Oklahoma.
This is exactly how I feel about it too.. There was no point were I felt like they were in trouble
gape ngwanaamotho agreed
Agree, no suspence, the actors knew they were in the movie and it was going to go well, and it went well.
I watch 3 of your videos a day, especially when I'm bad moods
..thank you for all of these
Nespresso, what else?
I think you missed a lot of the points of this movie, but the biggest one is that it wasn't because people were mispronouncing Cartier's name (which IS what she said), but that this fact only highlighted what they both knew: Cartier wasn't the go-to for diamonds anymore and that necklace being on the front cover of every media outlet could help make it that way again. The point was that they were doing no good sitting in a vault when they could be put on display as a marketing avenue... to make them a ton of money.
“I thought females were smart” oooh and I thought that you understood that women are people too and there are all kinds of women. Huh.
The big twist wasn't that Anne Hathaway joins the group, the big twist was that they stole all of the other jewels on display.
13+ oh Sandra Bullock
12 under oh it’s bird box lady
I know her from the scary movie premonition
I love this review. Finally something other than "It's shit", or "you're sexist if you didn't love it". My one gripe is this: they wanted all women, but where is the ONE woman from the Oceans series? Linus's parents are these legendary grifters embedded in the CIA and FBI respectively, and his Mom plays a key role in saving the plan in Ocean's 12. All woman Ocean's movie without her is kinda a shame. But that's a wish list sort of thing, not a detraction from the story we saw, so ...grain of salt.
“Dasani” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I understood that joke.
LME:"women deserve their own original movies"
Me: **spreads legs**
I like the female cast remakes , they are always intriguing and super fun ... Also I really enjoyed watching this one , and as a fan of Ocean's franchise, I can proudly say that it satisfied my expectations
😍😍
OOF, a NOW YOU SEE ME plot twist... who would've guessed.
Jezza Can u elaborate? Like the movie Now You See Me?
Max Da um, the character who you didn’t think was in the group, came into the group. Not the exact same in the two films, but an understandable comparison.
Jezza ahhh I gotcha I thought u meant the twist where someone faked their death
i only watched this movie because of sarah paulson. I thought she did really good
“It does not work.. that’s why this video is late” 🤣 I was tempted to try it for real!
I was hoping in the very final shot of the film to just see a shadow behind Bullock and hear Clooney's voice. Would've been the perfect set up for a sequel.
Alain Dulon they clearly left it ambiguous with Clooney the way she said “I hope your really in there”
Ryan Davies well it was a joke, I was mocking anti SJWs. She really said that? Why would she want her brother to be dead?
Ryan Davies gay.
Alain Dulon gay
Lmao you kinda fucked me up with the Reese's part never knew or thought about that. Subed
I took the fact that Danny ocean sister was in jail when he supposedly passed away as motivation to do the heist and frame the ex-boyfriend
Nope
Omg i love you for these fast vid upload schedule
There's a trailer out for a movie called Widows. Independent all women team pulling a heist. Not a part of an old franchise, not a remake as far as I know. You might want to check it out when/if it's out.
Sachi B gay
widows looks like ocean 8(the concept of revenge) & peppermint (revenge & fury)? So far the ladies in Incredibles 2 are best. Hollywood has to do better!
Actually, Widows is an old "franchise" & the original Widows story appeared as a 2 part series in 1983 & 1985 on UK TV. The film is loosely based on the series, but the main part of the story is that 4 men are killed in a robbery & the leader of that group kept a ledger of the robbery details, which their widows then go and complete. It was quite good as I remember.
@@derfsenoj2715 Do you just scroll the comments calling everyone gay?
Debbie definitely has one on her brother. I wanna think she’s learned from her brother’s mistakes cuz she has everything thoroughly thought through to the letter, planning for every possible outcome
I don't understand why people are stressing about this being an all female cast pulling off the heist lol. Like, Ocean's Eleven had an all male cast pulling off the heist.
Cuz the main focus of the film was "empowering" and other bs. No one cares for that
Focus on better storytelling and everyone's happy and not complain about everyone being misogynist
1:14 it works if you fit the right profile/character, aaand you know what you're doing. Which Debbie did. No random person is gonna be able to do *exactly* what she did and get away with it, if you're gonna do something like that, you have to play stereotypes. So the movie actually did that part pretty realistically.
Personally, I thought the movie was good and I really like the ending
I love that I no longer gotta go to movie theaters for movies I can just get this from yt
"Sexual harassment isn't a joke - remove Matt damon from oceans 8"
Seriously
I didn’t even try to count all of the members in the trailers 😂 I’m glad I didn’t
Oceans 8 was a good reboot though. I bet a lot of people thought this was gonna bomb because of the similar all female reboot of Ghost busters. Lol I liked that movie too though. Back to the point they slammed the critics in my mind.
Riri Pari gay
Derf Senoj No. I'm a straight female, but now I know what you are. I'm only calling how I see it buddy. I bet you bottom to the other guys too.
Riri the whole plot was dumb. Their goal was pennies on the dollor.
I would never go for jewelry.
Riri Pari been Married once. To my best friend. You see the problem is politics. We don't want it in our entertainment. In high stress situations women can't separate emotions from logic.
Just wired different. They get hurt or get others hurt. Instead of trying to be something you're not try being what you are and be proud of it.
Legit was waiting for Danny Ocean to pop out at the ending and like sit beside her. Dude that would’ve been so dope
Samarth Thank you for the info. So this should be called Ocean's 7 then.
@@samarth5257 - Yen is number 8, not Daphne. He was part of the jewelry heist for the remaining jewels.
This is amazing. 3 new vids on the past few days. Awesome
I love how you called Awkwafina Dasani😂😂😂
I'm glad someone is talking about this. It's been bugging me since I saw the trailer and poster
A better sequel to the Ocean's series would be Linus and his family.
Yeah, in real life, I guess the designer and her assistant would be one of the suspects, because they begged for the jewels.
Loved it. Subscribed right away. Thanks!!
Was it supposed to be a secret Anne Hathaway was apart of it
I loved ocean’s 8 .
It's the most valuable jewels in the world they steal. They end up making almost 200 mil which isn't low stakes imo.
The Necklace was a distraction..
It distracted everyone from noticing they stole the exhibit full of jewelry..
They each had over 30 mill after.
I saw none of the promotional material so the twist actually got me
Oh that was the twist ? Lmaooo
"He straight up Barney Stinson-ed him" Lmao
Stranger Things next?
That's the first online petition that I've actually seen work. Wow. I love the Ocean's films, but this one is either a rental or avoid it.
So I just seen it today for $5 i enjoyed it. But I was like i seen that coming. 😂
I didn’t pay attention to this movie in advance and had no expectations so I really enjoyed it. Not even counting the Rat Pack version I like this installment quite a bit and found the plot a lot more plausible than Ocean’s Twelve.
Well Helena Bonham Carter had a point. Even you mispronounced Cartier plus LAST I CHECKED THERE'S NO AMERICAN SHERLOCK WHAT?!?!
Oh I didn’t even realize that Anne Hathaway was supposed to be a dramatic twist. But tbh I also didn’t realize that there were 8 of them bc of the title
I thought it was pretty darned good
Nice touch with the orange jailed shirt when the stealing trick didnt work
Talk about alex starngerlove you Mexican
Y’all got me working like one. Tuesday

No need to talk about. It's really bad and cheesy.
Albus Dumbledore incorrect
shister Carly no, it’s a shit movie.
When I first saw the trailer I was trying to see who the 8th person was and low and behold there was Anne Hathaway in the whole set up of women.
the film was GREAT
im thankful for having poor memory for once; not remembering looking at trailers and movie posters made the twist enjoyable for me :)
It was still good tho
Abigaill Rodriguez gay
Abigaill Rodriguez it was not good. It was an insult to women! 8 women looking for more jewelry. May as well been looking for shoes. Lol
Bruhhh. Hehe bruhhh.
BRUHHHHH
I'll let the twist slide because the posters of the Ocean trilogy showcased Andy Garcia's character despite being the antagonist.
Even the film's title spoiled a twist
"Mr British Sherlock" ... What other type of Sherlock is there? XD
It was so good though 😂😂

LMAO! Dude throwing shade hard AF!!!
Well played. Lol
