Very interesting stuff and a good departure from the normal episodes.

I can't believe stock, black, plain, steel wheels made the list. They may be cool now, for the restoration factor, but back when I was growing up in the 70's, they were immediately replaced with the Cragar SS right behind you. probably the most common aftermarket wheels for a muscle car back in the day.

I noticed the illusion of the reflected half circles on the Cuda wheels on a previous episode, and you mentioned it on this one!
Great episode, I love watching these

I wasn't too thrilled when I saw the title, but I enjoyed it very much. Great job. Yeah, there were some good wheels that got left out, but these were very interesting. Maybe do a part 2 with the Chevy Ralley with the many different center caps, and some of the other popular wheels. The late '80s GN had a nice looking wheel.

Dog dish for sure. Also, I thought Mopar offered a magnesium one piece wheel on some like the Charger but they recalled them...?

Very good episode, but I would have preferred a two-part show: one with factory OEM wheels and one with aftermarket wheels. It was funny that there was a Cragar S/S wheel on the car behind him, and I kept waiting for that one to show up in the top 10 list, but it never did :). Back in the day, practically no one kept their stock wheels on their car for very long; it was either a Cragar, Keystone, ET, American Racing, etc., wheel that they went to, usually in a big/little combination.

I agree with you. That 1969 charger hub cap is very cool! Yeah the mags and the cragars look cool, but the hub caps really make it stand out. It gives it more of a sleeper look. I love your videos, keep me coming.

If every one had loved factory wheels there would not have been an aftermarket. That being said, as I get older I have grown fond of factory wheels. They just get a bit pricey some times.
As always, great video. I always enjoy them and look forward to the next.

I think the Crager Shelby GT350 wheels from the '65-'66 cars are cooler than the '67-'68 wheels, the '65-'66 wheel was the basis for the later Crager S/S chrome wheels that were so popular in the '70s.

Love the pontiac sports wheel. Here in Australia they had them on the mid 70's GMH cars. My mum's 2 door HJ Holden Monaro sported this Style rims from the factory.

Torque Thrusts are my favorites with or without centercaps. Then CRAGARS, CENTERLINE Auto Drag Tricks, Ansen, Fenton, ET, CRAGAR or just about any "kidney bean" five slot aluminum wheels. I like the rear slot "mag" to be centercap free.

Hey Camaro guy! Stick to your own, LOL! i admit the Mopar rallies were good looking and they had that cool round hole visual effect on the trim ring. If fact they all had their own cool style. The Chevy rallies that came out in 67 and were used all over the place, Nova, Chevelle, Monte Carlo, impala, Camaro, I think even the 67-72 C10 could be so optioned, so you name it they (almost) all had them. Right up until 1982, quite a run! they were available in 14x6, 14x7, 15x7, 15x7 (1968 Corvette offset)15x8 with 2 different style hubcaps, a smooth one with "disc brake" script and ones that were ribbed and those also had two lengths. And these still look stylish today!

@@robertpoudrette4483 haha I should have not jumped ship!! I love the Chevy Rally Rim of course... I'm maybe just too used of them.... the mopar version is sweet. I've owned many Chev rally rimmed cars over the years but never a "Disc Brake" versioned cap. At least I don't think I did? You know your rally rims I'll give you that my friend! Cheers!!

    • @robertpoudrette4483
      @robertpoudrette4483 3 роки тому

@@camaro69green31 My dad must have had a set of chevy rallies in all sizes! But it's okay to like other stuff! The Mopar rally is a nice wheel especially the early ones that were deep dished with the darker hubcap. I like the visual effect the d shaped hole made on a polished trim ring showing a full round hole. Also the Mopar chrome 2 piece Magnum wheels is a beautiful wheel, it reminds a bit of the Buick wheel they used on the GS and GSX. To me, and that's opinion only, that's the best looking stock wheel you could get on a brand new car. That type of wheel would visually fit almost any sporty car back in the day!

    1. the wheels of a car, are like the shoes of a person, decisive what they represent !
from this it is easy to see what you are dealing with.
therefore it is important that this fashion fits together !
    2. this video is extremely cool.
it is very informative and also a topic what makes the muscle car only to the muscle car !
    3. this can also be extended with engines, the extras and special parts that were available for this theme !
    4. a top 25 selection would have become a total overview.
top 10 is cool but there are still some nice shoes missing !!!!
and last but not least !!!
damn you forgot the tires !!!
what is worse than a muscle car with semperit tires on mag 500 wheels
where are the white letters on black ground ???

    1) Painted Magnums 500 aren't called Magnum 500's, they are road wheels, A Magnum 500 is fully Chrome, no trim ring, and In my book THEY ARE the best Muscle Car wheel, even your clip mention they were Found on Many Models from many Brands, and if you are old enough, you never saw Poverty caps on "Muscle Cars", you saw them on 4 doors six bangers, or Station Waons, or real plain jane with no HP. You had Nicely designed Hubcaps from all manufacturere. The Poverty wheels became a TREND when someone decided in the late 80's to create the Sleeper Concept (yeah similar ideas were done prior) but using looked tame....what a surprise, if someone doesn't hear a 500 HP engine!!?? and just notices those Ugly caps ....really, 50% of a car's looks are the wheels, so get over the trend!
