I am watching from Australia 🇦🇺
Watching your video is very helpful. My observation is this, when an element won't wet felt into the project because it has no loose fibers, I would take a bit of wool and needle felt it to the back and the lower edges. Needle felt it enough that it is secure on all edges. Lay it in and cover the strands of fibers with a layer or two of your cover fibers. That should secure any element.
Thank you for these original ideas and vivid colors!!!
Thank you! I just LOVE your teaching videos!

Hi,Barb.Miller from longview,wa,wanting to learn this
That was super cool.. I’m a beginner to felting (well needle felting) and never would I have imagined you could wet felt! Thank you for sharing your amazing skills! Hugs from Australia 😘
Sonia Bentancour we are so happy to share and glad you found it inspiring. There is so much you can do with felting... and a lot of felting happening in Australia. ♡♡
LivingFelt Thank you!
Fantastic video! I've barely wet felted other than some balls I made for earrings, animal heads, etc. I hope I'll be able to make a nice flat felt to cut out some scales for a dragon. I'm sure you've heard of the Russian artist, Alena Bobrova; I'm going to attempt to make some dragons in her style, they're super cute!
They are adorable. All those scales take patience, but are also fun. I made an acorn hat for one of my larger dolls some years ago and really enjoyed the process and the outcome. You never know where that inspiration will lead you :)
Yeah! I love how much dimension they add to a piece. I think I read that her mom helps her with the wet felting and cutting out the pieces. I haven't had luck wet felting different colors on top of a flat piece. She gives her scales "highlights" of different colors, and I'm not sure how to do that without them just blending together. I'm going to give it a shot though! Thanks again.
@@yona-yama 🐉🦕 use the same type of fiber, but make the highlight at leads a few shades lighter. :)
What do we usually make with this
Will.it be like a fabric in use or will be cutted easily if I make it a scarf or shawl ?
What's the idea for using the soap and what soaps can you use?
The soap helps to...change the ph of the fiber which helps the scales on the wool open up, it provides a lubricant so your hands can rub the wool with less disturbance, and a soap with a high oil content helps hold the fibers together during felting. We recommend a hard milled soap that will not melt quickly, one that is non or low sudsing, and high oil content. We use and sell Olive Oil soap imported from France at 72% oil content.
